MERCY want to marry - people are saying her husband is not fine

Mercy you've made the choice that suit you. if they feel your husband is not handsome, let them take the matter to court or go and hug a wet transformer as someone rightly said earlier.

Family / Re: What To Say About A Very Ugly Baby by mummy3(f): 5:56pm On Mar 30, 2011
deal_ordea:

A Facebook friend (and casual real-life acquaintance) of mine recently had a baby. Of course, her FB page is now littered with endless photos of her new little flesh-loaf and I am sorry to say, the child is NOT attractive.

Mind you, the kid isn't UGLY per se, but it looks like it just "isn't right" if you get my meaning.

Whenever the photos are posted there are tons of "oogie boogie" comments about how precious and beautiful the kid is. I feel compelled to say SOMETHING, but what? I can't very well put what I am thinking into words. Yet, I am the ONLY FB friend who has not made any comment about the kid since she brought it home more than three weeks ago.

Any ideas?

I think we all miss a point the lady in question want to pass across, few years ago I was at a wedding when the bride and groom have to rush off to catch a plane waiting to take husband back to base in warri rig, so the point is that the lady would have taught this would be a nice future if she can get married and do her nnpc test on same day i don't see anything wrong there, but we Nigerians our mentality keep making us poor and poor, God help us.

even it could be her husband that push her to attend the test

Thank you. Some Nigerians will never grow up from their very low thinking faculty

Stromae:

you talk like you know the woman personally. As if you know for a fact that her husband did not encourage her to go for the test.

You talk as if the husband already has a high paying job and she doesnt need to struggle for a good job.

You talk like you already know the needs of the family (no seriously sick parents etc).

You talk like everyone in Nigeria has an ''ovation'' wedding.

You talk as if the candidates knew the exam would not start by 12 but that they would be delayed to start much later.

Because you are cushioned from the hard realities of 9ja life does not mean others don't adjust to survive it. Open your mind and don't be quick to put people down, you see pictures but you don't know what she was going through in her head. Grow up please.

Thanks for attacking her
Her thinking faculty is very very low
I believe she has not done wedding traditional wedding, not to talk of White wedding
She's just envying the poor lady that's trying to make her future better

I am short of words,
Personally, am shocked.
For gods sake, its a test and not even an interview that the chances are like 50-50.
The husband has some serious issues to consider and contend with.
We talk of reasons and the rate of unemployment in the country and I laugh because we forget to address the underlying issues here.
This woman must be really adamant and stubborn that nobody could comvice her otherwise.

The exam in benin started around 5:30pm and ended 7pm, so was she able to go back for the wedding reception.

I can only imagine the confused husband and guests shaking their heads and hissing.
I am a woman too and I used to think the wedding day is the woman's most important day, this lady has proved me wrong!!!

Listen to your self
What did you expect her to do @ the reception ground again as at 5.00pm
You said the exam started 5:30pm and ended 7pm
What time do they normally start and ends wedding reception? at least between 2-4pm
You said it's a test not interview, if she doesn't go for the test will she beable to go for the interview?
I believe some of you condemning her act, have not worked in a very big organization or earn huge salary

I believe she want the management to pity and favour her. for e.g(when they see her, they'll say eyaa see this lady she came out to write the test on her wedding day, infact we must pass her)

And i also believe it will be part of her testimonies e.g(on my wedding day i went for a test @ NNPC and God has blessed me with the Job-praise the Lord).

For those of you thinking of making yourselves an Household Name, and you do "jazz" as we call it, DEATH WILL ALL BE YOUR PORTION,  NONE SENSE,

Infact your name has to be changed from lovely123 to Horrible123

You shldnt have slept in d parlour like you said, if i were you i wuld use silence to to tear him apart. Altho its not easy but you can still do dat and he wil be wondering what your next line of action wuld be.
Instead u acted like a really woman by leaving d bed to sleep in the sitting room. Were u thinking he wuld spend the whole nite begging you?
My sister just congratulate your star that d guy told u the truth dats even if  its d whole truth.
Do  u think wit ds your attitude he wuld ever want to tell u any of such again or if a woman is trying to woe him outside or in d office?
Ladies, lets always handle issues wit maturity. Whn he comes  in surprise him, with your romance, try to be unpredictable, give him his food and even feed and have hot and passionate s3x wit him. The guy go fear u eeeee and at the same time respect your maturity
Sorry i didnt mean to be harsh.

