Conner44:It's a used car, under 30k miles. I'm more concerned about the brake discs, shock absorbers, linkages, rims, tires, etc. Thanks for your advice though, really appreciated ![]() |
nurey:Besides how they drive, it's going to need to be serviced before it's put on the road. I don't even trust the drivers to use the recommended oil. I don't know the state of the break pads, etc. So I'll go with your advice to lift it. Feedback appreciated, Nurey ![]() |
ifex370:Thanks Brother. After the advice in this thread, I've decided against rolling the dice. I've spent close to 15M, I don't want 200K in savings to be the reason why I cry to sleep. |
decatalyst:No, I will never drive it to Lagos. I've only driven to Benue and most recently, Jos. And after my experience on the Jos road, I vowed not to drive there ever again. The roads within Abuja are very good, at least where I live. I haven't seen a pothole in months. |
Mrsoft3:Thanks for your feedback. The 10th generation accord starts from 2018 up to 2022. It's a foreign used car. |
Kingdemu:Yes, it's a 2020 Accord. I appreciate your feedback. Someone else had recommended AA Rescue and I've already reached out to them. They charged 322K to deliver it to Abuja within 72 hours. Coupled with your advice, I've resolved to go with them. Thank you! |
Good day everyone. I've recently purchased a 10th generation Honda Accord and it's currently in Lagos. I've been advised by my Mechanic and a few friends to not drive the car down due to the bad roads, they have advised me to pay a company 300K to have it transported over a carrier to Abuja. However, the importer has advised against it and assured me there'd be no problems if I pay 70k for it to be driven down. I'm really undecided, especially considering that the new Accords are relatively low and Hondas are not as strong. I'm hoping other people can share their experiences. I do not want to spend an extra 230K if I don't need to. However, I will gladly pay if it will avoid additional expenses. The importer has told me the drivers are very experienced with the roads and are careful drivers. Please advise and share your experiences. |
Greetings! Kindly assist with the cost for clearing a 2020 Honda Accord via Griamaldi Lines. |
@cappload Can you share steps as I’m currently stuck as well? How were you able to resolve this? |

Sorry about your ordeal Kennycool1. I was also expecting an iPhone 7 Plus. It was shipped by USPS (Tracking: CH017211264US) and EMS coordinated final delivery here. I received it intact on Wednesday and paid 36K as customs duty. I have a little more confidence in NIPOST/EMS now but will be using DHL or FedEx subsequently for high value items. |
NIPOST and CUSTOMS need to improve their services. Parcels spend weeks at Customs, NIPOST's tracking service is barely functional. When the parcel is globetrotting, you get timely updates. As soon as it reaches Nigeria, the story changes and you almost get hypertension wondering what may have happened. Sammybabs, Popson2001111, Hamzat10, Philloo3 - Did you eventually receive your items? Phapi - Quick question, when items are shipped using USPS, is it NIPOST or their EMS division that coordinates final delivery here in Nigeria? And why did you pay as much as 80K to get your parcel(s)? |

ohiz2007:Thanks! Perhaps, but I doubt. I believe the servers were flooded with requests. |
jayloms:I used Java 8 and Internet Explorer on Windows 10. |
Greg007:Actually, it was between 10 AM and 11 AM WAT. The site was a bit slow, but eventually went through. I use a Mac with OS X, so I had to install Windows because the Digital Persona scanner used for registration only has Windows compatible drivers. |
oluwafirefunmi:Yes, because I'm currently out of the country. I had to purchase the fingerprint scanner from Amazon, set up Windows, Java, etc and complete the registration. Quite tasking, but in the end, worth it. I've also paid online and have a call-up number. |
moh85:Strange... I completed the registration stress free.

