One cannot dictate what they should do but it doesn't look like these guys are in need of money. Our culture of financially rewarding people for any news will continue to encourage entitlement mentality and expectation of reward for any act. I wish they donate the money to a good cause and also publicize it. Money in, money out. By the way, when is she meeting the Emir of Kano ![]() |
Do you think the criminals will rest on their oars? You have to be one step ahead of the game you companies. Some Nigerians don't care about plagiarism, they copy your stuff and pirate products. This is not surprising but what efforts have been made to remove the fake app or imitations? No business is immune to this. There was a time they cloned bank websites and only a few discerning people noticed the difference in the URL... |
Nairaland, once a good forum to rub minds. Now a gossip site. No longer challenging intellectually. Hence, the domination of sex and tribal comments. |
Why are we discussing the comments of a Presidential aide The use of anonymity shows that the person was not authorized to speak and this can't be official. End of.We need to discuss this plea for anonymity our journalists use. Many times, we are made detectives with different stuff thrown here and there for us to make cement out of sand. This makes our newspapers no different from blogs where we have to discuss anonymous comments. Yes, journalists need to protect their sources but making an anonymous comment a news subheading leaves much to be desired. Don't stress us. |
Royle2014:I hope this explanation shows the OP that there's time for everything. This person has answered the question and included the effects. You pay the price for forcing nature's wind to blow on you when it hasn't yet got to your environment. Those side effects and 1 year ritual may make you more uncomfortable than what you wished for. |
Treasuredlove:Do you know what was the symbolic tool in the past? People are now switching to kerosene and other petroleum products. They could even use detergent and these things hurt parents who guarded their infants from harmful products but they grow up to willingly harm themselves. It's not about the tool used for suicide - there was a time ropes were handy tools and people stopped having ceiling fans. People falling off buildings, people crossing a busy road, people jumping off bridges. Are we going to stop all these too? There are 1001 ways to die just as there are 1m ways to stop them if we have the right environment and this can actually start with us. There are a lot of sources and pressure. People are built differently and react differently. I just read a comment where a lady was talking about hurtful comments people make due to her barren state but don't know the pain she's going through. Social media has just projected our traditional approach to gossiping and talking ill of people. Before, you only heard the comments if someone said it to you. Not everyone had the 'liver' to come approach you but today, 'comment is free' and unguarded online. Some need social media detox. To worsen it, the environment is not giving hope and these guys ask themselves what's the purpose of life? Don't think that you're not a potential suicide man or woman - it only takes one event or change in circumstance to trigger that action but then again, our response mechanisms differ which is why we need to be careful with ourselves. African proverb says, "words are like bullets, once shut, they can't come back". |
Wallade:The funny thing is that the job he is asked to protect can be at risk once another disgruntled employee takes the company up on this. For such a person, there's nothing to lose and all employees are still affected. Either way, reporting or not reporting, or for companies not remitting, all parties are at risk. Foolish way to run down a company. The law can be an ass but flouting it can also make an ass of you. It's a good topic though because quite a number of people don't know their rights (don't ask or bother to check payslips as long as they receive alerts) and keep working like contractors. It also serves as a good reminder of what to look out for in and know if you get correct work. |
ThePreachersSon:Please load more. I want to see like 7 - 10 because dressing is part of people's culture and the suit, though used widely is not what every person is comfortable with. |
ThePreachersSon:Which Sultans and Emirs from the Middle East? Please state some examples |
krissconnect:FYI, this is part of their job. |
Airpods are warned. The school definitely has a serious problem when its students are distracted or not using earphones properly. Talking about backwardness, it's not necessarily so and this is something institutions are battling with regarding millennials. Some of them don't want to transition to responsible adults but want the freedom. Every action comes with responsibilities, so if the school cannot afford to monitor all students' ears, they'll do what's best for them to avoid students putting them into trouble. Aside millennials, drivers, cyclists and joggers are also warned and lives have been lost due to people's distractions using phones or listening to audio that prevents them from concentrating with their current environment. It's when your loved one has been affected by a distracted driver or you've become a murderer because someone forgot to pay attention on the road that this will hit home. Stay safe and 'listen responsibly'. |
He added that anyone who will say he was wrong for returning the money to the government is a “thief.” |
ExAngel007:That's the most important part of the picture. Those who placed members of the public at risk. Including the distracted ones |
quintessence007:AIDS no dey show for face |
He said, she said. How's she so sure of her parents' genotype? Has she seen her parents results before? It's possible they may not have been both AA. It is also possible that her test results may be wrong. Both ways, confirm parents' status and let her redo the test somewhere else. |
Birthday invasion You'd think the venue was the Bidvest Wanderers Stadium. Nigerian bloggers and exaggeration |
The GSM companies are diversifying their revenue sources. It is up to NCC to get in here. This is not about running multiple apps in the background or using Facebook and all that. The companies are behaving like Banks, seeking lazy ways to make money because you need that service |
overboard:You sef see am. I must have thought I was looking at some 1997 logos! |
overboard:You're right about the Orange Mobile.
|
The logo is simple and I'm surprised some peeps have issues with them. This logo is a repeat of what occurred when UBA 'merged' with STB; UBA's logo had to be modified to take in STB's S. Here, Diamond Bank's logo replaced the chevron sign of Access using their color. I will miss the chevron sign of Access Bank's logo as that had a lot of meanings. Now that they've removed it, does it mean they have gotten to the last destination? If you know, you know! |
Lagos State Government still has a lot of work to do in enlightening the people who always crowd these events. They don't know the harm they are exposing themselves too. |
Tax payers don't know what to do with their money. Obviously |
One of the fundamental points we are missing is that Stephanie is unemployed. People seem to be ignoring that side of the story. Success video has highlighted the problem in our institutions while Stephanie, for me as shown us the evidence of youth employment in Nigeria. Twin problems affecting two generations. Money being used at the right places will address both problems not gifting of cash. If you cannot manage 200 naira, how do you manage 200k? That's for both parties. We are providing solutions in the wrong place and that is the problem our leaders have created - stashing money and when they choose to distribute it, distributing to the wrong places. The society does not function well. |
If you don't hear from a company after an interview, don't go there unannounced demanding to be answered. It will backfire. |
Honor10:It is an insult to write "another Yakubu" except it's another Yakubu we don't know playing in the NPL. |
I saw that part on NYSC. “On NYSC, the Amendment states: (14) (i)‘’The Directorate of the National Youth Service Corps shall ensure posting of graduate engineers and technologists to places of relevant professional engineering experience. (ii) Pursuant to the provision of subsection (i), the Directorate of National Youth Service Corps shall communicate the location of graduate engineers and engineering technologists to the Council.’’ Can they just make this general? It's an abuse to keep posting untrained corps members as teachers. Maybe just then, corps members will not feel frustrated with the NYSC scheme if they can apply their education to relevant areas. |
MrBrownJay1:I see your point. Only a woman knows who is the true father of her children. Apply that to both women here! |
MrBrownJay1:What do you mean by their? The man and his wife or the man and his concubine or both? ![]() |
MrBrownJay1:His child for another woman. |
Very petty. As adults, we realise that some of the things we did when younger don't make sense. No need to keep digging the past. Be a bigger person by connecting him with that job sef. There are better ways to clapback and everyone still wins. |
GloShare:Good gesture but why not we channel our resources to holding elected officials accountable? If you continue to feed the government, they will continue to milk you since they know you'll do their work out of frustration. |
Whobedatte:It is not everything that needs to be published. What bloggers do all in the name of traffic is irritating. What is more irritating is the mods who don't seem to know their left from right by posting this on front page. @dominique |
