cococandy: You made some good points.
However, nature also endowed us with higher intelligence for a reason. Balance is key.
Over procreation will surely lead to diminished resources and reduced lifespan. Controlled population might be one of the reasons why the human race is still here today, Considering how destructive we are to Mother Earth. Let us explode and see how mama gets angry and wipes us off her surface. I really believe that.
The most optimal solution would be a population suited to available resources.
Monogamy while it may be unnatural for us to deliberately seek it, comes with it an order that would disappear if random procreation with different mates were to be the norm.
Unless of course one gender wants to claim themselves polygamous while maintaining that the other is monogamous. Thus brewing resentment and inequality. You answered yourself in the statement "Let us explode and see how mama gets angry and wipes us off her surface". We deceive ourselves to think that we own nature, when you take one here from nature, you give one there back to nature - matter cannot not be created or destroyed at worst it is converted to energy. Man does not have what it takes to own nature, he can refine, redesign, redistribute or develop nature by converting or transforming it from one form to another but he cannot determine nature, Man is material and a subject of the material world. If you overpopulate nature will trim you, if you underpopulate nature will punish you, the optimum population at any given time is determined by mother nature and not our science. I maintain that the natural order for procreation is superior to the unnatural and sociocultural, religious requirement for marriage. |

“Nigeria is not a nation. It is a mere geographical expression. There are no ‘Nigerians’ in the same sense as there are ‘English,’ ‘Welsh,’ or ‘French,’ The word ‘Nigeria’ is a mere distinctive appellation to distinguish those who live within the boundaries of Nigeria and those who do not” -Chief Obafemi Awolowo, 1947

Divanona: Eight years ago, with tears in my eye, I held his hand, begged him to stay with me that we will struggle together and succeed, but he refused. He walked away living me pregnant. Now, he's back without anything.
We were friends from the University, I graduated before him because I was studying a 4years course. The very first time, we tried to take our relationship serious was after my graduation. We had s.e.-x for the very first time and I became pregnant. The truth is, the guy have always been good to me throughout my stays in school. I remembered that day he sacrificed his school fees for mine so I could be able to do my final clearance. But when I became pregnant, he walked away after convincing me to keep our baby. I went through everything all by myself. Since last year, he has been apologizing on phone, so last week, I asked him to come. He traveled down to my place. Without being afraid of anyone harming him from my family, he believed in me and came. He's around in my family house, staying in my brother's room for the past 3days. He has opened up everything to me, my family members and have apologized.
now, I'm so confused with my life.
He couldn't graduate, he had problem in school after I left and all this years, he has been struggling, but now he wants to take responsibility and be with us, but he had nothing. No certificate, except diploma which he later did from another school, no job, no place of his own to stay. He had nothing. He wants us to get married and have a family.
I feel I'm about to add more burden to my already stressed life. The only positive thing here now, is the excitement my son is having seeing his father and the relationship they're building.
A part of me wants to see this guy have a great life and have direction and not see him live like this, even if I don't settle down with him. because when I meant him, he was kind, a good person, he had dreams, vision and good plans. But living us alone all this years, with all his explanations, I'm not contented.
Another part of me is confused, afraid and I feel ishould push him away and let him go back to his life and keep moving with my son because I don't have the strength to shoulder all these.
Please matured mind in the house, what do you have to say? This is my life and it's getting more confused. What would you advise? What should I do? I don't want to make more mistakes.
Sorry for my lengthy write-up He's back to you because he has no where else to go, you are accepting him because you have no man in your life. A young man that donates his father's hard earned school fees to a woman has already lost focus, no wonder he could not graduate, his problems started a long time ago, you cannot solve it. |

Nigeria can and will never the better, the politicians are useless, the youth are foolish, the standard not living is the worst. Lived in Russia for some years and regretted my decision to come back, decided to relocate to Benin republic few months ago and it was my best decision, business moving very well, I am happy here because everyone over here seems so contented with the little the have, electricity is 24/7, accommodation is monthly and affordable, no competition between "Big man" and "Poor man". Life is good here
Nigeria is a terrible place to live, Nigerians are terrible people and suffering is already in the blood of Nigerians and it seems to be normal to them which is not. I don't see myself as a foreigner here because most of the people here speaks Yoruba language. Even Port novo enjoys 24 hours light and Idi Iroko border few minutes from Port novo (5 minutes walk) suffer terrible light. gonzaga: I get personally pained when I hear people talk about Obasanjo and his supposed failure just to deflect attention from their gross incompetence and massive failures. Was Obasanjo without his own flaws? Absolutely not! But here are some of the things that Obj did that are verifiable. We can crosscheck the list with the people Tony Momoh currently serves to see how they both fared;
1. He started the contributory pension scheme which mandates employers and employee to contribute to pension. Before then, most private sector workers including Banks didn't have pension. You just retire and maybe get gratuity. Buhari will later borrow the money with nothing to show. 2. There was no health insurance before Obj. Today, most workers including myself are enjoying the scheme 3. ICPC and EFCC were his ideas 4. Excess crude account that has now been savagely depleted beyond redemtion 5. Open University that has assisted a lot of people to earn a degree while they work 6. The telecommunication we are enjoying today 7. NCC AND NIGCOMSAT were his ideas 8. The Keke NAPEP you hear today was the initiative of the Economic Adviser to OBJ. We still have keke NAPEP today 9. Obj created one of the largest middle class. people were able to afford cars for the first time and all. 10. He got our debts forgiven so that we can start on a fresh note. Go and check what it is today.
A government should be judged largely by its policies and programs.
Obj did his own, what have others done?
Thank you. Dont mind the imbeciles, Nigeria has not had a President since Obj. We were shopping jobs during Obj, changing from Telecoms to IT to Banks to Oil&Gas, today first class graduates and phd holders are begging for 40k placements. Sometimes you need to learn to outsource services that make your life imbalanced. Although you presented the issue like a light one but this can really affect your health and other aspects of the marriage, it has a good way of subtly sucking the love, romance and life of a marriage. Only a healthy man can care for his family, once you dont eat well at home, that is an excellent recipe for anger, fights and extramarital affairs. Convince your wife with love to hire somebody that can teach her how to prepare your kind of meals. When she has improved, you can disengage the person's services. Sometimes getting a cook is not luxury, please treat this situation seriously otherwise you can't be guaranteed of a happy marriage. |

