House34:I will not totally agree with you cos am a living testimony out of the pool of applicants below is my timeline: Canadian employer shortlisted my resume on indeed and I was scheduled for interview a week later, my interview lasted for almost 50 minutes via voice call around August 2019. I was scheduled for 2nd interview but I got my offer letter exactly 3 weeks. The job is under IMP. Then my employer submitted my application to MPNP to consider me for nomination, I got nominated around May 2020, so I have my nomination certificate and letter of support to apply for work permit. To cut the long story short I submitted my work permit and permanent resident application September and December 2020 currently. My first work permit was refused exactly one year September 2021 my employer reapply around November 2021 which is still ongoing. I received PR AOR on Jan 12 2022, between 17th Jan 2022 I received ADR, REMED,RPRF payment, PAL, exactly 28th of Feb I received my PPR with my 4 dependants.( Just 6 weeks from my AOR) Canada employer are still hiring Nigerians ooo, in fact am in a WhatsApp group of Nigerians that have job offer all over Canada provinces and have already submitted their work application but the timeline for work permit approval from Nigeria is very slow and some are in Canada already with their families. |

Ennymama:SCAM! SCAM!! SCAM!!! |
adeakin:Pls oo my own case is offer letter with Nomination in Manitoba with family of 5 and my work was still refused while my PR application is ongoing awaiting AOR for over a year now. The reason VO given was his not sure if I can perform the job I seek in Canada that if am sure sure I meet the requirements I can reapply. Now I only reapply while I use my family as home ties when I land in Canada by Gods grace I will then file for their application if our PR application have not receive DM. |
Hi everyone, My SOWP application and SP applications for my 3 children were refused sometime in September 2021. I applied for GCMS notes on October 1st and received the notes today (December 11th). It took about 71 days for the notes to arrive. The VO's main reasons for refusal have been quoted below: “Adult male and 3 children intending to join spouse/parent in Cda, currently in status studying a Masters. I note that spouse’s application was submitted. On that application, husband and 3 children were listed as non-accompanying. No guarantee that either will find work to support themselves and 3 children. Given that all deps were listed as non-accompanying and that SP adult recently arrived in Cda, I question the truthfulness of that original statement. Entire family travelling together reduces socio-economic ties to Nigeria. On balance, reviewing all documents before me including information available in the original SP application for adult female, I am not satisfied that PA would respect T&C of entry and leave Cda by the end of an authorized stay.” Please, GURUS in the house should suggest how I can tackle the refusal reasons. Please, if you have found yourself in a similar situation, how did ****************************************************************************+** You can reapply prayerfully with strong LOE why you and the children need to support your spouse in Canada (Emotionally, Physically etc) also you need to show POF and also with landed property, Registered Company Certificate If both of you have aged parents show pictures evidence to prove to VO that you still have aged parents you are caring for that too can serve as family ties. |
Hi fam, I just reapply my close work permit that was refused exactly one year in August 2021, my work permit is under International Mobility Program (Lmia exempt)with Nomination. This time around I applied for only work permit while I used my family as home ties our PR application is ongoing awaiting AOR. I just want to confirm if this new application can get faster process since is only me as a principal applicant,I read somewhere that if application is refused IRCC do changes the visa office for proper reassessment I don’t know how true is this information? thanks |
Akannitommy:I know a person who got it exactly 8 days at VFS Abuja |
EnnyOneda:Wow!! 17 months honestly this canny journey will teach you to be patient by force by fire. Congrats oo |
subzheero:Someone got approval today Timeline 3 weeks Noc A Family of 4 Employer restricted with Nomination from New BRUSKWIK |
subzheero:Likewise my pre assessment notes no comment at all. REASON FOR REFUSAL = 0 MISREPRESENTATION = 0 I believe all is fine with our application oo My only concern is re-medical but if they can consider us for medical extension it would be good oo cos medical for family of 5 is not cheap. Though if I re-medical I will still use it to update my ongoing PR application. Our time is here no more waiting!! |
We might find this useful to clear our doubts on Recommend Interview and Review Required Far too many times, prospective applicants applicants ask me questions relating to this topic. In this post, I will carefully address the real issues and meaning behind "Recommend Interview". I hope every participant on this platform makes the most of the information below. Kindly be advised that every immigration applications submitted to IRCC are reviewed by at least two levels of people: 1. Program Case Analyst: Most of the time, it's the Program Case Analyst who does the initial R-10 check that often positions certain applications on "Recommend Interview". They review all information present on file and can only make recommendations as per the applicant's circumstance - i.e, recommended interview (RI), review required (RR), recommended refusal/eligibility failed (EF). The Program Case Analyst may also be able to refuse some ill-equipped applications due to poor documentation. Reason for Recommend Interview; The eligibility status - "Recommend Interview" is mostly common when the Program Case Analyst has certain concerns about the submission of the applicant for an immigration application to Canada. This is largely due to some irregularities on the applicant's employment reference letter and inability to verify applicant's work experience, ineligible financial documents to cover for the applicant's proposed program and upkeep in Canada, and in some cases due to salaries being paid by cash at applicant's place of work. 2. Senior Immigration Officer The Senior immigration officer (visa officer) will then review the notes and assessments of the program case analyst and make the final decision, this also includes whether or not an interview is required. If an interview is necessary to continue processing your application, the status would change to "interview required". However, since the inception of the COVID-19 pandemic, IRCC have not been conducting interviews for prospective applicants both for work permit, spousal sponsorship, parents sponsorship and some other PR applications. In view of the foregoing, an immigration officer may disregard a recommended interview and subsequently grant an approval. My observations; I have reviewed several GCMS notes as of recent and in the past and I have come to understand that majority of applicant's with "Recommend Interview" as the current eligibility assessment on their GCMS notes are later in the visa process approved by the Senior Immigration Officer. Although, in a few cases, some applications may be rejected due to the limited knowledge on the applicant's part to address the initial concerns. This also stems from the fact that the format is not clearly spelled out by the immigration authorities. This is not much of a bother you know, i would recommend you check properly for the pre-assessment notes/comments which can be found on the page 2 or the last two pages of the Gcms notes. I hope this information satisfies your enquiry and future questions relating to the subject matter. It will end in praise. |
subzheero:Exactly what is on my note. I don’t know why most employer specific eligibility is recommend interview. Is it another delay tactics ? But my eligibility is recommend interview not review required also my info sharing is complete. That’s means they might request for ADR or more clarification on your work experience cos of Review Required I submitted my application on 5th of September |
Thanks boss , do you suggest I should hold with my reference letter by raising a webform or I should still send it ? Though they haven’t requested for ADR |
Anndav:Thanks boss |
I received my GCMS note for Work Permit last week Friday below are my details: My Timeline: 5th September 2020 Valid Job Offer with Nomination Eligibility: Recommend Interview Security: HIRV: Criminality: Bio Passed Org Crime: Medicals: Passed Misrep: Order req: Info Sharing: Complete Final : Counterfoil Req: Y I remember that I didn’t submit work reference letter cos I submitted my application during lockdown. I only submitted my salary account statement of account, payment stubs and my trade certificate of competency. Now my reference letter from my employer is with now which I want to raise a webform to submit. I guessed that is why my eligibility was recommended for interview or should I wait until IRCC requested for ADR |
Anndav:My first employer also pull out during COVID-19 lockdown, I also received letter of offer from another employer so MPNP just updated my letter of support and my nomination certificate before I submitted my Work Permit and PR application. With the ease of restrictions coming up before ending of the month we should hear from soon by Gods grace. With the look of things now one must be fully vaccinated to be exempted from that $2,000 hotel quarantine oo. I never collect even the first done , $2,000 no joke in Naira oo |
two4:Wow!! This is over a year oo |
Anndav:Mine is employer specific WP with dependent visa with Provincial Nomination . Our Medicals will expire by early August |
Ugochiii:From my end noo, my application will be 40 weeks by Saturday. It would definitely end the praise |
Akannitommy:Letter of acceptance is not required under dependent study permit. |
subzheero:Still waiting no update yet oo, I sent another webform last week they replied with generic email your application is under “Active Review “ my application will be 37 weeks this weekend. I guessed IRCC pause all applications till restrictions is removed. I have ordered for GCMS note to know the real state of my application. |

