OluDare01:Ok sir but you know that in such places, anything from 28° or about that is what you can compare to normal weather of ours? I internationally put that weather degree there. Oh yes, 18° can be cold. Cheers |
AutoReportNG:Hello. To you and all other bloggers there. You can not source for a picture and then put your watermark on it. Don't try it with some people out there. What you did is like taking a Reuters or AP picture, then writing AutoReports on it. Writing the sources is not enough permission for you to put a label on the pictures. Take note Do some Google search on image copyrights. Even Google now allows you to see the rights you have over pictures when you search. If you think it's no big deal, wait till they sue you. |
OluDare01:He is not entirely incorrect. Russia is close to the artic. Though it could be called summer, the weather still feels cold especially for the typical African man who isn't used to such. Today's weather in Moscow is 18° It's one of the considerations for choosing the host cities. Check on social media today to see how Nigerians and other Africans in Russia are reporting how cold it is despite being in summer. |
Idrismusty97:Because of #MeToo, beauty organizers in US are now abandoning the swim suit parade. They want them to be solely judged by their intellect. Surprised it took them this long to realise this https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/jun/05/miss-america-swimsuit-contest-no-longer-judge-appearances-feminism |
nextstep:Thank you for posting my thoughts |
nuti:Hope you're aware that it'll be insulting to those who wear lip plates to equate their practice with aproko. Lip plates have nothing to do with lies or speaking. Take note ![]() |
Rapoo:You're the one reacting out of context. It's just a public forum, do not take any comment personal. I hear your definition of class. What I know is defined by class is a set or category of things having some property or attribute in common and differentiated from others by kind, type, or quality or showing stylish excellence Those qualities of differentiation and style mark it for me. Cheers |
I wouldn't expect a lawyer to argue with stats. Even though stats can make you say anything you want it to, it's dangerous politics to be expressing doubt over OFFICIAL figures. This is one reason we can't have census figures or evoting |
Rapoo:What's the craze with suits? Why do Africans have a complex issue when it comes to viewing and appreciating our attire? In fact, if they could put on Agbada and Danshiki because of the cold, let them do so. If Ahmed Musa wants to put on the turban sef, let him do so. If Rohr wants to put on shorts, let him but it's the effect of the media when they feature foreign attire so much that you like it better than yours and see it as standard. Irony is that this people you want to copy are looking for our own clothes due to the unique designs and colors. The suit has a purpose and if it doesn't suit us, there's no need to suit up! It's amazing when you OP define Iranians as class and ours as cultural heritage. Define class please. |
nijabazaar:Divisiveness will always be brought in by those who want to. What about Tofa and those who say Yoruba Muslims? For Nigerian elections, the elections in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd republic tell us some things. |
punisha:This comment of yours is loaded - yes, Nigeria has a dysfunctional system but many times, we don't realise we went to school to get an education. It is not only in Nigeria that you have people like you who studied A and did B. You went to SCHOOL to get an education. The UNIVERSITY trained you and gave you a degree. The expectation is to work in a related field but it doesn't always start or end that way. When you are made the Head of West African operations or work in an international bank, your BSc in IR begins to make sense. That's the transferable knowledge you have. When you get a job in the UN or embassy and you guys have to deal with financial institutions, your bank experience beings to make sense. Oh, what if you visit Germany, speak German and a client simply needs someone like you to deal with their Swiss clients? Oh, now you see how studying German language for 4 years may not be a waste of time. So, what's the essence of my post? Your education wasn't a waste of time. You're only acquiring experiences to probably be that future rich man you're aspiring to become. This same education is what some of these rich guys crave for because, yes they have income but have little knowledge of the market or system. They have dubious managers who dupe them, marketers who lure them and other issues that make their riches fizzle out in the next minute. So bro, we are on different lanes. Trade does bring income but what about management? I like that Cesc Fabregas went to school while playing because it happens to most footballers that after their active years, they are switching to another career and money can easily go without proper investment. Those of them who went to school and studied pundits; took a course, attended press conferences after the matches get into sports media easily because those experiences exposed them to the inner workings of that industry. Macron worked in Lagos but there was one thing he was acquiring - experience using English language. Though he got a job in a related field, he still needed to acquire something else that could have been easily ignored. He could have chosen to go to other Francophone countries but today, he is French president and multilingual too. He needs no translator when he gets to G7 meetings and during some foreign visits. Many at times, we are only taught how to graduate in Nigeria but not taught how to explore. No experience or knowledge is useless. It could be working with an Alaba boy, it could be learning Swahili, it could be visiting the stadium every weekend, it could be hanging out with the police men - they are all acquired experiences. There is a process to get to where you want to get to. School is just teaching you the basics while experience makes knowledge to be easily applied. It is how you transfer the relevant knowledge and experiences while remaining focused in your career that matters. EXPLORE! |
BabaIbo:Good, why not let us do the %s? Also recall that 2015 saw the introduction of card readers and PVC. Point 1 - Yorubas will not unite if the person is not from the South West. Well, 2011 results shows how this was untrue. Point 2 - this is where I know the numbers may make the point not obvious but like I said earlier, despite the card readers, look at the %s and who was voted for. 2011 was widely distributed due to the candidates contesting but 2015 was Mr A vs Mr B. Anyway, I hope we can both agree that election is just a number game. That x% voted for me does not mean they all spoke with one voice. It's data manipulation when some people try to ignore some little numbers too |
TheKingIsHere:Like it or not, Abacha is still revered especially in Kano. Go to Kano today 20 years after his death and you'll still see his signs. He remains a god there and I will not be surprised to see his produce win an election. |
eezeribe:Thank you for mentioning this. Most public buildings are designed without considering those with disabilities. Those who have to use crutches have consistently challenged Nigerian banks for failing to cater for them right from the security door which prevents them from gaining entrance. |
I just hope beyond the prayers, there are actual emergency plans should such accident occur. Nigeria wasted the lives of its future leaders when a plane crashed at the PH airport but emergency rescue failed to save some of the victims. That's at the airport o not a bush or forest, airport! |
Bash92:You're correct. Political consciousness may just be a sophisticated way of expressing opinions without actions. There is a realisation that numbers do the work and that's what matters with the results. Take a look at uncollected PVCs data released by INEC. It will tslus something too. |
BabaIbo:2015 election results.
|
BabaIbo:Indeed. I normally don't respond to tribal stuff here because I know it's just a waste of time but please take a look at the 2011 election results.

