BIRTH STORY
Part one
According to first scan at 11weeks EDD was 16th of august , second scan 20th of august and third scan 21th of august, though not sure of LMP.
I was hoping to deliver before my edd, but labour did not come. On the 16th of august which was my edd i was expecting labour but the thing no gree show.
On the 19th was my ANC and it was on Friday, i went to the hospital and my doctor told me that since i have passed my first edd, and my second and third edd are on the 20th and 21st which are Saturday and Sunday i should wait till Monday if no labour i should come for induction on Tuesday.
On Monday i was having contractions but painless and regular but later it became irregular. On Tuesday i started having regular contractions but painless i decided to wait till 12pm to know if the contractions will be painful and to know if it was labour before going for induction, but it was not painful but regular.
I rearranged my bag, boiled water and poured it in my flask. I went to drop my ds at my mums place before going to the hospital.

Speaking of weaning, pls how do one go about it? Will i just stop cold turkey (as in all at once) or gradual? What and what can i use to reduce the pain and engorgement?
according to wat missmalachi said gradual process is the best because u wont feel much pain and d baby also wont feel it like dat.

wen i was pregnant and still breastfeeding, my milk supply reduced alot. i was making sure i breastfeed him wen he is fussy and want to sleep and in the midnight, den i stop the day time breastfeeding and continue only midnight own and finally i stopped giving him midnight own and i replaced it with tea.

i did not feel any engorgement bcus it was gradually, u can wear a comfortable bra to reduce the pain.

Hmmmm. Na wa o. Seems like an emotional process for me embarassed
I thought they said pregnancy hormones dry up the milk?
pregnacy hormones does not dry up the milk completely, but it reduces the amount of milk u produce.

[quote author=feddy27 post=49130393]Liftedhands and mumjb, for your toddlers try and reduce tv time. Let dem do more of outdoor games; riding bike, playing football, playing wit sand and toys. you will notice dey will get exhausted and start napping in the afternoon. My son naps twice; morning around 9-10am and afternoon around 2-3pm.

For night sleep, give dem warm baths, massage their bodies gently, turn off the light and let the room be quiet. when my son wakes at night, I give him either pediasure drink, tea or warm toddler milk. Once he's done drinking, put off the lights again, hold him close and he will sleep.

Please stop giving viju milk and cheese balls smiley instead give him his regular baby milk.

Try these, let's see if it works

thanks ma
my toddler naps in the afternoon.

for night sleep i do the listed, give him warm bath, we sleep together so we dont sleep with light and the room is always quiet .

i will stop giving him viju and cheese balls and switch to baby milk.

i hope he change soon.

Ah please do not give any child sleeping tablet! There's no safe dosage for a toddler you are putting him in great danger. Wow. Toddlers are very naughty, mine used to wake up anyhow until recently because we were still breastfeeding. Let him cry it out, we had to and at least from 10.30pm till 5pm she's asleep (she wakes up and goes back immediately). We tried sleep training but she resisted until now.
thanks ma

i wont give him slepping tablet.

Feed him with his heaviest meal (not pap cos pap is light, unless the pap will act as a top up after his meal) let him eat very very well , maybe it's even hunger that's waking him.

Don't feed him too early, if you go to bed around 9-10pm, you can feed him around that time.

Hope his room is well ventilated, let him be very comfortable while sleeping. When he wakes up, try giving him enough water to drink instead of viju or cheese ball and see if he will sleep back.
thanks ma for the respond
i usually feed him early around 7:30, then i give him a warm bath after 8 he is already asleep.

mayb dats d reason he wakes up at night, so i will stop feeding him early to c if he will change.

we sleep together and the room is well ventilated .

if he can eat swallow, like EBA, amala, semo , just feed him till he gets full. He will only demand for water if he wakes up.

I'm still battling with mine. My son is 22 months old, he wakes up at least 2 times to demand for food or water. He is a very light eater, his food is majorly pap and golden morn and it must be served in his feeding bottles.

pls don't give sleeping tablets. Immediately he wakes, try giving him the tea or viju fast, delaying the food can clear sleep away from his eyes.

you can put his food near the bed side.

Pele , he will outgrow it soon, Waking up every time is not easy.
thanks ma
will try giving him swallow to c how it goes, i usually give him golden morn at night.

Mummy, this is from a man's perspective and I may be completely wrong so don't take me too seriously but we experienced the same thing with our second child when she was newly born. As a matter of fact I already nicknamed her "jengbe"(yoruba moms will understand) and then later we just noticed that she stopped it. Now, she doesn't atall.

My point is, don't fret...atleast not yet.

I greet una Mummys o
thanks sir,

i really appreciate your comment, u have reduced my worries now that i know someone has experienced it and d mouth later closed i knw mine will close.
