How can one apply for a job for 12 years running and had no idea of the challenges and solutions to even the basics of governance? Buhari should start by refunding all salaries, allowances, rights and privileges he has so far enjoyed cos all those monies went down the drain for 10 months of no idea.

He thinks governance is all about champagne, good food and sex from Aisha all through to 2019huh

BusinessRe: Dangote Slashes Cement Price Again! by Muyoatlanta(m): 1:48pm On Feb 09, 2016
maximunimpact:
Giant cement manufacturer, Dangote cement has slashed the price of its cement varieties as a result of its economy of scale occasioned by the recent introduction of new production lines in Okpella Edo State and Itori in Ogun State worth nine million metric tonnes,

The company, in a statement, stated that the price cut from N1800 to N1300 was to ensure the product is affordable to all segment of users.

In the same light the company has gone a step further to train block moulders on the right mix to get quality blocks.

Speaking in Umahia, the Abia State capital during a national meeting of the National Association of Block Moulders of Nigeria (NABMON), Regional Sales Director, Dangote Cement, Johnson Olaniyi, stated that Dangote Cement considered incessant building collapse as an indictment on all sector operators hence his company’s resolve to continue the collaboration with all so as to tackle the menace.

While assuring that Dangote Cement would continue to ensure that block moulders have access to its quality cement as part of its contribution to the war against building collapse, the Sales Director further stated that the company reduced the price of its cement from N1800- N1300 to enable Nigerians have unhindered access to the product.

BusinessRe: CBN Forex Policy Irreversible — Saraki by Muyoatlanta(m): 10:44pm On Feb 07, 2016
[I must say there is a lot of sense in what mr Saraki said inspite of his political travails.quote author=Kingsolex1 post=42691479]The Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, on Saturday, ruled out the possibility of reversing the policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria, which excludes some imported goods and services from the list of items that can benefit from the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market.

Saraki, according to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Sanni Onogu, stated this while hosting the Tomato Sub-Sectoral Group of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, whose members visited him.

The tomato paste producers had sought Saraki’s intervention to lift the exemption by the CBN on certain imported goods.

But Saraki said based on the present economic realities, difficult decisions should be taken to overcome the challenges.

The Senate President said, “It is high time we started telling ourselves the home truth as a nation. We are where we are because of our refusal to take hard decisions.

“As a country, we have to chart a new way different from the past, and that path is going into manufacturing as we cannot continue to remain an import dependent country.”

He challenged the tomato paste producers to focus more on how to be full-fledged manufacturers of the product using local raw materials.

Saraki also expressed surprise that in spite of the high level of local cultivation of tomatoes, the producers were still importing the Triple Concentrate used in the production of the product, which, he said, could be produced locally by raising the production level of tomatoes in the country.

Not a few people are wondering when the late former Bayelsa State governor, DSP Alamieyeseigha, will be buried. It is the one million dollar question on the lips of many Nigerians, particularly on the social scene.

The reason for the delay in his burial has also been a topic for debates. Alamieyeseigha died in the last quarter of 2015 at the age of 63. He died at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital after going into coma for days.may his soul rest in perfect peace.....

According to close family sources, he was diabetic and was being treated in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, before he was returned to Port Harcourt where he gave up the ghost.

CareerRe: Any Hope For A Database Administrator In Nigeria by Muyoatlanta(m): 8:56pm On Dec 11, 2015
I must say DBA is an emerging field in Naija. In the US it's very lucrative and the average income for an administrator is btw. $68 000 a year to $120 000.the employers want you to have certification but it's added advantage if you have a degree or an associate decree. You don't have to be a guru in computers to be certified, just logic or common sense, and the willingness to be on call anytime or sit behind the system for sometime long periods. You could study in your own Microsoft database administrators books on line or purchase from book stores or cisco (which is more expensive).by and large. The job is simply a very sensitive one and you need to be very careful as data is very valuableasy to many organisations. .Finally as we migrate to digital world more organizationso will embrace the need to jettison file base system and embrace database which is more secure and devoid of redundancy.

PoliticsRe: FG To Begin Campaign Against Indiscipline, African-time Syndrome — Lai Mohammed by Muyoatlanta(m): 6:23pm On Nov 24, 2015
DONSMITH123:
The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, says a nation-wide campaign against indiscipline, African-time syndrome and loss of social norms and values will begin before the end of the year.

Mohammed stated this on Tuesday at a strategic planning meeting he held with the chief executives of agencies and other top management staff of the ministry in Abuja.

“You are welcome to this meeting, which I have convened to present to you the template for the massive, nationwide reorientation campaign to be embarked upon by this ministry very soon.

“Those invited to this meeting have been painstakingly selected because I believe they have the necessary expertise to help drive the campaign.

“However, let me state unequivocally, that everyone in the Ministry of Information and Culture as well as its parastatals, is key to the campaign.

“This is because as the lead ministry, we must first buy into the campaign and own it before we can propagate it.’’

The minister said that the National Orientation Agency (NOA) would spearhead the campaign to ensure positive change of attitude, values and behaviours of Nigerians.

“As I have said on several occasions, the National Orientation Agency will be in the forefront of the campaign, because it is in line with its mandate to positively change attitudes, values and behaviours.

“Make no mistake about it, we need to change the way we do things in Nigeria.

“It is important to let our people know that they cannot continue to do things the same way and expect a different result.

“The impending campaign must take on indiscipline, the lack of respect for time, loss of our time-tested values and generally lead to attitudinal change in such a way that there will be a paradigm shift in the way we do things.

“This is also in line with my vision as Minister of Information and Culture.’’

According to him, the ministry has put enormous work into the presentations that it is about to showcase.

He stated that the presentations should be considered the template for the campaign.

“But feel free to critique them and make suggestions so that the campaign can be ready on time for its launch this year unfailingly,’’ the minister added.

PoliticsRe: Senators, Aides Shun Saraki’s Online Training by Muyoatlanta(m): 2:21pm On Nov 17, 2015
Serendip:
None of the 109 Senators attended an online training organised on Monday by the office of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

The workshop was organised for the senators and their aides and it was aimed at strengthening their use of Facebook and Social media for effective communication on issues relating to Public Policy and Good Governance.

Our correspondent also observed that, less than 10 percent of the aides of the senators attended the event.

Majority of those in attendance were from the senate president’s office.

Findings revealed that just 25 out of about 500 senators’ aides, actually turned up for the programme.

The Chief of Staff to the Senate President, Senator Isa Galaudu, had in a statement issued on Thursday, said the training was in line with the promise of the senate president to bring about, a more representative legislature through the use of technology and e-parliamentary tools.

He had said that the training, would be conducted by the Head of Policy at Facebook Africa and members of her team, billed to arrive in the country on Sunday.
