Naijafixed reports that one Tunde Oyediran has been arrested by the Police in Osun State for allegedly hitting his wife, Sarah to death with a cutlass.

The man who seems to be suspect was also said to have used the same weapon to kill two children living with the couple around 11 pm on Friday.

It was gathered that the suspect, who lived around ‘Wednesday Market’ in Inisa, in Odo-Otin Local Government Area of the State later cut himself on the hand and stomach with the same cutlass before raising alarm that he was attacked by unknown individuals.

Yemi Opalola, the State’s Police Command Public Relations Officer, disclosed that police had visited the scene and suspected foul play leading to the arrest of the husband.

She disclosed that preliminary investigation led to the arrest of the husband where he was receiving treatment, while corpses of the deceased were deposited at a morgue in Ikirun for post mortem examination.

“The Commissioner of Police, Undie Adie, has ordered a thorough investigation into the matter to bring the culprit to justice.More in Home

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says Ibrahim Magu, the suspended acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), must be made to answer for alleged corruption and violation of rules.

PDP, in a statement issued by Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, its National Publicity Secretary, in Abuja, said that Magu must also answer for allegations of victimisation of Nigerians and stealing of recovered funds for which he has been suspended.

There are insinuations in the public space that the indicted EFCC boss was also harassing certain judges to get a conviction on cases.

“Similarly, there are several cases of officers and ranks of the commission whose employment in the service were unjustly suspended or terminated,” Ologbondiyan alleges.

‌What Nigerians expect at this time is for the Federal Government to ensure Magu’s prosecution in court.

“Nigerians expect the government to take necessary and decisive steps to restore the integrity of the EFCC.

OPEN LETTER TO GOV WILLIE OBIANO

Dear Governor,

Hope this finds you well, healthy, hearty and safe from the ravages of the corona virus. I salute you in the name of the father, son and holy spirit, Amen. Permit me to reach you through this medium as you hardly respond to my private mails, and correspondences since you assumed office for the second, and last tenure. In your reelection bid, which I campaigned vigorously for your victory, I suffered untold hardship in the hands of Ndi Ogbunike in Oyi Local government area because they blamed me for everything you did not do right and for the ones you did well they did not celebrate me.

Please, note that, I did not intend to achieve any parochial or cynical interest for making this a public consumption, no matter how minute it may be conjured up. Rather, I write in trepidation, perturbation and outrage, just like every average Onye Anambra, who is patriotic to the development of this state. Without any modicum of doubt, certain voice needs be added to the existing cacophony of voices and torrent of criticisms, unheard in every nook and cranny, as regard the state of affairs in Anambra.

Your Excellency sir, permit me to state from the onset that this writer is infamously referred to as a prodigal member of your political party APGA, and that points to the fact that, I stand with the dictates of objectivism and constructiveness; thus, I am not driven by any self-interest. My stakes are in two folds. Firstly, I have always been a patriotic citizen of the state whose right to express himself is fully guaranteed under section 39 of the 1999 constitution; the grund norm that legitimatises your administration as the governor of Anambra state. Secondly, I am a seasoned broadcast journalist, a veteran Nollywood movie practitioner, who, in the formative years of his career, is bemused by the goings in this state; particularly in the tourism industry, which surely may or are tragically affecting my career’s peregrination.

The current state of ruins of the UNESCO recognised world heritage site, the Ogbunike cave could have been avoided if government had not abandoned the site for years.
For the past 6years of your administration, the cave did not get any intervention fund from its running or developement hence the dilapidated state of the world heritage site. Currently, the cave is inhabitable even for the reptiles, grasscutters, and soldier ants as the site remained abandoned.

Your excellency, sometime in june, 2014, you stormed the Ogbunike cave, and promised to turn it to tourist wonderland. Infact, you vowed to transform the historic Ogbunike cave to a first class tourist haven. You told ndi Ogbunike that your administration would transform the cave into first class leisure world with modern facilities, and a five star hotel located within the area. Also, you went further to annonuce that the proposed resort would incorporate modern recreational facility for children and all the facilities that would make for perfect holiday getaway. Earlier you had flagged off construction on the road leading to the cave, and ndi Ogbunike rolled out drums in jubilation, but was shortlived.
Miffed at the state of ruins in Ogbunike cave, I hereby wish to register my disappointment that just as the past administrations did not care about the tourist centre which could have improved the revenue base of the State; your government has reneged in redeeming any of the promises made 6years ago. Our heritage is in ruin, it is our commonwealth in destruction, and it is unfortunate that we had a government that cared less whether this tourist attraction is left like this. This is not just an attraction; it is also a revenue earner for the state. There is still time for your government to develop Ogbunike cave to occupy pride of place as a first class tourist attraction in Nigeria.

Your Excellency, I hope that this letter will find a place with your esteemed self. May this get to your table in due course.

Some of these misguided individuals may be suffering from a classic case of Stockholm Syndrome and therefore should be pitied rather than condemned.

Our position against the flawed foundational structures upon which our British colonial masters constructed the fraudulent ediffice Flora Shaw originally named Nigga-area later anglicised to Nigeria by her lover Frederick Luggard The Creator, is unwavering. The horrific British colonial experiment we now know as the Damnable Zoological Republic of Nigger-area must not be allowed to stand. It doesn’t matter what ignorant neo-colonial slaves say or do, the Fulani supporter of APC Caliphate will continue to use unity of Niggeria as an excuse to continue their age long camping of mass murder, genocide and ethnic cleansing as millions watch on impotently under the guise of keeping a British colonial product one.

Each person is entitled to his or her opinion about whether to be a free soul or to continue living as the glorified slave they are. For us in IPOB, we have chosen to be free but we shall let those that wish to be enslaved to continue to do so till eternity. It’s all about choice!

Again we reiterate that we are not expecting every person to support Biafra agitation as long as we know that currently 99.9 per cent of our people are in support of the movement IPOB is making towards our quest for Biafra independence. We are not perturbed by the utterances of a few compromised politicians and their shameless agents, who because of their desire to please their slave masters, are ever ready to sabotage our collective interest. A million of them cannot deter us in our quest and unstoppable march to restore Biafra in the shortest possible time.

The Nigerian Medical Association and the Nigeria Union of Teachers, on Tuesday, took a swipe at the Federal Government over its “safe reopening of schools”.

The apex organisations of medical doctors and teachers in the country told newsmen that the directive that graduating classes should resume was not only badly thought-out, but also could expose both teachers and pupils to the deadly coronavirus.

The NMA President, Prof Innocent Ujah, who spoke to one of our correspondents in Jos, said that given the current low level of compliance by Nigerians with COVID-19 safety protocols, it was risky to ask pupils to resume.

The NUT General Secretary, Mike Ene, said government was playing politics with the directive. He wondered how teachers, who had not been paid salaries in some states, would get money to buy personal protective equipment.

Ujah and Ene spoke just as the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, on Tuesday became the latest prominent Nigerian to test positive for the virus.

Following the governor’s disclosure of his COVID-19 status, the state government ordered commissioners and other aides of Akeredolu to compulsorily go for the coronavirus

But as concerns mounted over the spread of COVID-19, the NMA faulted Monday’s pronouncement by the Federal Government on the reopening of schools

The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, at its briefing in Abuja, said the government in what it called “safe reopening of schools,” had approved resumption of pupils in graduating classes including primary six, the Junior Secondary School 3 and the Senior Secondary School 3.

The government also lifted the ban it placed on interstate travels and domestic flights.

In approving the resumption of graduating classes, it said water must be provided in schools for hand-washing and both pupils and teachers must wear face masks while observing social distancing.
