obailala: Is the north more powerful or even more populated than the rest of Nigeria?... And remember we talk mainly of the NW and NE here?
Remember what happened in the 2011 elections?... The entire north voted Buhari but he lost woefully and you know why?... That was because the SE + SS + SW + NC voted for GEJ.
The reason true federalism may never be possible is not because of the north, rather it is because of the foolishness of the south (specifically the SW and SE) to forcefully ask for it in unison.
Instead of strategising and pushing for this, the SE seems to always jump into the option of running away from Nigeria and the plan seems to be to drag the SS along. There is no doubt that any secession of the SE today without at least some parts of the SS would be foolhardy. But with the present retrogressive economic arrangement of Nigeria, no other zone (including the SS) would permit that to happen. The only feasible thing is to build proper bridges with the SS (not the present kind of "we voted your son" bridge) and also an alliance with the SW and the middlebelt to fight in one voice for true federalism. That is the only feasible option. U re leaving in a dream world, i live in Rivers state, If Nigeria breaks today rivers wud be broken into plenty factions,: 1) the people that want to stay on there own neither Niger Delta or Biafra. 2) the people going with Biafra 3) people going with Niger Delta republic. The reasons most people in the ss especially those that hv indigenous igbos in it dont want any talks abt secession is because the present structure favours them, they know that there's no way Nigeria wud break without a section of the ss especially the igbo parts going to the SE. |

I don't even want to remind you who owns and controls the oil blocs as we speak. If the isoko or urhobo or benin like let them join Cameroun, we never said isoko is our brother, u guys re on ur own at OP, if Nigeria breaks we know where igbo land starts and where it ends if u like form another state out of the parts of imo and abia that has oil and add it to ss we all know where we re going if Nigeria breaks, Niger Delta republic with no inch or acre of igbo land and igbo land with no sign of any single minority simple. |

garfield16: The real problem with Nigeria is the Ibo man, he is never at peace with his neighbours at home or in exile. other tribes have learnt how to co exist, annoying as other tribes may be at times, knowing full well that every tribe annoys the other one way or another. But the Ibo man wants to be the master at home and in other people's backyard. You appoint an ibo man as head of govt agency and before you know what is happening, the whole place is manned by Ibos, from typist to cleaner to accountant, na only una? He does this so that even after he leaves office the parastatal becomes an Ibo parastatal. They always want to dominate their environment. Because of this mentality they can't be trusted with the political affairs of the nation.
when an Ibo says injustice, all it means is he can't dominate. D ibo man wants to stay in his own so dat he wont dominate u people is it by force? So what Buhari is doing right now by appointing only northerners so he is igbo. Leave us let us go and dominate ourselves we dont want to dominate u. |

There are over 200 ethnic nationalities in the country but because up in his stupid head the union doesn't seem to favour just one, it should be called off. Even ethnic minorities are showing a lot more maturity than some supposed elders.
Was the country just amalgamated yesterday?? Where was his voice during Jonathan's regime?? Did the herdsmen crisis begin yesterday?? Where was he between 2011 and 2015??
One day you want out of the union, the next day you wanna be the president, acting as though there's a Nobel prize for stupidity for which you are strong contender. And who says break up is a "sure banker" for peace??
Some people are just irritatingly foolish. Look at dz one, all things being equal of they tell us Igbo's today today dat we shud leave Nigeria or we shud choose presidency, i swear we wud leave dz country as fast as possible before some ediots change der mind. Southerners think because they can speak English they are educated forgetting the fact that English is like a native language to them going by that analogy we have a lot of educated people in Arabic. Cheating is rife In your part with fake certificates rampant but you don't see that cos your eyes are blind. U guys re more educated, yet ur ppl are awarded 2 over 200 for admission compared to southern States which need to score 140.... Yeah north is truly educated. |