Am still waiting oo, but am very sure it won’t be long by Gods grace. This week makes 36 weeks . Though I’ve raised GCMS last week through CAIPS also raised another webform today. |
subzheero:My work permit application is on 35 weeks now, God let it end in praise oo |
Anndav:Amen |
Anndav:Am still expecting ooo, today makes 33 weeks, Nigeria work permit timeline have been reduced to 39 weeks. The webform I raise to Nairobi shows the application is still under “Active Review “ Let’s keep hope alive all will end in praise. |

Congrats oo |
etjigger: |
Anndav:Honestly, is only IRCC can answer this questions. My files was transferred from Canadian VAC Abuja to Nairobi Kenya VAC maybe to fast track the work permit processing am on 29 weeks against 18 weeks timeline. Last webform response was processing is under “Active Review “. MPNP with valid job offer. |
FYsol:yes boss, pls send me your email address |
There are some work permits that are being supported by provinces. They do refer to them as LMIA Exempt. Their applications and that of their spouses are usually processed within 2 weeks if there is no need for additional documents. That's the reason for the short period for approval. ======================================================================== Am actually supported by MPNP with valid job offer (LMIA exempt). Both my Work Permit and PR application is ongoing (Family of 5) I’ve exceeded my work permit timeline 18 weeks timeline to 28 weeks now. Medical and biometric passed Eligibility and background checks: Processing since 24 November 2020 Last webform response Feb 2021 “Application is under Active Review” I also want to know her path cos is super fast. |
