I think its high time we Muslim understand that there's no moving forward with this kinda argument, if anyone notice a mistake in another's post, d best is to correct it as we're all learning. We don't need all these argument.
For the case of qosr, it means shortening of solat, I.e zuhr, asr, and ishai only, jamu is when u perform either solat zuhr n asri together or magrib n ishai together. May Allah accept it as an act of worship.... Ameen.
I'm willing to accept correction too as I'm not perfect.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Marriage In Islam – If One Chooses Not To Marry Or Is Unable To Get Married. by Muksodiq(m): 9:29am On Jul 28, 2017
smemud:
The first post on marriage covered the introduction to marriage and generally what Islam portrays regarding marriage.

From the topics mentioned, “If one chooses not to marry or is unable to get married” is the next topic to be discussed.

Islam is a flexible religion but has its boundaries; its flexibility allows one to adopt it as a way of life and implement its teachings into every situation; whereas its boundaries restrict man from becoming too engrossed into certain acts and therefore becoming extreme in following their desires. Flexibility and boundaries set by Islam have created a perfect balance for man to achieve good both in this world and the hereafter, it is a balance that allows man to be successful in both the worlds.
Marriage also has boundaries and flexibilities; it is a matter which has been regarded as half of one’s Imaan (religion). Marriage is taken seriously in Islam as it allows people to live in a clean and moral society where desires are fulfilled in a human and shameful manner. It is an act that increases the number of believers and will cause our beloved Prophet
ﺻﻠﻲ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﻭ ﺳﻠﻢ
to be proud by having the largest number of believers.
The Prophet of Allah
ﺻﻠﻲ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﻭ ﺳﻠﻢ
has clearly forbidden people from celibacy:
“There is no celibacy in Islam”
[Sahih al-Bukhari]

However, in life it is not always possible to adopt the Sunnah act of marriage. There come in life situations that restrict that do not allow one to get married.

Therefore, it is necessary to mention the ruling of marriage; is it Mustahab (desired/recommended), Sunnah (way of the Prophet ﺻﻠﻲ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﻭ ﺳﻠﻢ , therefore encouraged), Wajib/Fardh (obligatory).
Similarly, there will be times when marriage will be ruled as Makrooh (disliked) or Haraam (forbidden).

At this time we will deal with those rulings that concern that person who chooses not to marry or does not have the means to.
According to Imams Abu Hanifah marriage is Sunnah and recommendatory. It is an act of worship and one should strive in fulfilling this act. However, if one is in a position where he cannot control his desires then it is Wajib (necessary) for such a person to get married as he will not be able to save himself from sinning.

However, a person is excused from marrying, so much so that he should refrain from it, if he does not possess the means of supporting his wife or the capability of fulfilling her rights.

The question remains for that person who wishes to marry but does not possess the means, what should he do? Hadhrat ‘Abdullah
ﺭﺿﻲ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻨﻪ
narrates that:
“We were with the Prophet
ﺻﻠﻲ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﻭ ﺳﻠﻢ
while we were young and had no wealth whatsoever. So Allah’s Apostle
ﺻﻠﻲ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﻭ ﺳﻠﻢ
said, “O young people! Whoever amongst you can marry, should marry, because it helps him lower his gaze and guard his modesty, and whoever is not able to marry, should fast, as fasting is a shield for him (from desires).”
[Sahih al-Bukhari]

In this Hadeeth it is clearly mentioned that one who cannot marry should fast as the fasting will act as a shield for him from his desires. However, whilst doing this one should make an effort to resolve the matters that are stopping him from marrying.

As a final note, it should be remembered that not being financially able and being in a position to provide for one’s wife means the basic essentials that are necessary. Having an elegant and extravagant wedding and inviting people is not part of ‘essentials’ and is in actual fact totally discouraged and forbidden in Islam. However, in today’s society we see people going to the extent of taking out loans to organise a ‘wedding to remember.

Insha Allah this topic will be mentioned in later posts and how choosing the correct partner will save one from committing such a grave sin from the first day of such a blessed and auspicious act of worship.
May Allah give us all the courage and strength to save ourselves from the sins of desires and may He also give those people who are in need of marriage the means and a pious partner. Aameen.
Ameen.....jumaat Mubarak

You mean students didn't get flogged for not doing an assignment in the school you attended?

Your stance make no sense. If students could get flogged for not doing home work, coming to school on time etc how much more will be for a student who boycotts a subject?

If a student refuse to take a subject, he is bound to fail that subject thereby jeopardizing his chances of promotion. Such student will be kicked out. That's likely going to be the fate of Christians who boycott Arabic studies.

