OyoTunjiUSA: Hiya, thank you for your reply. Is owning a business sufficient ties?
Hey 🤠
1. Proving home-ties is not just writing out your employer's name or families or property listings . Proving home ties must follow the rigid (unshaking) policy .
2. I can deduced that you 're presently in the UK and to secure United States visa from the UK (as a Nigerian) you must proof a tie WHICH TIE (bind) YOU AND UK TOGETHER .
3. If you are a UK citizen then your family (especially husband , wife and kids ) and job (solid long time job) are sufficient to proof tie.
4. If you are a permanent resident, your family in the UK, Solid job, and properties or ongoing education (ie PhD /MSc in view) will make up for your tie .
5. You just have to proof WHAT MUST take you back to the UK ... NOT WHAT MUST TAKE YOU BACK TO NIGERIA and the United States embassy consulars knows those things naturally . ****.
6. If you are trying to proof Nigeria ties in the UK they won't grant you the visa . You will come to Nigeria and proof those ties to Abuja or Lagos consulars.
Best Wishes 🙏 |

Hi guys. Please advice.
I am currently filling my application form but I am in a bit of a pickle with the area that asks for occupation. I work as a support worker in the UK and about a year ago I started my recruitment company. The company is not yielding much as I barely made any profit nor did I break even. To make up for it, I work a few shifts in a week.
What do I put as my present employer? My business name or the organization I work for? Please bear in mind that I need this to prove a strong home tie.
Thank you |

Hello everyone,
I am new to the US student visa thread. I currently in the UK studying for a PG program. I didn’t get my dream course of study because, quite frankly, the school is affordable and offered similar program. I wanted Accounting, but I am studying Finance.
Is it possible for me to do an MBA in Accounting after my PG course?
Constructive feedback pls. Thank you. |

Hey guys. I need your help pls.
I am 33 years old. I have paid half of my tuition from my personal funds. I have approximately 2.5million naira in my account and I am equally engaging the help of my mother, who is sponsoring my maintenance.
Will the embassy consider a 33 year old to be too old to get sponsorship from parents, bearing in my I already paid half of my tuition from my personal pocket.
Pls help. |

Guys, the account I am using for proof of fund is an account that isn’t being used actively. The funds are there but transactions are not done on a regular basis. The funds have been actively in the account for 1 year and it is strictly for my tuition & maintenance. I asked the bank to print a 28 day’s statement, and the transaction history is less than 20 activities. Is this a problem? |

Grace321: If you did NYSC after studies, you can add it. So you can say after graduation in 2008, you proceeded to serve for a year which is mandatory for all graduates in Nigeria (you can quote where you served). Thereafter, you gained employment in (mention names of company you’ve worked with)...
If you worked in different organizations during your 12 years experience you can include the name, month and year you joined them. You should also back everything up with employment letter and work reference of your current place of work. If you attended some 1-6 months trainings, you can include the certificate.
Try to get the Offical WAEC, I don’t know how but if you can’t you can as well tell them due to the current situation of the country you might not be able to get it though it was the school that provided what you currently have. Then pray it works. Thanks Grace. I hope it works too. |

omopapa: Yes to all
You need a reference letter from work to support the claim Ok. What about the WAEC result? What do they mean by official WAEC result? What I have is my secondary school testimonial showing my scores in WAEC and my examination number. Is that one not sufficient? |

Is that how to tackle this question?
They also asked to provide an official copy of my WAEC certificate. Do I need to go to WAEC office to get that? |

mimilyrics: It's correct. £470 for your one year program plus ½ of £470 (£235) for the extra 4-6 months that's usually added so you're granted 1 year, 4 (or 6) months for 1 year programmes. So the total amount payable is £705? |
