The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, had planned to use the uncollected Permanent Voters’ Cards, PVCs, to allocate votes to President Muhammadu Buhari. In a statement yesterday night by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, the main opposition party appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for extension of time by three days for collection of the PVCs. The party said the demand of three days extension was predicated on reports across the country that some compromised INEC officials at the collection centres were deliberately refusing to issue the PVCs to voters, thereby frustrating millions of registered voters. According to him, “The PDP believes that this deliberate refusal to release the PVCs is part of the wider plot by the APC to disenfranchise millions of Nigerians and frustrate their eagerness to vote out President Buhari at the February 16 presidential election and elect the peoples candidate, Atiku Abubakar.” The party demanded explanation from INEC for turning back registered voters who went to collect their PVCs and directed them to come at a later date for an exercise that is programmed to end on Friday. It also called on the leadership of INEC not to plunge the election into a needless controversy but to redeem itself by extending the closing date for the collection of PVCs by three days. https://all-gists..com/2019/02/PDP-reveals-what-APC-plans-to-do-with-uncollected-PVCs.html

On Wednesday night, Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki mocked the All Progressives Congress (APC) over their “incessant replacement” of police commissioner in Kwara state. He spoke in reaction to deployment of Kayode Egbetokun, former Chief Security Officer to APC national leader, Bola Tinubu. Saraki while addressing his supporters during the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) rally at Balogun Fulani ward in Ilorin south local government area of the state said “they (the opposition) are scared to come and meet our people that is why they are busy changing police commissioner every day but that won’t change our peoples resolve to continue to support us. “The support we received shows that we are on ground with the people and they are still fully supporting us. “Let other party come and meet our people and see if people will receive them the way they received us. “We are always with the people unlike them who are usually home during elections to deceive our people. “If the APC is popular as they claim let them come home and show their strength just like we did. They cannot intimidate our people with police.” Recall The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment and deployment of 37 Command Commissioners of Police for the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory ( FCT), Abuja Yesterday. Mr Kayode Egbetokun who was also recently appointed as a Commissioner in Lagos, has been redeployed to Kwara State. https://all-gists..com/2019/02/Saraki-reacts-as-Tinubu-Ex-CSO-Kayode-deployed-to-Kara-as-Police-Commissioner.html |

Kanu had on several fora urged the people of the South East to boycott the forthcoming elections in a bid to push for the actualisation of Biafra. However, the IPOB leader declared that those who wish to renew their “slave status in Nigeria” are free to participate in the coming elections. In a tweet, Kanu, however, reiterated his earlier call for sit-at-home order during the presidential election on February 16. He wrote: “We in #IPOB recognise that freedom fighting is about philosophical purity and ideological consistency not pandering to political short-termism. “Those that wish to renew their slave status in #Nigeria are free to vote. “On February 16, 2019, #SitAtHome in Biafraland.” https://all-gists..com/2019/02/Vote-And-Remain-In-Slavery-Nnamdi-Kanu-Tells-Igbos.html
