Chartey: Same tp with multitv. They're showing the same stuff as silicon tv. And yes no audio yet. #waitandsee mode.

I think it depends on your rx, Mine is 4940 and there is audio but its AC3(i pressed audio button and saw it)

Nothing much. Just that no more delay when switching between channels. I am fed up with the box really.

Press the menu button and select installation.
Check to see if their is an ''option'' sub menu under the installations option.

@Olenyi, The 4940 software i downloaded from that site is still same with the one that ungraded via OTA/strong website. Below are screen shot of how i went about it. Thanks

odilibe: Obviously channels can come up on both H/V polarity on same tp...it depends on the LNB skew...although you can't get best signal quality when such thing happens.. cheers

Thank you for this point! My question is- with my signal strenght @ 91% on a 90cm dish (Astra), will skewing the lnb to either be V or H increase the signal to 100%? My location is Abuja. Thank you.

Are u currently using a loop out or u want to try it out? Why not get a dual view lnb (around 1200 nigerian naira for strong lnb). It's a better option dan looping out.

Dual lnb + two decoders! Is that what you mean. Just wanna try it out. I mean extend it to another tv in the bedroom or please whats the best option of running multiple view with just a decoder. Thank you for being there.

Dats not supporsed to be. Channels can't come up on different polarisations except u're talking about 12722 v/h 26657.
But one station can't come up on different polarisation. Check ur setup. Its either ur lnb or diseqc, if u are using one, is faulty.

Also if u did a ''loop out'' from one receiver to another, dats when such things happen. Regards.

I've checked. All channels on Astra(multitv) 12522-19531 came out on H & V. Please if you are familiar with 4940 what kind of cable can i use for the loopout. Another thing i notice is when using the Picture-in-picture function i cant e.g combine channels from multitv & mytv, rather both channels gotta come from the same bird. As for my diseq will replace it 2moro and report back. Thank you

thats d problem with that str. you can change from h to v if it didn't pop up. i finally sold mine looking for 4930

Maybe your own version of firmware is different from mine. What i do is enter a frequency and symbol rate, when it comes to changing the Polarization it does complain of SAME TP EXIST but if you press Ok button it gives you an option to change from V to H.

Thanks bro, i got kktv on that frequency@84% also it poped up on 12557H 3095@51%. Oga Olenyi i also note that most channels came up both on V and H
@Suleiman, CITIZEN TV came up on 12577V 3099@58%. Please note that i am using 4940 which upgraded itself via OTA, although i did a blind scan. Thank you.

My appreciation to all the prof on this thread, having quitely watch and learned from you guys, i was able 2 track multi tv on my own with a 90cm & signal @ 91% on an srt4940, only kktv refuse to pop up. Also i tracked mytv with a 60cm dish with emmanuel tv @73%.ctl africa, noliwood &noliwood plus, citizen tv etc all came up. I am glad, Merry Xmas to all.

The Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) yesterday began raiding premises and arresting persons involved in the unauthorised distribution of Digital Satellite Television (DSTV) and other cable networks signals and contents in parts of Benin City.

The raid, which took operatives of the Copyright Commission, backed by men of the Nigeria Police and Multichoice anti-piracy team, through New Benin, Okhoro, Medical Store and Sapele roads areas, led to the arrest of seven suspects (two female and five male) while about 20 decoders of different type were impounded.

At Okhoro and Medical Store streets, a two-room apartment was discovered to be filled with Strong brand of decoders and decoders of other cable networks which broadcast signals to about 200 houses around the area without authorization.

It was the same story at Sapele road and Ehwotubu and other parts of the metropolis as the team disconnected and destroyed cables and boosters used for the illegal operation.

Speaking to newsmen who accompanied the team, the leader of the NCC team, led by its Director of Enforcement, Augustine Amodu, warned those engaged in the illegal act to desist as the commission was ready to arrest and prosecute not only those behind it, but those who broadcast the signals to others after collecting fees ranging from N500 to N3, 000.

He said commission, backed by Section 38 of the Copyright Act, will continue to raid and arrest those involved, adding that they had successfully prosecuted a notorious pirate who was recently sentenced to two and half years in jail.

Multichoice Senior Anti-piracy Manager, Frikkie Jonker, urged Nigerians to connect to the cable stations through the right way, saying that any sales and distribution of devices used illegally to pirate and access DSTV channels were all punishable under the copyright law. He also frowned at the use and screening of DSTV channels in commercial premises, including hotels, pubs, multi-tenant apartments, restaurants and clubs without obtaining a commercial licence from Multichoice.