Hope 93, USA 94! renewa29. That talk of CCTV is doable but not actionable. Just like e-voting. Nigeria can easily do things like these but there's no willpower by the ruling class. The same corruption makes them doubt if someone will not tamper with e-voting or award contracts for fake CCTVs or simply make it not work. This thread is making me remember quite a lot. Recently, NSPMC guys were crying for them to be properly paid after serving the country but you ask yourself, why can Nigeria not produce ballot papers? The answer is obvious. |
frankwyte:Participating in elections now is an issue. Kwara did better than Lagos. Lagos has the population but when it comes to election day, it fizzles out. Even for recent governorship elections, check out the numbers. There's a lot of noise made but you don't see them on election day. |
wildimagination:Femi Falana said something recently. There's a deliberate attempt to rewrite history by some people due to partisan politics. Things like it's a Yoruba thing, it's for 2019, he was not a saint etc. History may have been tampered with in our schools and these malicious people may twist stories today to confuse the Y2K generation but there's YouTube. Let them go watch the Oputa Panel, watch interviews of his family, watch interviews of MKO himself. MKO sacrificed his wealth and family just to SERVE NIGERIA and one Senator tells us that because he is dead, he's no longer a Nigerian May he not incur the wrath of our armed forces who put their lives on the line to defend the country. That's an example of the dangerous and silly game some are trying to play with the event. Such dangerous statements that can send the wrong signals to paramilitary guys that is Nigeria worth dying for since their citizenship can be doubted after death? The 2019 elections is another one. OBJ (and PDP) had the opportunity and he was from the same state with MKO but his inactions silenced this - so those who try to divide us along partisan lines can see that even your brother may not be your bro. Like they say, truth has no hiding place no matter how long we hide it. The politicians know that this single action is a big one but they failed to do same when they were in power. Politicians will always play with issues but whatever the intent was, PMB did the right thing I am happy to see the conduct of the Abiola family in recent interviews. You still see them talking about national unity despite losing two members of their family for Nigeria's sake. Times like this is when I wish TELL could upload their archives! |

Cindino20:Nice pictures you have there. They could pass for stock images. What did you use to snap them? Don't blame Nigerians. They have been spoilt not to appreciate literature so the only kind of fun is partying, movies etc. The mention of museums to the average Nigerian is like a boring history class. If there is a successful attempt to change this, Nigerians will first visit Nigeria before anywhere else. Anyone that travels round Nigeria and has a little knowledge of history will appreciate Nigeria better. That way, they'll know more about the country and attract foreigners. It is the absence of these stories that makes it easy for politicians to divide us because we don't know ourselves, our places or heritage. The foreigners will tell the story to suit their narrative. Little do we know that some history that emerged from Nigeria has been cut off because we don't care. Abiola was recently given the GCFR award, Epetedo should be attracting visitors by now. |
IamAkinzy:I no blame am. Boda Saheed don reach place wey e fit use him phone to the full potential. Nothing like network poor or no light to call |
Lukgaf:Hey. What is absurd is for you to come to this conclusion based on this quote. Your post was vague. Anyway MicroSweet seems to have decoded your message successfully. It's alright. |
Lukgaf:We cannot say for sure if you're being spammed or not because this message is vague. Not so much details. |

The Professor has learned so well from his Governor in SERVING the people. Truth is, like him or hate him, Fayose plays this well. I will be surprised if his anointed one doesn't start sooner or later. It is a personality thing; it's not everyone that is personable so sooner or later, the bottle will crack. Our leaders are like celebrities because they do not give access to the electorate and behave like gods. Fayose has capitalised on this misnomer and whatever the issue is, the people find it easier to connect with him. For the average Ekiti person, I expect these politicians to pound yam or dem no get power reach? |
Ezyp:Nairaland does not encourage publishing of phone numbers. It's just a phase. When Nairaland started, Hi5 would have been included but YIM was indeed the foundation for all the IM services we have today. From the pinging to the emoticon and all that. I used to look forward to logging in and seeing messages that had been dropped by contacts. |
This guy was shown the way out when Korea hosted the Winter Olympics. He may make good money from being a KJU that can be touched or people can access but he should watch it. North Korea is not into nuclear weapons for nothing. If he becomes more famous than necessary... I WILL STOP HERE. |
There was terror Anytime I want to laugh, I just read these bloggers and lol @ their fancy for exaggerated reporting.I can't see any cat burnt. Dem no fit try am make the owner of the car try them. On a serious note, this is man's inhumanity to animals especially domestic ones. "The scene then attracted passers by and residents to come to the rescue and they successfully killed it." This part alone shows how ignorant the people are. There was no success in killing it, there was only success in people thinking they had killed a perceived enemy. I wish there was someone helpful that could rescue the cat. Shame to human beings. At least in all the stories they have been told, the witch should have died as a human being not a cat. |
That one seff dey o.