I believe you are not a lady for saying these. Do you think it's easy to receive such a message into your heart? Pls if we see the truth or fault let's handle it sincerely. so what did you want her to do after confessing before he'll show remorse. Was he not suppose to confess and plead with the wife to forgive him. now you're expecting the woman to fall down and leak his anus. Let me tell you sucking is worst, he'll now use the same mouth to go and kiss the wife. I believe he did it intentionally since he didnt show any remorse about it.

My sister just take heart, there's nothing you can do. must men are like that. That's why i dont trust any human, except God. Dont divorce him, I believe you may not really have the love / trust for him again, but try stay back and take care of your kids. Such is marital life, must marriages are like that.

Go naa!!

Just because ehn suck bobby u wan blow gasket, what of if to say ehn liberate her congo? You for kill am?!

Seriously, first of all, cut the guy some slack, its not like you caught him, he confessed to you without being under duress. That's gotta count for somethinng. Now ask yourself why would a man reach the pearly gates and not go in? That means he still has some concience left in him. I say sulk all day but you had better straighten poo out with him before you send him to another womans arm.

Remember that he had alreaady sold u a line of them being christian partners and would have exploited that line to fool around with her behinnd your back if he was most men but he didn't,

All men get tempted, many fall, some stagger, but very few would be bold enough to confess to their spouses about it except they are caught pants down,

Go back to your guy, no be ehn own bad pass,

Your respond is very bad. Dont you know it's better  for that man to keep it to himself than to open his mouth and confess to his wife raw.
It's all bad that happened that you'll tell your partner, because it can destroy your marriage.
If he really wanted the wife to know about that, there are other better way to present it to the wife. e.g (honey do you know that lady seduced me) not to the extend of telling her, he was even sucking her breast "Abba".
You too reason now, that was too raw. According to the wife, she said he didnt even feel anything after confession.

Has he always been like this or he changed overnight?

The hard part and the truth is this:your husband is a huge part of the problem by running to mom instead of staying home and working out a problem when you argue. Your problem is not with your mother in law, but with your husband. The fact that he runs to her house when you get into an argument is very mama's boyish.
Once he begins to put the marriage in its proper place, he'll be able to put his mother in her proper place.

You need to talk with your hubby and get on the same page. He has to quit running home to mommy anytime there's a problem. You guys obviously has communication problem.
Communication and mutual respect is lacking, have u tried "teaching" him?Talking with him on a good day?
Some boys just won't become men, sadly.  sad

Whatever you do,don't involve your MIL any more than this, don't cry to her or try to engage her in a discussion abt this problem.

Thanks im grateful

Like you said, i agreed with you 100%, my husband is the problem, he's been advised by his sisters not to be doing so, because they know the kind of mum they have.

We dont hide anything from each other, we communicate very well, . e.g our daily or monthly income, what we experienced while we were at work on daily basis, infact we play the way husband and wife should relate, but he's just fun of telling his mum everything, expecially when we have misunderstanding. I have a mother as well, i dont always table my family matter to my mother. My mum is understandable type, whether im right-o or wrong-o, she'll still support my hubby or be in the middle. but his mum, she takes anything my hubby tells her.
Family / Re: Your 1st Meeting With Your In-laws by mummy3(f): 12:15pm On Mar 28, 2011
afrobaby:

