I'm more interested in the (his) story than the summary. Where's the full transcript? Thanks in advance |
He will claim he bought it and did not steal it. That's also possible ![]() |
This is really going back into the old times. |
Nairaland is like any other social media platform. How many decades have you spent on Facebook and co |
We ought to read and understand this, oughtn't we ![]() Your audience go think say na Huffington you dey talk |
androidroot:History itself can mislead us if we read the wrong sources. Most times the accounts are from those who want to project themselves in positive light or simply don't understand other's cultures. A foreigner will call other people's cultures barbaric because he couldn't understand what they were doing and that will be written and read for centuries I'm sure things will change. With YouTube, Google forums, people will not just rely on history classes, they'll have live conversations disputing, validating and correcting history. A journalist wrote about this in the 2014 WC about why Argentina has no black players compared to other South American teams. |
Adukey:Yes that's why I should fail and not beg to pass. Honorable failure. I detest those who beg their way. It's unfair to others. Na bribery. lol too |
Argentina’s “self-image coexists with continued manifestations of racism. The same article explains that when the Argentine soccer team was to play either the Brazilian or Nigerian team in the Olympic finals, a sports newspaper ran the headline, ‘Bring on the Monkeys.’ ”This is a very interesting topic. The little I know about them is that there's a hidden system of blackout and somehow it affects the population. The Argentine will tell you that they ended slavery long before Brazil so you can't see much blacks there. For example, the black woman could be typically seen as a LovePeddler or Brazilian - she can be easily assaulted on the streets but this could just be fetishism too. There's even a phrase that the black man is Brazil's problem, so they assume that such person must be Brazilian. Such goes a long way to let you know the issues they have. It doesn't mean the average Argentine is racist but it's the same with what would happen in an African community that has 99% black people, they'll simply stare at any foreigner because the skin color is different. What you can't take away from them is that they're nationalistic in nature. They're proud of themselves and consider themselves superior (not just to blacks alone but to everyone else). They have a lot of issues with military rule, unemployment and the economy in general, so maybe their lack of prosperity has not magnified their society as we would want to see. I have read accounts of people who have traveled there as blacks but there's one thigh in general, have fun visiting than living there. Who knows, in 200 years time, things may change and more blacks will migrate there as the world integrates more. |
Adukey: ki10:Y'all for real This is why Nigeria will continue having issues. Corruption isn't just about money. It starts from corrupting positions and the system then justifying it with sentiments and excuses. |
calcal:They are not the same. One is for Europe, the other is for Africa but both remain continental tournaments recognised by FIFA. |
hemartins:That's the title of the movie |
It's every parent's duty to take care of children but how does a broke person fund any form of support? Ironic especially if his name is Billion. |
Do they have anything against Luka Modric? I would have said Messi but we don't need him to be punished twice and we're playing them last. Eagles' opponents need some distractions ![]() |
cezarman:"Dear Nigerian Entertainers" "They support you, return the favor" ![]() I quite agree with you on the approach but she's no wrong in her opinion |
Ximenez:Do you know her stories? Do you know how many of her family members may have suffered SARS attack and she hasn't told the world yet? I recall she went to UNILAG too so chances are high that she could have someone close with such experience but that doesn't deny her the right to a different approach. I wouldn't even bother with the hush puppy response as that one too is typical of Nairalanders. The last time I checked the meaning of Entertainer, Mo Cheddah qualifies to be one. Many times, it is during interviews you hear artistes talking about some experiences the public never knew of. It's social media and we all have our ways to it. She could ensure that she has contacted the DPO of the area (which is not typically her duty but the management company) to help with attendees, it could be that she's doing whatever. We don't know. What we do know is that she has not been insensitive with her response. If she had said something condemning the critics of SARS, we can blame her but I see nothing wrong in what she said. We are just too emotional that we like attacking people rather than issues. |
Nigerians have a HUGE PROBLEM with accommodating diverging views. So huge the problem is that it's across social media sites. They both have valid points and arguments. Not every artiste may publicise what he or she has done. Everyone has got different methods and the way guys here are abusing the lady for being a woman is a serious problem. Abusing someone because they are not so popular is very silly because fame is transient. One act can make you lose all your popularity in a second. This lady apparently took a break to give birth to her child and there are so many vile statements already. Internet is free but karma isn't costly. Don't think your freedom to type what you like has no effects. No wonder some of these celebs have issues. If they read half of what some people write and take it seriously, they could commit suicide. The way we attack people who don't hold our views is an exhibition of insecurity. To each his own. |
Dpharisee:Sometimes the way you bigots engage in your deceit, it's simply amazing and not worth discussing. What happened to the President from Niger Delta when he was President? What has happened to the present Minister of Transport who is from the Niger Delta? |
theoldpretender:One time, Shina said "God is not a Russian" or something like that. I was like OMG! Another time, he said Emmanuel is one of the younger ones taking over and I was like what's all these? The commentary had been diluted by some stale jokes and off-target additions. He even went ahead to tell us the percentages of Christians, Muslims etc in Russia. I somehow felt pity for the Nigeria Info gang because there was a huge difference between their commentary and the older ones. I hope they get to see this because the world cup just started and I have no problem mixing old wine with new blood but they can be rest assured this partnership will not work well in the current state. The total package needs to be improved upon. |
Until NBS declares him the tallest, this is unofficial |
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it Rob van Dam? mighty2:Sorry. Only World Cup on our minds now and this is the first thing that came to mind.
|
david0007:Harassed by who? It's commonplace in most countries not to see Uber or the likes operating at the airport. Some countries do not allow any signal for you to order a taxi, only airports taxis are allowed. In Nigeria's case, you need to be registered with FAAN to operate and the companies are not ready to do that yet. Moreover they can drop passengers at the airport. |
What are your thoughts on the Kwese-BON-Nigeria Info live commentary on the World Cup? It's like I'm listening to NTA/Radio Nigeria. The blend of old and young is appreciated but this has old style written all over it. There's so much spirituality in Sina's commentary that he has involved God in the Russia vs SA match. |
Hope UNIABUJA students and management have learnt from the so called shuttle struggle? Don't copy Lagosians please. There's nothing safe in rushing to get a bus. Just adopt a queue system pending when management gets more buses. Common sense is very common haba. I am wondering how those with wheelchairs will compete with the rest in this scenario. I will ignore the composition of the OP's message. |
OP make u no vex. 6 - 4 =? Help me Google the answer. Don't play with our minds by giving us birthday age vs army age. |
Helping the tailors adjust their patterns. Production! |
Folks will prolly think it's Angola |
Wey di wahala? Can't make conclusions from a 30 sec clip |
PurplePatch:Had Morocco not treated Africa with disrespect by refusing to host AFCON at the last minute, Africa would surely had been in unison to vote for them? Actions have effects It also has nothing to do with backward or forward. Take a look at the results and see for yourself that countries voted differently. I like that Spain abstained. They have Mexico or Morocco to choose from. |
thoollz:The best thing is that they are Nigerians. They are within their domain. |
Disaster waiting to happen and when it happens we begin to call on God instead of our negligence. I think Lagosians are comfortable with this because they have complained and got used to this. What could occur - fire, bad roads (and weakened bridges), dirty environment (they eat, drink and defecate on the roads) leading to health issues and loss of income due to traffic. In any other society, the two issues of waste management and these tankers are enough to let a party lose elections. Smart city indeed. |
You need to understand their business model. These are observations but there's nothing against them. If you want to appreciate Taxify, work as a cab/taxi man first then you'll get the drift. Also remember they have to do some things that Uber isn't doing yet to have a competitive edge over them. |
