Career / Re: Is 13th Month Salary Taxable by Naijaaccountwiz: 8:50am On May 22, 2018
praxs:
Salute great nairalanders!

I work with a multinational organization. We are paid 13thmonth salary (bonus) at year end. However, tax is deducted and we end up getting net instead of gross. I tried to search online to see what the Nigerian tax law states as to taxation of 13month salary but couldn't find any.

To that, I brought it here for the experienced and learned heads to throw light on the subject. Please is it taxable? And where can I get where the Nigerian tax law talks about this so I can follow it up in my organization
It is taxable, even if you classify them as something we call benefit in kind, which things like allowances fall under, it is still subject to PAYE

Very sound effort from the OP.
I can attest to the validity of his post.

I myself am at the final professional stage of ICAN, i have written all my exams from the AAT till now without ever taking lectures and with just one reference in ATS 2 QA.
And i intend to finish without ever stepping in a lecture centre.

Goodluck to fellow comrades writing this may diet.
Same here, I never went for tutorials for once. The key to passing ICAN is to cultivate the mindset that it is not a monster, once you do that, then make out time for indepth studying nothing will stop you from passing.
I believe only in the first myth. Whatever you see in your results is what you got ICAN will never take a point away from you.
For those who are having difficulty in any area, you can contact me for tutorship or visit my blog at www.Naijaaccountwiz.com
Godspeed!

My data just expired and sms alert was sent from Glo network. I'm glad to inform you that I was happy it was finally over with the frustration of the highest order. For the past one or more week, I couldn't
open a website page with it.
It was badly timed for glo: reduction of data volume by half combined with the dead network. Bye bye to rubbish.
Please, don't tell me that it was due to my area.
I'm patiently waiting for the 18th when my own will expire and I'll gladly say bye bye too and no it is not your area. Nonsense over 5gb is going to waste
