4nobody4every1: @Spyder880, n3xt and other professionals in the building industry in the house, l read this article online while going through some stuff, do we have this kind of cement in Nigeria?....It is called green cement and it is said to be Eco friendly unlike what we are already used to in Nigeria. There are so many types of cement in production in Nigeria (ashakacem, supaset, elephant classic and the different Dangote range etc) and interestingly there are so many additives that we do not talk about on Nairaland properties. These cement and additives makes it possible to use concrete for different applications. Now, this big Q cannot be answered without first understanding "What makes a building Eco-friendly?" Green, Eco or sustainable, building is the practice of creating and using healthier and more resource-efficient materials and processes for the construction of a house. So in order words, the replacement of environmental degradable materials in construction. So "traditional cement" which is not an Eco-friendly material is substituted in construction with an alternative material. The only material and process I knew of is the use of CGF or FlyAsh (Stone Dust) in concrete to reduce the quantity of cement to about 25% in concrete production. This makes the concrete environmental friendly. The other Eco-friendly product are pre-packed in bags as Pre-Mix aggregates for different concrete applications. I don't think we have local manufacturers of those yet in Nigeria. |

babalose:Not a crime. Just that few weeks cannot raise a mature tree for me even with the billions. I want to nurture it, prune it and watch it gradually mature into a tree that flourish and bring forth good fruit in seasons.#NotInARace |
skimanski:Short term. We wanna build a house that we will live in for decades in few weeks. #MoneySpeaking. |
skimanski:The true word from my good friend. Gracias! This is evident as lack of foresight. Now if this is happening to the high and the mighty, the men of timber and caliber, the pros and the industry giants - I believe we have a real long way to go in Nigeria because these are the men who rule in the affairs of this country. We are blessed with lots of sissy men without great foresight in Nigeria who are very good at apportioning blames while the system continue to crumble. How do you explain billion dollar investment been washed away just because of lack of good planning? Good morning!!
