She told Cross few minutes ago that the only explanation she has as to why Pere spoke in favour of Alex that day is that he is jealous that she flirted with Cross.

Think this through:

Last week's nominations was for eviction, Mercy nominated Pere. When she was asked why, she said that it's because Pere is one of the strongest Housemates in the House (she's genuinely right because based on past performance any housemate will assume that Whitemoney and Pere are the strongest male).

This week's nominations was to save, Mercy nominated Cee-C. She's reiterated the narrative that she wants a female top 5.

If her reason for nominating Cee-C is for her not to get stronger at the polls, Mercy herself would not have taken the immunity game seriously so that she can go to the polls and get stronger.

If her reason for nominating Cee-C is for her not to get stronger at the polls, she would have nominated Soma and Ilebaye last week (the two that are perceived by the housemates to be the weakest) instead of Pere who will get stronger at the polls.

She nominated Cee-C so that the viewers can take her narrative of wanting women to win seriously.

Mercy has been clear that she wants 5 women to finish top and a woman to win. It is why Ebuka asked her the gender question. Mercy's strategy this season is to cause a gender war and she simply selected the female she thinks is the strongest and the only one she has a bit of respect for due to her pedigree.

On the other part, Whitemoney approached Mercy for a conversation last week and told her that the other housemates are jealous of them because they are past winners. He opined that since they are past winners and have the fans, they should finish 1st and 2nd. Whitemoney promised to stand by Mercy and he genuinely believes that he's in an alliance with Mercy after the failed deal.

This clearly explains why Mercy and Whitemoney nominated Cee-C and Mercy respectively.
