light004: Can we stop defending Buhari and allow him to do that himself. He made the promise to Nigerians to declare his assets; don't give excuses for him let wait until after the 100days. Buhari painted the picture of himself as a man with limited resources which obviously cannot be true of a man of his statue in a country like Nigeria. Do your investigation and allow Buhari to prove to Nigerians that indeed he is poor like he campaigned. Since you do not believe Buhari is a man of "limited resources" provide proof of where he is hiding his wealth or shut up. |

l can't speak about peter obi's management skills, but l met him once at Abuja airport and his simplicity impressed me. As I walked across the arrival hall that day, there was a man right in front of me pulling a small suitcase. I never knew it was a governor in front of me because he was alone without adc or pa. l only got to know it was peter obi when we got to the exit door and the then apga leader with a tall cap, waiting for him, shouted "your excellency". |

Mogidi: Meanwhile Buhari is set to declare a whopping N879 million in assets.
And the N879 million is just a tip of the iceberg, wait till BreakingTimes reveal his real estate in Dubai. Lets agree Buhari made good use of the $2.8b he looted, he invested well in Dubai. Buhari has never said at any time that he is poor. What he said at the time he got the nomination form was that he did not have 27 million cash, so he had to borrow to buy the form. lnfact Buhari is not a poor man, not with his pension and modest farm. He generates income from his farm and 150 cows. The only problem with the people attributing unsubstantiated wealth to Buhari is that they're judging him by their own standard- they assume that if they had the opportunity like Buhari has had to be in various public offices, they would have stolen billions- but these criminal-minded fellows know that Buhari has never been a thief. |

Bukola is unscrupulous, mean, dubious and dangerous. This guy can do anything for money and power. He looted societe general bank and ran it aground. As governor and dictator of kwara state, he dealt mercilessly with the state's treasury for eight years. After leaving office as governor efcc went for him, but trust the certified criminal, Bukola masterminded the mysterious fire at the state ministry of finance, which destroyed all records of his 8 thieving years as governor. Bukola fought and shamed his father just because he opposed Bukola's choice of the incumbent governor Ahmed, his "boy", as his successor. Given Bukola's capacity for thuggery, nobody dares him in kwara. So Buhari is well-advised to tame Bukola NOW |

Did I hear Saraki is crying imposition? That's precisely what he himself does in Kwara state. He has a puppet as governor, making Saraki the de facto governor. Every political appointment in the state is made by Saraki - from lg councillor to commissioners and board members, everything. Nobody in kwara dares this corruption-personified c-in-c of the most vicious thugs around. Saraki doesn't want a dose of his own medicine! But his locking horns with jagaban Borgu may be his undoing. Like or hate him Tinubu is today a political titan in Nigeria. What a life - from area boy to nationally-acclaimed kingmaker! |

boladez: Spewing thrash is a phrase I see every day on Nairaland from many who don't even understand the meaning. Just hear a word it sounds nice and throw it around without any originality. The same Low intellectual capacity makes you hear word in a beer palour and take it as truth without asking questions or exercising the God given grey matter you should have but lack. If you can slightly upgrade your thought process you will realise its better for a man who can see to stay afar than a blind man to stay close. I dont have to be In Kwara to know what is going on there ...all I need is to raise the game and ask questions in the right places.
Does your half or quarter wit tell you that there is a reason for the non payment other than using the money to pursue Saraki's Senate presidency?
Are you aware Kwara state is low on IGR? Are you aware FGN share revenues are dwindling? Are you aware KWSG is servicing loans?
why allow your beer parlour talk to spill into the streets? It does not make sense .....to those who have sense. Only saw dust brain like you will believe that there has been a pay cut for such flimsy and unintelligent reasons Spewing trash again. The fact remains that Kwara state govt has slashed lg pension by 50% and civil servants hav not even been paid the 50%! |

Poster, where is the source? when did beer parlour discussion become a news item?
I am tired of the failings of Nigerian elites whopping are supposed to be educated and have sound minds You're not in the state that's why u r spewing thrash. The local govt staff and pensioners who hav been short-changed for 2 months and state civil servants who hav not been paid even the 50% for May know better |
Politics › 50% Pay Cut In Kwara by mu2sa2(op): 6:02am On Jun 05, 2015 |
Civil servants and pensioners in Kwara state are in for a rough time as the state govt slashes salaries by a whopping 50%. This unpopular decision is likely to be effected in MDAs with the yet unpaid May salaries, but has been implemented for local govt workers since April 2015. Rumours going round have it that Bukola Saraki (who's the de facto governor of the state) is using the state's meagre resources to campaign for Senate presidency. |

PassingShot: At least no controversy in this report as it was put together by the outgoing government headed by Samboribobo himself.
What we are reading/seeing is only a tip of the iceberg. Wait till after the new administration fully resumes work to discover the true level of decadence that PDP/GEJ have plunged Nigeria into.
Had GEJ gotten a way to "win" the last election, Nigeria would SURELY HAVE COLLAPSED in another one year. Seriously, Americans would hav had the last laugh on the 2015 predicted collapse of nigeriaif Gej and his gang had found a way to rig the presidential election. Bandits! |

Saraki has sponsored a number of press reports of late to give the impression that he is the candidate to beat for the senate president. The guy is so desperate that he can do anything to get the plum office. Maybe he reckons that as senate president the effc will discard the corruption charge against him. Don't under rate him when it comes to throwing money about - after all he was governor for 8 years when the allocation from the federation account was chunky and he is still the de facto governor of hapless kwara state! |

icebeatz: On January 2015, my brother was kidnapped. Nigerian police is inept and a bunch of low life destitutes!!! That was a very difficult moment for me... I can imagine what this family is passing through. The funny thing was that my brother's kidnappers were hausa/fulani men (despite the fact he was kidnapped in delta state)... They spoke hausa to each other (according to my brother)
They tied my brother up and left him in the bush for 4 days. Every morning, they would give him a phone to call us... he would call, crying and begging for help....
WE PAID ABOUT 200K IN TOTAL TO POLICE AND SSS BUT THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING. THE police asked us not to pay the ransom but on the 3rd day, we couldn't take the pressure anymore and just had to cough out a whooping sum of 5 million.... my brother was released on the 4th day.
After the ordeal, the policemen demanded for 60k in order to "settle debts they incurred in line of investigation".... i wept bitterly for this country!!!!.... of course, we were told to deny we paid any ransom!!! #truelifestory
Your people kidnapped your brother and you're blaming hausa/fulani! Your kidnapper brethren were smart enough to utter a few words in a language not theirs to confuse you. Truth is, kidnappers and armed robbers are having a field day in the south. |