I've learnt to be careful of a one-sided story, especially the woman's side of the story.
I once went out with my ex and after a wonderful evening, on our way back to the car she slipped and her foot got stuck in a hole. I was alarmed, rushed to remove her foot from the hole, carried her to the car and took her to the clinic, I had to even back her up the stairs to where she got treated and they put a bandage over her leg and we were happy again as she got better.
Hmmmmm... after breakup, I heard that I beat her so badly and sprained her leg and thats why she had a bandage on her leg. I couldn't even imagine where that story came from, I was so shocked that I didn't even bother trying to defend myself as the story was told far and wide and I was the last person to hear the news of what I did.
Countless times, I have learnt never to judge based on the story of a scorned woman - very risky. |

She lived a lonely life that drove her insane sha, she died last month with no kids. We must realize that the natural order for procreation is higher than the man-made socio-religious order for marriage. A woman must put procreation ahead of marriage, it is not a curse for a woman not to be married but a woman that does not procreate is a curse to the order of life. |

Do you think its normal for someone to eat a gorilla? See posts on nairaland, where people kill and eat lizards, monkeys, rats and all sorts of abominable creatures. These are signs of chronic impoverishment and hunger, no man that has the pleasure of preparing goats, sheep, chicken etc will opt to kill and eat a gorilla but that's the human instinct for survival, you cant preach the message of endangered species to a hungry man, the basic instinct of necessity and survival is higher and most demanding. |
Crime › Re: Ugandan Man Jailed For Killing Rare Silverback Mountain Gorilla by MurderX: 3:06am On Jul 31, 2020 |
Razzness: Africans have finally started recieving sense, i hope it reaches our turn soon. Those who say the purnishment is too harsh, all of u are mad. What shall it profit a man to kill a rare breed of gorilla? The gorilla is not becoming rare because its being killed but instead it is becoming rare based on reasons ranging from its inability to effictively reproduce in large quantities to encroachment and depletion of its natural habitat by the same humans that pretend to love and want to preserve it. Do you know how many aquatic and terrestrial species have become extinct in the development of a city like lagos? Do you know how many habitats have been distorted by such developments globally, can you also estimate the number of habitats that have been destroyed by man's onshore and offshore exploration, mining and development activities? These are the real causes of species extinction but will you prefer the existence of a gorilla to the mining of crude oil? Will you prefer the existence of a gorilla to the building of a bridge, an access road, a school or a hospital for mankind? You also cannot stop a hungry man in a war torn environment from feeding on a gorilla - he needs to eat that gorilla to stay alive. Life is a competition for survival and the stronger species will survive, they will feed on the weaker ones and get stronger while the weaker species will get weaker and die off and Natural selection will favor humans in such decisions hence he gorilla is bound for extinction. Even if this man did not kill this gorilla, one day in the future there will be a need to destroy that habitat and kill the gorillas for the progress and development of humans. |

MurderX: Razzness or rascal or whatever you are called, argue sensibly and state how many species of animals have been successfully reinstated from extinction, its only a matter of time and they surely be gone. In line with natural selection, their inability to procreate / reproduce effictively enough to maintain their existence is already an indication that they are no longer supported by nature and man cannot enforce their existence. Also argue with the reason why animals that are directly useful to humans for nutrition and other applications never go extinct. What are the direct efforts for the preservation of chicken, goats, etc from extinction. Note that species are preserved based on their value to man and the ecosystem and any species that become worthless to the ecosystem and mankind will slide to extinction. Life is about resource and value addition, the ecosystem cannot utilize its scarce resource to preserve any organism that does not return value, existence is about value addition. Natural selection will favour those species and animals that are useful and have the traits that enable them to best survive. Natural selection chose the human race and homosapiens over the apelike homoerectus and the homoerectus had to become extinct, imagine homosapiens attempting to preserve homoerectus - that will be a futile effort because it is their time to go. There's nothing that could have been done for the Dinosaurs to be preserved because it was their time to go. Even in the human race, natural selection favors some humans over others and there is nothing you can do about that. No matter what you do, life and nature has placed the average European on a favorable pedesatal above you sub-saharan African. The energies and forces of nature react to a futuristic objective and we are products and victims of nature and that furturistic objective hence the earlier we realize and respect mother nature, the better for us humans. |
