@hunee, @afrikel

I have been called to bring my passport on Monday. I don't know the decision yet!!

I hope you get it. You are lucky.

I applied since Feb 1st, submitted my passport alongside and I am yet to hear from them. Almost 3 months and not even a text to say nada. I had to get the Ecowas travel certificate when I wanted to travel during the Easter break. I have decided to leave the passport with them as I don't need it anymore, it expires soon anyway. They can eat it.
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Mzyetty: 2:56pm On Mar 11
DONE. Waiting on them

Africankel:

Withdraw it. I personally don't like to leave my passport with any Embassy beyond three weeks.
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Mzyetty: 11:15am On Mar 11
hunee:
Withdraw your passport na. If it is urgent, in the first instance, sa does not collect passports. I dont understand how that happened and they received yours. anyway, Goodluckk.

You are been diplomatic my brother, It is what I will do too grin. So no wam.

The lady actually asked if we wanted to leave it or go with it. I felt it was just visitors visa, it shouldn't take time but alas.

@Hunee @Africankel

Please will you advice that I withdraw my passport? I need it for my travels Easter period. I am not sure it will be released before then. I applied since February 1st. Travel date has passed sef. Chances of rejecting me is very high.

That's the mistake I made. I should have kept my passport to myself instead of giving it to them. Today is supposed to be my travel day, My boss had to leave without me. To say I am livid is to put it mildly. I'm not one to give up easily but I give up on SA. They should just give me my Passport abeg, I need it as it expires soon. I applied for the e visa August 2022, Only for them to deny me 4 months after, citing that my yellow card was not clear, I immediately applied for Kenya e-visa and got it within 2 days. Now this, since Feb 1.

No visa application ever stressed me the way SA did. Or its the way we were treated despite the fact that we paid for premium services.

Please @hunee, I just checked my visa application through the Online tracker and it says "no record found". It moved from under assessment to that. Does it mean anything? Travel date is tomorrow.

1year visa? what category is that

We both applied for Visitors Visa. I am guessing because her travel history is extensive and she has plenty active visas on her passport( US 5years, Canada 10 years, UK 10 years.
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Mzyetty: 1:08pm On Mar 05
Guys please help me. What can I do?

I submitted my application to VFS on the 1st of February and I am yet to get my passport or visa. Travel date is on the 8th of March. I'm supposed to be in Cape Town for an event on the 11th and then return on the 15th.

I applied with my boss and she got hers within 10days, 1 year visa and mine is still pending.

Please is there a number or email address I can call or send message to?

please help guys.
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Mzyetty: 4:02pm On Feb 16
My Boss, I and another colleague submitted our documents on the 1st of February as a Group. DHL sent her a message yesterday and her passport was received today with one year visa. I and my other colleague are yet to hear from them after the first message they sent that it was delivered to the Consulate.

We applied as a group, just wondering why they chose to send only hers?
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Mzyetty: 9:03am On Aug 21, 2022
Please I need quick response to this post.

What’s the latest news on the e visa?? Are they giving out the visas at all?

Has anyone received their visa lately?

Heard the processing time is so long.

It's actually very funny and sad when I see all the documents that people upload and still don't get the visa.

I applied for the first time recently and all the documents I uploaded was less than 10. I think 7 or so and I was granted the visa. My colleague that applied same day as me was refused after almost 36 working days. We reapplied again, this time around priority and with loads of documents to back it up and she was still refused again after 2 days. They apparently used another person's application to judge her own, because most of the paragraphs in the refusal mail wasn't submitted.

To say she is devastated is to put it mildly. Which brings me to my question. What exactly do they look out for in an application?

I keep thinking about my visa, what exactly did I do right??

Thank you. If you know me you will know I am a researcher. . It's just so complex you have no idea. I was in Abuja when the ticket was sent to me yesterday. No to worry though, I will do due diligence.

I honestly don't know as I have not used them before. But next time, make your research about an airline before buying your tickets

Every valid information you need is on gov.uk. there's even a list of companies where you can do the lateral flow test and all.

covid test (lateral flow), is it now? I know the passenger locator form is 48 hours before flight. Any other travel related info would be welcome.

Thanks guys[/quote]

The slip you were given on the day of your biometrics. You can also go with a valid ID but basically only the slip will do.
