You actually think it is normal and proper to have the receipt of all items you own on your person at all times? Was there any report that your particular brand of laptop had been reported missing hence the search and demand for a receipt to prove ownership? Stop blaming the victims, the police needs to be educated and stop taking advantage of innocent Nigerians. SmartPolician: Calm down
SARS once stopped me because I didn't have my laptop receipt.
You see, sometimes, the issue of SARS has to do with pride from us the civilians. They wanted to search me, and I allowed them.
Why should I be worried when I had to skeleton in my closet?
One of the officers insisted on taking my laptop to the station because I didn't have the receipt.
I asked him the station they were taking it to so that I could present my receipt later and pick up my computer.
The guy gave me back my laptop at once and asked me to appreciate them with something.
I gave him #1k
You see, sometimes, you need to understand that these guys are doing their job. You don't have to be boastful or arrogant when they interrogate you.
Like their boss once said, the way SARS treats you chiefly depends on how you respond to their questions.
I concur because I have had a first-hand experience. |

sweetrace: Why don’t you live by your own words and give people the benefit of doubt. You can start by getting off your high horse and stop talking in such a patronizing way. The guy in the picture looks unkempt. Period! We usually address people based on the impression they give. When we do get to know them, out impressions may change. As for Hitler, it is true that history describes him as being nondescript in appearance. But his words were that of a murderous mad man. That would have sent me running. So please get off your high horse. There is nothing about that guy in this picture that will make me associate with him. If I should meet him on a day he appears clean and sane, then I will associate with him. Like I said, be charitable or remain silent and keep your judgmental impressions to yourself until there's a damned good justification! |

It is the crazy look in his eyes. He looks like an addict on the verge of madness. I read where someone said he is very kind. With the way he looks, I certainly don’t want to find out. And there lies the problem! While no one is asking you to find out because you probably do not have the requisite qualifications, the least you can be is charitable and positive as long as he has not attacked you in any way or been violent towards you. Hitler with all his inhuman crimes and heartlessness towards the Jews, what was his appearance like? All these demonic politicians we have that rob us blind every day, how do they look? However they will go and raid football centres, attack and arbitrarily detain young people on the streets going about their business for what? Stop vehicles on the road and demand to search phones failure of which an innocent person is branded a criminal and accused falsely! The torture and hell faced by citizens in their cells nko? SilverNorGold: No, IPOB is scared of Nigeria for reasons best known to the group.
But I suspect it has to do with over entitlement of some bunch of lazy youth. Youth who are afraid of competing with other competitive youth. Youth seeking shortcut to success.
You claim the Fulanis and the Yorubas are dominating. Brother tell me, do they have two heads? You attack successful Igbo men for being pro-Nigeria. Brother, tell me, do they have two heads?
Why is IPOB so cowardly? Why can't they compete with other youth? Why are they scared?
This is a question you should be asking Nnamdi Kanu. It's better than peddling cheap rumors and propaganda every now and then. Your assumption that IPOB is scared to compete is predicated on a very wrong n flawed premise. However, assuming without conceding that your position is correct, why is it a crime to decide to stay away from the so called competition and forge one's own part separate from others? Is it an act of terrorism to demand at least a formal discussion of terms of existence or outright separation? Are the destinies of all ethnic nations in Nigeria inexorably tied together? If an arrangement does not suit you is it not best to walk away than continue in an unworkable situation? On a final note, it is absolutely dishonest to claim IPOB disseminated the information that Iyamu has now debunked. You know very well that the Edo elections have absolutely no relationship with IPOB but you deliberately weave them in just for whatever reason. You may need to reevaluate who the actual coward is. |

LandMann: PDP's penchant for always doing everything to promote corruption, hatred and division along religious and ethnic lines is quite repulsive.
They have the resources to fight a code seeking to penalize hate speech and fake news so as to weaken governance in Nigeria, and so that they can continue spreading all manner of fake news and hate speech through all the channels they have, but they can't devote same resources to pushing for a law that prescribes death penalty or life imprisonment with no option of pardon for public officials found guilty of corruption.
They keep reminding Nigerians daily of how corrupt APC is but they will never take a decisive step to end the corruption... They are mostly only interested in sewing hatred in the minds of Nigerians against the other party so that they can get the opportunity to grab power and continue the looting from where APC stopped.
Meanwhile, APC as a party has become all talk and no action. Buhari is supposed to be championing the fight against corruption head on because that's the only legacy he can leave behind, as he's already old and will soon join his ancestors... this he can do by asking the AGF to forward a bill to the national assembly seeking to strengthen the law and effect MAXIMUM punishment on public officials found guilty of corruption.
Unfortunately, he is either too docile, or surrounded by too many looters who will rather see Nigeria die a slow and painful death through their reckless looting than witness any meaningful progress in this geographical space.
APC needs to stop playing to the gallery... We see beyond the facade and fake fight against corruption.
PDP should equally up their game and tactics of opposition politics... They will continue to remain the second choice for majority of Nigerian voters if they continue this their nonsensical politics of looting and aiding corruption.
A society where corruption thrives can never witness any meaningful progress.
Thank you
@bold: It's more likely that he's the chief looting shareholder providing a viable looting platform for his cohorts, that's why he's absolutely comfortable with the status quo and even now demands that they defend his government at all costs. |
