I spoke to my father-in-law,a Fulani man himself, a while ago (due to my personal relationship with him, this was the first time I have ever considered the farmers-herders clashes from the perspective of a Fulani man), he explained certain delicate and complex intricacies that makes the proposed ranching system, that used to me a very straightforward one, now seem quite problematic IN THIS PRESENT MOMENT.
The laws in our constitution are not the laws of nature. These laws, as stated in our constitution, are created considering human peculiarities, such that 'general' beliefs even though inclined towards sentiments, as long as they are adopted by a represented reasonable minority and such that IT IS POSSIBLE THERE COULD BE A WAY AROUND THEM with the conditios that it does not threaten the ORDER in the country and the fundamental rights of others (the majority) is not infringed upon.
Having stated the above, it is easy to see that the problem with the proposed Ranching System is that while it is a very logically straightforward solution, it is not the most considerate, therefore not the most appropriate (at least in the short term) and using a method analogous the Occam's Razor for solutions in politics and human relations is unreasonable in my opinion. Open cattle rearing is a culture and proposing a change in this culture must be approached as sensitively as other important cultures of the other tribes. One does not expect that a culture be abandoned overnight, nor that laws guiding a country be entirely insensitive to the peculiarities of the people bound under it.
As in developed worlds, these are the kinds of problems that are confronted by Political scientists, Economic analysts and sociologists, putting forward a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of THE PROBLEM OF HERDERS in the country.

Then they should practice their age-long traditions and culture in their land where everyone is local and upholdssych culture. They shouldn't come and forcefully dispossess people in other regions of their land and property just because of Fulani nomadic culture. That is absolute BS!

It just a simple error and ur already running mad..
It takes some high level of professionalism for a force to admit it wrong . something u can never find in any ministry or agency in Nigeria.. Biko appreciate them
Ur talking about the IDP bombing...please go and compare it to what the US military has done to innocent civilians during a war..let not go to Russia or Vietnam.

You're just crazy. So what is the connection between operations by the US during a war and the Nigerian military at peace time? How can they stupidly mix up their coordinates and hit an IDP camp instead?

Continue enabling mediocrity and stupidity in those that should be held to a higher standard!
Politics / Re: Nigerian Airforce Apologizes For Using Old Photos As Images Of Marte's Battle by mushystuff: 7:03am On Jan 20, 2021
Such a shame! Reactions as usual show how mediocre as a people we have become, easily satisfied and appeased by empty words without demanding excellence or accountability! Why aren't we hearing of someone resigning, reprimanded by way of demotion or even sacked?
Tomorrow some careless personnel will commit similar blunders and the military command will cover it up with some mealy mouthed apology only because they were caught pants down! If Sahara did not spot this, they would have gotten away with their lies!

That is how they used airstrikes to murder IDPs about 2-3 years ago in Borno and all we heard was useless justification without compensation and justice for victims and even those left traumatized!

Lol...good thing we don't 'hate' all Northerners just because they are from the North. Also wonderful is the fact that someone like Bishop Kukah, also a Northerner, constantly points out the ills of this administration spearheaded by Buhari. Buhari's antecedents are clear for all to see, he is dull, full of nepotism and bereft of beneficial ideas. It's easy to see why sane Nigerians rejected him from Day 1 and still do except of course you just choose to remain dishonest.

So people stuck in traffic on front of their office should carry their vehicles on their heads because the DSS is some fearsome deity or what? If you are in traffic waiting to move, have you parked? If they don't want vehicles in front of their gate they should create another access/entrance away from that busy road or ask government to relocate that office for security reasons, not harass or intimidate innocent citizens!

She did not park in front of their office

I know the road she's referring to ,CMD Road in Ikosi, Ketu.

The issue is that sometimes traffic builds up from Magodo junction and goes across the gate of their office. When this happens they come out and start intimidating drivers who are on the queue in front of their office. Minding your business while standing in the queue on a public road does not constitute breaking the law in anyway!

Coronavirus is real!

God bless Nigeria.

Has it occured to you that even requiring citizens to appear physically just to book an appointment between the hours of 9am to 1pm, (only 4 hours daily and knowing the lazy attitude of government workers) still massively defeats the purpose of supposedly not spreading the COVID? If social distancing is really adhered to, how many Nigerians can they successfully attend to before the very unrealistic deadlines set by Pantami and co?

Why is this insensitive policy being implemented now in the midst of a health pandemic? Why can't appointments be secured online and then physical capturing done with utmost care? Some of you need to really evaluate issues before empty commendations!

It is a shame that Even with the humongous earnings generated from sales of oil products, government is battling with payment of a meagre and abysmal sum of 30k, worse-still price of goods and services keep skyrocketing

It is not when your demonic fulani brethren known as hoodlums, bandits, herdsmen, kidnappers, boko haram and criminals generally attack farmers then that heap of shitty garbage will come out to say victims did not get clearance before going to farm!

I also hope he has told them to keep their cattle away from people's farms? Abi he is seeing planted crops as a source of free food for cows he regards with the highest esteem?

I am seeing "must" quite frequently in what Bubu has been saying , I hope he's not really going to turn into a dictator

We must eat what we produce but most farmer who know nobody are not getting fertilizer or ridger, tractor, even spray chemicals from LG or Agric

We must eat what we produce, but herdsmen are having a field day with farmers, Boko haram is playing football with people's beheaded head

The border you closed didn't yeild any results, the hopes for farmers have been dashed oh and the seeds , stems , supposedly imported by this government to be distributed to farmers , that one too is voicemail

We must eat what we produce but those rice plants are not functioning 100%

When everything goes to shit , nobody will escape the fallout

Ha! When did you wake up from zombie trance? Wonderful something!

lynx200:
Hi people,

I recently discovered my National Identification number slip is missing. I am trying to get another one. The NIMC website says all one needs is the payment of N500 through Remita at any bank and the presentation of the receipt at any enrollment center. But with the non-challant attitude of NIMC staff, I am wondering if its the right way to go.

I want to know if there is anybody on this forum that has encountered such a problem and reprinted their NIN slips successfully and how it went. I need the slip for a foreign transaction. Thanks.

I have had to reprint mine in 2018. I was asked to pay N500 through Remita but was informed at the 2 banks I went to that the Remita platform for NIMC was down. I then went back to their office, complained to a staff and after demanding N2500, my slip was re-printed. With that I was able to pick up the plastic ID same day.
