Some time last year I met a polceman in uniform at a uba atm point complaining to sb on phone that he came to the atm to withdraw 5k the previous day but 1k note was fake. He said he immediately informed the bank's security, who advised he reported inside. The officer he was directed to flatly refuted him , saying their atm does not dispense counterfeit because the money is checked before loading. I advised the policeman to email their customer care. He thanked me and collected my phone no., saying he would call me. When he called he said on his return to his office he decided to report the matter at Cp's office and the cp ordered that the bank manager be arrested. When police got to the bank, he said the manager started to beg, pleading that the matter be settled and he gave him 1k. I believe fradulent bank staff are behind this scam.

Agree 100%. Uba u-mobile is absolutely hassle free. Even if you have any problem at all with uba services, their customer care is available 24 hours every single including weekends and they're responsive. Or you email them and they respond same day. Uba mobile banking requires only password, not the visible Gtb token that everyone around will know what you're doing. lam not advertising Uba, but their mobile & internet banking services are excellent. Uba Africard is also good for online payments.

Your opinion is flawed. How can you reason that a succeeding deputy is serving out the tenure of his predecessor? Joint tenure means their term is inseparable. So, if the deputy served one day that's his first term - after all s/he is not compelled to be sworn-in. Gentleman, get it straight, law does not always coincide with common sense.

Atiku was never sworn in as Governor after winning the elections, rather it was Boni Haruna that was sworn in as Governor. So its Haruna's tenure.

In the case of Yar Adua/Jonathan, Yar Adua was sworn in as President after the winning elections.

The swearing-in is not the issue. The court held that governor/deputy governor have joint tenure and that explains why the deputy was sworn in otherwise another election would have to hold. People saying Gej only completed yaradua's tenure should note that the constitution does not contemplate anyone being sworn-in three times into the office of governor or president. Supposing yaradua died the day he was sworn-in and Gej took the oath of office the next day, thereby serving 4 years less 0ne day, would you in good conscience still maintain that Gej only served out the remainder of yaradua's tenure?

This is a lost case. There's no place in the constitution where they said one can't be president for more than eight years. Even in the Marwa and 1 other v. Admiral Murtala Nyako and others (SC 141/2011) case, the court held that ‘the constitution has no room for a cumulative tenure exceeding eight years.’ Emphasis on the word "tenure". Jonathan has only done one tenure of four years. The previous tenure wasn't his but that of Yar adua. Thus Jonathan is eligible for his shot at second tenure of four years.

Also if you look critically at section 137 (1), subsection b, it says: A person shall not be qualified for election to the office of President if he has been elected to such office at any two previous elections. Emphasis on the word "elected". Jonathan has only been elected into office once. The previous opportunity he had at been a president wasn't via election but via Yar adua's death. Thus Jonathan is eligible to seek to be elected into office for the second time.

This post is a wrong interpretation of the law. It's settled since the case of Boni Haruna in Adamawa state where the court held that in the present dispensation the governor and deputy have a joint tenure. And this ruling paved the way for Haruna to be sworn-in without the need for another election when Atiku abandoned Adamawa governorship he had won to become the vice-president. By this judgment, even if the governor had been sworn into office his deputy would be serving his first tenure when he assumes office as governor. The samething applies mutatis mutandi to the office of the president/vice-president. So constitutionally Gej is currently in his second term.

You guys are too young to even begin to discuss with. Up till the 90's secondary school students get admitted to higher institutions and NDA with awaiting results. Because results were usually released late by WAEC (sometimes in november) and higher institutions resume academic session september or october. Student were given temporary admission based on awaiting results and testimonials (letter of recommendation) from the secondary school. It was after WAEC releases the results that it is submitted to the higher institutions to make the admission permanent. Those who fail had their temporary admission terminated.

What the Oyinbo principal of Buhari School wrote was a testimonial to assert the intellectual and moral integrity of its students seeking to gain admission into higher institutions. I am sure that it was not only Buhari that got the letter, but all students seeking to gain admission into higher institutions.

Thanks for this clarification. As late as the early 1980s schools like sbs of Abu and other pre-degree institutions used to admit students on awaiting-result basis because they begin their program june/july before release of waec result. The admissions were provisional and those who failed waec are sent packing. Those saying buhari was recruited into army without secondary school cert may be too young to know that in the past less emphasis was placed on certificate -what matters most then was attendance. Even multinationals used to recruit university students even before they write their degree exams.
