Some years ago gari shot up from being the default common man food saviour to a status of almost competing with beans and plantain just because of this same reason of the government wanting to run before they can walk.

The whole essence is to increase the capacity of the farmers, from farm size to improved species to mechanisation to better farming processes and inputs, all these will guarantee increased yield per farm and harvest per farmer
