GamingRe: Top ISP For Gaming In Nigeria (part 1) by n3rve(m): 1:23pm On Oct 07, 2013
PSN: RaalFy | SegFault_x0

I'm fed up with the lack of stable Internet connection. I'm a heavy online gamer and I have MTN Hynet, Globacom, Etisalat and all of them fail me. The best among all of them is Hynet, but even that is a PITA. I have Connectify 7 running on my Laptop, so I just connect to any of them and let Connectify serve the PS3. Sometimes I even wire from Hynet directly to the console, but most of the time, traffic is routed through my router. I just alternate and shake things up until I get a manageable link.

For now, I'm considering a VSAT solution and I may be going YahClick soon.

GamingWhich Network Do You Use For Online Gameplay? by n3rve(op): 2:55pm On Jul 28, 2013
Hey everyone.

Which ISP do you use for online gaming and which plan? I've been using MTN Hynet (based on Wimax technology) with the 2mb plan and it's been okay until the past few weeks, and it just seems to be deteriorating. After a short period of game play, I get signed out of PSN or the game just gets very laggy and frustrating.

As for GSM networks, I've tried Airtel, GLO, and Etisalat, all irritating. I've heard about YahClick (VSAT) and I've been considering them but I want to hear from other online gamers. What do you use?

Update: I'm in Abuja, FYI; Speedtest.net reports attached.

Judging from the results, GLO GSM wins, but MTN Hynet is a lot more stable.

GamingRe: Fifa 13 Online Pass Problem by n3rve(m): 9:28pm On Mar 17, 2013
I signed up using Taiwan and was able to download the Online Pass. Had to create another account to download the bonus Nuketown 2025 DLC for Black Ops II. Sony, such ass holes for making things so complicated.

Petrson, which country did you use to sign up for the Asian account?
I just signed up with Japan, barely managed to get through the process because of the language but FIFA 13 is still throwing up the error.
GamingCOD Black Ops II Revolution Season Pass/dlc by n3rve(op): 2:13am On Mar 06, 2013
I've tried to pay for the Revolution Season Pass/DLC for my PS3, but the PSN store isn't debitting my Zenith/GTB MasterCards. I'm assuming this is due to the unavailability of PSN to Nigerians yet. I've heard that a PSN card can be purchased and used to add funds to my PSN wallet. However, I've not been able to get the PSN Cards too, and Amaazon wouldn't sell to users outside the USA (stupid, considering it'll be a digital delivery. Is there a way around this?

Is the warranty seal broken or not?
And 50k is way too much. The newest ps3 ultra-slim is $300 (about 45k) on BestBuy, so you should really beat this down if you're really looking to sell.

GamingRe: How Annoying Can Nigeria's Internet Network Be For Gaming by n3rve(m): 2:20pm On Dec 22, 2012
I use MTN's Hynet router with their 2mbits package (actually 1.8mbits Down/400kbits Up) capped at 2GB for =N=4,000.00 / monthly. It's manageable for the most part (annoying when playing MK9, sweet with COD). 2hrs of game play (COD) uses just about 15MB so the 2GB package takes me the whole month. This particular router is exclusively for my PS3s cool

Da_b¤§§.:
i was wondering how useful siri will be in nigeria.
Can it tell You of a resturant closeby? Can it even understand what u say? you know, with the nigerian accent. Cos most of the voice apps i have tried hardly get the a sentence right.
??
It works for some basic stuff, setting the timer, sending text messages, calling contacts. I've also had some fun with it too smiley Try saying "Siri you're amazing", "Siri you're uselsss", "Siri you're wonderful", I get funny responses cheesy I've not used it for anything besides those which doesn't make it very useful. It wasn't the reason I got the 4S so I'm good with or without it.

smiley I jailbroke my iPad 2 & iPhone 4S the hour Chronic Dev Team released the Mac version. However, I was hoping CDevTeam will keep the jailbreak a little longer so as to jailbreak 5.1 which will fix the battery problems iOS 5.0.1 have been experiencing. My iPhone 4S battery doesn't last as long as my iPhone 4 on 4.3.3 sad - Anyways, still a lot to be happy for, my iDevices are free. cheesy

You should check out DarkKnight MotorSport on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/DarkKnightMotorSport?feature=g-user-u). We own/drive these high performance vehicles, the M series and AMG builds, although most of us use Mercedes. Personally, I'm looking to buy the 2012 Mercedes Benz C63 AMG before september this year.
ComputersRe: Huawei USB Modem Unlocker - Download Here! by n3rve(m): 9:57pm On Dec 05, 2011
You're welcome smiley
The algorithm used to generate the unlock code was extracted from the .exe linked in the opening post and rewritten to work with PHP. I don't know who the actual coder is. All I did was take the code, clean it up & make it available for everyone's use, I think a few other Nairaland members have a copy hosted on their servers, particularly Mobinga.

"Pwned! is a slang that means "owned" or to get owned, usually used by someone who just beat someone else in something. As regards iOS, when you jailbreak[?] your iPhone, you are removing the limitations imposed by Apple on devices running the iOS operating system through use of custom kernels.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Frsc: The New Driver’s Licenseand Number Plates Controversy by n3rve(m): 11:25am On Dec 01, 2011
tayo_ast:
How?
A good majority of drivers on Nigerian roads are not qualified drivers. Considering that they'll examine every license holder before issuing the card, we should begin to see improved driving coordination on our roads.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Frsc: The New Driver’s Licenseand Number Plates Controversy by n3rve(m): 10:15am On Dec 01, 2011
Also, the process involved in acquiring new driver’s license is just cumbersome. One has to fillin the accreditation identification on the web page, paying to a bank, visiting the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO) for signature on the form, driving tests at the VIO’s office, passing which you go to the FRSC office for physical capture. If you pass you get a temporary license for 15 to 30 days then you visit the VIO’s office to collect the new license.
In my honest opinion, it's about time. Those processes are very welcome, and is similar to the process of acquiring licenses in other developed countries. The only issue might be the cost of acquiring the license, I think it's a bit steep, for the average wage slave, IMO. Besides that, I welcome this development, it will definitely bring order and improve safety on our roads.

Sorry for going off topic, but another thing I think you need to look into is the inability to modify posts in this board. It brings up the post alright, but when you try to submit the modified content, it fails with the generic "An Error Has Occurred".
