Avram Grant welcomes Ashley Cole back into his squad for Sunday's game against Everton, pleased to be back on home turf again.

It has been a good Friday for our left-back, having first been named in the England party for the Euro 2008 crunch fortnight ahead and then having his readiness for club action confirmed by his manager.

'Ashley has trained now for three sessions with us. He is available,' Grant announced.

'Of course after a bad injury he needs some time to train to be at his best but he is available for the next games.'

There is still work to do in the treatment room and on the pitch under the direction of the medical staff for some of Chelsea's other recent wounded. Ruled out for the visit of the Merseysiders are Petr Cech, Paulo Ferreira, Michael Ballack and John Terry who has not made the England squad.

'John likes to train and play everyday, 24 hours a day, and I would be happy if he was in the England team, but he knows the situation,' Grant continued.

'He is not fit for the moment but I think he is going in the right way and I think he will be fit in two weeks.

'We need to take care of him because he always gives his body for Chelsea and his country. Now we need to take care of him because he had a lot of injuries and I think this is the last one - I hope!'

In a repeat of the 2005 final, Chelsea have been draw at home to Liverpool in the quarter final of the Carling Cup.
