It is not enough for the Federal Government to create awareness in order to reduce damages and loss of lives and properties as NIMET advised, the FG should put in place a practicable emergency response plan since the infrastructure on ground ain't enough to prevent flooding. The Nigerian government has not done enough as far as the security and protection of the citizenry is concerned. The earlier the Federal, state and Local governments heed this warning and take appropriate combative measures against the impending danger of flooding, the better for everyone. Those in coastal and flood-proned environs should also be alert and have a well prepared ERP of their own and should not totally depend on the govt!

Feel nothing but pity for the motherland and her offsprings! Her supposed defenders are logically in league with her devourers! Which ever way you look at it, remitting funds to NLC or the govt, one thing is certain, large amount of money would be misappropriated!

, On what basis is the comparism? In my humble opinion, relative to the respective professions in advanced countries like Canada, Japan, US etc, no profession in Nigeria stands out! Also, relative to the respective professions from other developing african nations such as Cameroon, Angola, Zambia, ivory coast etc, Nigerian professionals are better. Now, if we confine the comparism to Nigeria only, a profession standing out or not can not be objectively determined since all the professions in Nigeria have their respective strengths as well as flaws or  short comings! Sentiments and cerebral nepotism aside.
An accountant by profession would choose to blow the trumpet in support of accountancy being oblivious of the fact that our accountants depend largely on western ideas and the profession is equally laden with corruption and ineptitude! Similar criticism applies to other professions in Nigeria.

I am not usually comfortable with compliments because I have come to understand that over 90% of the compliments we receive are either insincere or with ulterior motives.

It is left to each individual to choose and decide how he/she wants his/her life look like. @OP, I would want to partially disagree with your narration. You sounded so faultless, blameless and innocent in the narration. I am almost certainly sure that if you are sincere with the kind gestures and winsome attitude you displayed in that narration, your brother in-law wouldn't have been so supposedly arrogant and inconsiderate! It all boils down to communication and the type of foundation you laid when you first met him and afterwards. Perhaps, when he arrived (even though I don't support that he stays with you in the first place) you made him feel unwelcome, I'm saying this cos I unavoidably found myself in that situation. The wife, from the outset, made me realise I'm not welcome and complains about almost everything I do to the point I decided to do house chores only when no one is around. I could stay all day long in my room if she is around in order to avoid confrontations and hostility-she complains about this as well.  I sincerely do not feel comfortable when the husband offered to allow me stay with them till I get a job and settle down. I tried communicating with her and buying gifts and stuffs like that to no avail. I sometimes feel I COULD HAVE DONE WORSE if I'm in her shoe because, naturally, I don't support the idea. But, in my case, it was just unavoidable and temporal. I would want to believe that you both have the blame to share and only the two of you could sort things out between you till he finally leaves. The issue here isn't the refusal to come to Nigeria but the very reason(s) underpinning such refusal. As a nation, we should strategically and systematically address those issues. We should be careful with our usage of words, especially, when it comes to issues concerning God. This is because we shall all give account of every idle word we speak and blasphemy against God is a sin.

How will I drag the Creator to the level of His creatures? Impossible, He is Sovereign, The Most High, The Almighty and The Mighty God.

However, The Bible told me He created me in His image. So, it is not out of place if I have a body, soul and spirit.
As for your first question, I have the following answer for you, even though I know you will still not accept it because you have a point you are dogmatically defending. How I wish you will fulfill your PROMISE and be CONVERTED. I will only provide you with references from the old testament because I perceive you have a strong aversion for the new testament which is actually replete with several other references.

1. Gen 1: 27: So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him…
2. Gen 5: 1b: ….in the likeness of God made He him.

4. Ecclesiastes 12:7: Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

The misunderstanding here is that somebody is confused. Jesus is another word for Messiah or Christ or Savior and none is a Title nor a description. Son of man, Son of God and so on are descriptions but not Messiah nor Christ.

As for the other example, I believe the Creator bears God, I AM THAT I AM, YAHWEH & so on and these are not titles because God is not a man that you should ascribe Title to (You can check your dictionary for the meaning of the word Title) and a title is a prefix or suffix to someone’s name just like you cited prophet Moses (the prophet there is a Title). So, Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost and Comforter are not Titles nor description and that is the name given to the Spirit of God. Spirit of Truth& Spirit of God are the descriptions.
