My name is Agbakwuru, Rose Nneji. I hail from Umuike, a community in Umuonisha, Ibiasoegbe in Oru West Local Government Area of Imo State.

A large vast of land has been in dispute for over twenty (20) years now between my community and a neighbouring community in Aji-a neighhbouringgg town also in Oru West LGA, Imo State.

As a result of this, the land has been laying fallow since thhen giinggg chhances for thhe bred of so many danggerous and wild animals and reptiles.

My family and so many other families whose buildings and compounds are very close to thhe bushh hhae been on the receiingg end of the dangers and hhavoc of all these dangerous and wild animals suchh as monkeysn pythons and other animals.

These monkeys have so terrorised our community to the extent that our lives and livelihood are in great danger.

I therefore call on Imo Stete goverment and the fedeal government to come to our rescue.

I believe other reasons for unemployment is greediness on the part of the job seekers. Many job seekers are so greedy that they would want to earn a millions even without any job experience.

Also, people always compare themselves with others. Contentment should be the watchword. People should be satisfied and work hard for what they want and stop comparing themselves with others.

The get-rich-quick syndrome plays a role too in unemployment. People now crave for quick money and ignore hard work.

Unemployment is a global challenge but what really matters is the approach used to manage it. I believe that the people concerned in Nigeria are not competent in managing unemployment. Therefore, my suggestions go thus:

1. Our graduates should get in addition to their higher education, skills which will make them job creators and not necessarily job seekers.

2. The government should encourage graduates to go into agriculture.

3. We should encourage local production of goods and services. Nigeria is now becoming a country of buy and sell. If you go on our streets, all you see is boutiques (clothes and shoes).

4. The government should be sincere in fighting importation of all sorts to Nigeria.

5. Those that are gainfully employed should work with sincerity and fear of God. Many people embezzle their company money or commit one crime or the other and when they are laid off, they start complaining of unemployment.

Nigeria is our country and no one single person will make this nation a better place unless our collective effort.

i find it hard to believe that a state legislature is saying this kind of thing but it is more painful that you cannot differentiate between ciroma and imo state house of assembly. it is a shame that such comparison is coming.
