This is I returning to thank everyone who one
way or the other helped me in suggesting ways I could get my car ish resolved.
1. So after reading all pages of the thread from 1 to the end I got to understand what the problem could be.

2.My car was towed to ikeja on thursday 9th of September 8pm. (The Mechanics brought a truck).

3. I was told to go that I’d be contacted the next day. I was called the next day 12pm and 40k was requested. (They had loosed the car as at this time).

4. The gasket got changed, something was done to the cylinder head too, new oil and plugs and one bad coil.

5. My car was driven by me on Saturday 11th September by 7pm from Ikeja to everywhere! (that is after serious testing by the mechanics. The tracker kept showing different locations and I was calling to know why it was driven to those places).

6. They told me no need to change the radiator, water pump and all of that. (I was shocked).

7. I intentionally made up my mind to wait for at least a month plus to be triple sure before coming to Share my testimonyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

For the naysayers, I told y’all I will update my testimony right? No single overheating, no stopping me on the way, no trouble, no Nothing! Give the Lord a shouuuttttttttt somebody! I have been driving everywhere! Anywhere! Anytime!
Coolant still where it was like the day I got it back! Nothing like having a car my people! Bye bye to stress! No single joy in waiting under the rain and sun at bus stands with so much people Kai! Y’all need to see how comfortable i feel that I can drive out just anytime with as little as 5k or 2k fuel sef.

you will have to change ur Top gasket again. After removing your Radiator take it to Alabede for washing & flushing if it is ok they will let you know. Get a good Rewire to test your cooling fan if they are working well and blowing air towards the engine direction if it is ok he will tell u. Ask your, Mechanic, to check your water pump too

Well said. Op follow this advice and in addition, please buy a 2 cell radiator & remove the thermostat if it is still present. It will make the cooling system better. Since I bought this, get fans working at ignition start and change the water pump, I have add a good experience. I have a good mechanic I can recommend for you to fix your car

My car was doing same thing. I noticed it happens whenever I used AC. I traced the fault and found out one of my fans was bad. I serviced the fan. It stopped.

Later found out my radiator was also getting bad. Had to change it and now I'm fine...

Be weary of mechanics. They will deliberately exploit you if you're not careful

Pls don't make your fan permanent as adviced above. It could cause other problems.
If you are around akowonjo/Egbeda axis, I could give you a good Japanese car mechanic that will fix your car at minimal reasonable cost. Ie your burnt gasket.
As per overheating, if it concerns your radiator, forget it. Simple matter. "Murphy Agbede" will take out that radiator, open the cells and clean it up. That car will work like new.
My sis pajero after all the rubbish by lekki mechanics and overheating still continued, I told her to send the car over. Sharp sharp overheating from radiator was fixed. 2 years later, still no issues.

Sorry about that bro,I had a similar experience with my Lexus SUV,it overheats once the ac is on and I stay in traffic for over 30mins.

I had to go to ladipo,my mechanic recommended I change the follow come single cell radiator to double cell radiator then they ensured the fans are very active.

Since then no issues,so try and check if the radiator is single cell or double cell,try changing it alongside the water pump and radiator fan.

Lastly keep an eye on your temp gauge so you can observe any increase

I can imagine the stress and pain. Kpele. We’ve been there in the past. Firstly, ditch your evil mechanic cos he’s the part of the problem here. Secondly, you didn’t indicate the make and year of your car. Thirdly, do you have any male figure you can speak to for assistance cos auto mechanical issues can be draining.
And finally, you need a very good mechanic to trace the origin and source of the overheating. It could be as simple as a bad radiator cap or faulty thermostat. So you need someone who’s knowledgeable to help supervise the repairs so you don’t further stress or frustrate yourself. I could send an auto mechanic to you if you don’t mind, depending on your location in Lagos.

First , you have to go learn about car with a view to getting more experience on how car works . This might sound naive but is truth ...otherwise you may be forced to sell this ride to someone that understands what he ought to do. May be they sold a lemon to you . Take it to a good mechanic for proper check up