Nigeria’s Ex-minister For Oil Appears With Mother In UK Magistrate Court - Sahara Reporters .Mrs. Alison-Madueke was arrested last week by the UK National Crime Agency over allegations that she engaged in bribery and money laundering. Earlier today, SaharaReporters published a detailed report about how the former minister looted and laundered funds in the United Kingdom using a network of relatives, co-workers and shady businessmen. Mrs. Madueke’s case came to the attention of law enforcement agents in the UK when she used her mother to purchase a posh apartment in Westminster. Although it is confirmed that Mrs. Alison-Madueke will be charged alongside her mother and possibly an aide, SaharaReporters has been unable to confirm the identity of the other two persons who were arrested with the former minister. ABUJA— The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, yesterday, stated that the Port Harcourt Refinery will resume crude oil production by the end of June and will contribute about five million litres of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, also known as petrol to Nigeria’s fuel supply. Speaking during a tour of NNPC retail outlets in Abuja, Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Mr. Joseph Dawha, also assured Nigerians that the perennial fuel scarcity will be addressed before the end of the week, as it currently has about 1.1 billion litres of petrol in its storage, which is equivalent to 27 days sufficiency and has deployed 428 truckloads of fuel to Abuja and across the country, in conjunction with the Pipelines and Product Marketing Company (PPMC). According to Dawha, the NNPC is carrying out a phased implementation of the rehabilitation of the refineries, stating that work at the Port Harcourt refinery is almost complete and will soon start producing at 80 per cent of its installed capacity, contributing about five million litres of PMS per day. He said: “We took a conscious decision that if the refineries are not in a good state to process crude for maximum gains, then there was no point in sending crude to the refineries. What we do is to try and fix it, so that by the time it starts processing the crude, then we get real value for the crude we have sent to the refineries. “We are satisfied with the level of work carried out so far on the Port Harcourt refinery so that if we start processing crude now, we will get real value, and they will not be any value distortion that would have been the case if the refineries are not operating optimally.” He, however, blamed the perennial fuel crisis situation in the country on distribution challenges recorded in some parts of the country, particularly in Lagos. - Source: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/06/p-h-refinery-resumes-production-month-end-2/ |
I just got my order (S1505194105), it took ShippyMe 13 business days, so just a day late. I was worried because of the reviews here, but I'm glad my experience went well. I would be using them again ![]() |
aliumujib:LOL! I'm expecting a parcel too. You should be calm, like me ![]() |
geek30:What shipping method did you use? Did you insure the item(s)? |
frisky2good:Thanks for the advice, frisky2good. Like I said, I will share my experiences here. I have been notified of receipt by ShippyMe and I consolidated and insured all items. I made payment yesterday so I'm assuming they'll be sorted out and my shipments will be assigned a batch and an ETA soon. I've used MyUS in the past and my dealings with them were flawless, so good I felt the need to review their services on my blog, I plan to do the same for ShippyMe. From what I can tell so far, ShippyMe is lacking dedicated man power. One of the easiest ways to get a customer frustrated is by keeping them in the dark. I sent a mail with some questions on the 21st of May (Thursday) and didn't hear back until the 25th (Monday), so they failed to reply on Friday (24 hours from the time) and delayed responding till Monday most likely because of the weekend. The e-mail was regarding a parcel that according to FedEx tracking had since been delivered but I wasn't notified by ShippyMe 24 hours after. I was sick worried about the location of the item especially after reading the stories about theft above. I found this strange because some smaller accessories which were delivered a day after the major item reflected way before the core item. As at the time of this post, all items have been marked as "Received", payment made ($124.60) and I'm awaiting an ETA. ShippyMe has the infrastructure in place, a well designed system and friendly customer care representatives (when they reply). They just need dedicated employees. For now, it's easy to assume the company is being run as a hobby. Either that, or they are overwhelmed by the amount of customers they have and orders they receive. They have great potential but need to work at it. |
frisky2good:Actually, they've sent me all notifications for items received. |
Catlanta:It's been 24 hours since my parcel arrived ShippyMe and I have not received any notification regarding it. It's also marked as "Not yet received" under my ShippyMe account. Tracking #: S1505194105 |