Though not married, am engaged. Meeting my inlaw for the first time, unfortunately, my father in-law is late, so I only met the mum, wasn't really bad. I felt relaxed because my fiance has already told me that he has d final decision on whom to marry, especially since he is the first child and the breadwinner of the family. Though meeting her at first, she was a bit cold, I even had to ask my fiance if she likes me, but later she opened up, and told me she just wanted to be sure am for real and good for her son. The first time I noticed she actually opened up was the day she saw me washing my fiance's clothes, that was before I bought a washing machine becos e no easy to dey wash men cloth especially jeans.
The main thing is, understand your fiance or fiancee, know what he/she thinks about u, if he/she has decided it's you he/she wants, just be calm and be your natural self, u will be accepted with both arms.
And did I remember to tell you am the apple of my mother-in-law eye, lol, she could not even hide the joy on the day of our introduction , that even my siblings were telling me that my mother-in-law likes me so much, lol
God help us, I pray that the love we have now will not become bitter when we finally get married o, AMIN JESU

Pray very well-o, Because atime e dey sweet for beginning then e go bitter later. According to you, you said he's the bread winner. If you get married now and start having children, the cash inflow to his mum will drop, she wouldnt want to understand if the guy is married or not. She'll say you are the one stopping her son from  giving her the way he used to. So be careful. Limit your visit, be good but minimize it. Dont allow her to get used to your too good. Im talking out of experiened.  You know mother inlaws feel their daughter inlaws are their arrival that will come and block all the good things their sons has been giving to them or that will come and divert their son's heart/caring from them.

Blazay:

Blame your husband for not being a man.
I am sure you saw that before marrying him.
You have to be a real woman and re-direct his inability to communicate with you before it gets worse.
You are on NL yourself to ask for help and so I think this is a perfect matchn of the blind leading the blind in the journey of marriage. cheesy

You are both seem helpless in your marriage with your inability to share mutual concerns.
A recipe for disaster. Start acting like a married woman and take control of your home before things get out of hand.

Why should your mother-in-law's ability to bear grudges with you pre-occupy your mind anyway? Most in-laws are like that, especially if they lived miserable lives in their own polygamous marriages of constant figjhting and case-settlements. Is she your second spouse in the marriage?
Do you want to make her your "bestest" friend in your life? :-
You need to ignore the woman and concentrate on your husband. When your husband gets the message, she will get the message too.

The way your spouse treats you, is the exact way other members of his family will treat you.
You need to start teaching him how to 'close' his mouth.
And learn to close yours too and face your problems privately.

Thanks for your response
This is not blind leading blind issue sir. I had told him gently not to be reporting some of our family issues to his mother. He's been advised by some elders not to be doing that, if he really want his mother to like me. His family members likes me due to the way i attend to them. I used to be closed to her, i decided to withdraw myself because of the way she handles I and my husband's matter.

Na today?
I bet she was the one that chose your wedding dress, food, venue and even wrote your vows,LOL.
Look, its between u and your mama's-boy husband. You have to "show" him that u are the new mama, infact the mama that has come to stay.
Try as much as possible to avoid whatever that leads to the squabbles.
Misunderstandings are bound to occur but how do u handle it?Flare up and sulk, deny him of congo or try to corner him with your feminine powers then gently make him bend?
I tell ya,that husband of urs is verrry easy to manipulate,u should be the one manipulating him, what has mama got on u?He is a grown agbaya, treat him as one;corner him with biscuit o jare!

Immediately after our misunderstanding, he'll put on his cloths and head to his mum's place for complain without me knowing. Any time we have misunderstanding, whether im wrong or right, im always the first person to apologies to him through text message or phone call, we dont keep Grudge till the next day because i dont want my kids to know that we are quarreling, and personally i dont know how to keep malice generally. . For sex i have never denied him sex, except if im having my monthly flow.

As for my sisters and brothers inlaws they like/support me, They like coming to my place, they like eating my food, they like my kids. They are always against the way their mum handles me & my husband's issue. Actually we dont have misunderstanding all the time, few time we have, he will go and table it to his mother. And he will act on any advise the mother gives him. And he likes telling me, if he act on everything his mother advice him, that our marriage wouldn't have lasted to date.