Now, if you say Arabic is useless, don't you think you ought to speak against the introduction of a useless subject?

Note that CAN and PFN said they have text messages from parents whose children were flogged amidst other proofs. Now, who are you to say they are lying?
Then let them bring forth these proof so that necessary action can be taken on it, n stop these baseless criticism. If CAN have d proof they ought to bring it 4wd with these, not only christain wud criticize d act, Muslims wud too.
Beside Arabic is a language n not a religion, so I c no reason y CAN n other Xtain leader sud be mad abt. No offence pls.

Sola Ogunbekun Olona wrote

I hardly dabble into unnecessary controversy but at times for the purpose of clarity and to prevent unnecessary chaos and bigotry, one may need to break the silence.

I found this piece on whatssap and depicts in totality my thoughts on the unwarranted controversy of attempting to Islamise Nigeria through the curriculum.

The New Education Curriculum: Distinguishing Rumours from Facts~~~
~~~In 2010, former President Goodluck Jonathan convened a National Summit on Education. The Summit unanimously agreed that the Nigerian basic education curriculum is unwieldy, about 20 subjects at the time, and recommended a reduction in the number of subjects offered at the basic level of education.
~~~In 2012, the Federal Government approved a curriculum reform aimed at rationalizing the subjects offering in public schools in line with global practices and standards and the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) was mandated to effect that.
~~~In 2014, NERDC came up with a 9-year curriculum with the subjects arranged into groups, producing a maximum of 12 subjects at the lower basic (primary 1-3), 9 subjects at the middle basic (primary 4-6) and 10 subjects at the upper basic (JS 1-3).
a) For primary 1-3: the subjects are: English Studies, Mathematics, Nigerian Languages, Basic Science and Technology, Religion and National Values, Cultural and Creative Arts, and Arabic Language.
b) For Primary 4-6 add (a) plus Pre-vocational studies.
c) For JSS 1-3, add (b) plus Business Studies and French Language.
NOTE: English, Mathematics, French language, Arabic Language, and Business Studies (at the upper basic) are the only subjects that stand on their own. All the remaining 17 subjects in the Curriculum have been respectively listed under various subject groupings: Religion and National Values, Nigerian Languages, Basic Science and Technology, Pre-Vocational Subjects, and Cultural and Creative Arts.
~~~2015 was the year slated for the implementation of the reform across the nation.
NOTE: While all the other subjects are core, Arabic Language at all levels is OPTIONAL.
NOTE: All the above (from conceptualization to formulation of the policy) happened under Goodluck Jonathan, immediate past President, Nyesom Wike, then Minister of Education, and Prof. Godswill Obioma, the former NERDC Executive Secretary.
~~~In 2016, in the spirit of continuity of government’s policies and programmes, the current Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu gave directives as appropriate for the implementation of the reform.
Now let us look at the bone of contention, which is related to the teaching of CRS and Islamic Studies. Under the reform, as noted above, five subjects have been grouped under Religious Studies and National Values.
These are:
A) CHRISTIAN RELIGIOUS STUDIES (CRS)
B) CIVIC EDUCATION
C) ISLAMIC STUDIES
D) SECURITY EDUCATION AND
E) SOCIAL STUDIES
The Christian Religious Studies (CRS) under the Curriculum has three themes, namely:
(i) God and His Creation
(ii) God’s Call and
(iii) Keeping God in our Relationships
Also, Islamic Studies has three themes:
(i) Qur’an
(ii) Tawhid and Fiqh and
(iii) Sirah and Tahdhid
NOTE: CRS and IRS are offered alternatively as a student is not allowed to offer both.
QUESTIONS:
a) Where did the CAN leadership and its otherwise discerning fellow travellers now threatening brimstone and fire get their idea that Christian Religious Studies was removed from the school curriculum and that Islamic Studies is being foisted on the country?
b) Why should religious leaders engage in beating the drums of war on such matters as curriculum review and playing bad politics with our educational system?
c) Are there no better ways of engagement, even when we have misgivings about a government policy? What purpose is all this overheating the polity supposed to serve?
I am a public school teacher with the scheme and curriculum at my disposal and much more facts that story is the other way round. The Muslims have only Thursdays and Fridays to conduct assembly while the Christians have Mondays to Wednesdays and the assembly becomes a revival ground . We are not complaining yet we want to Islamize Noni. I am very deep in my faith but my dealings with my colleagues of other faith can hardly be faulted, so the post below is void of religious bigotry on my side
