Following the unveiling of the new wife of Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the social media space has been bombarded with photos of the adorable “Olori Moronke Naomi Silekunola Ogunwusi.”

According to reports Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, received his new wife at the palace, a day after he marked his 44th birthday on Thursday.

This was confirmed in a statement issued by the Director, Media and Public Affairs of the palace, Comrade Moses Olafare.

According to the spokesperson, the marriage rights were done privately in Akure, Ondo State and she was later received at the Ooni’s palace, Channels reports.

The statements read;

“Her Majesty, Olori Moronke Naomi Silekunola Ogunwusi is the new Yeyeluwa Oodua.

“Necessary rites fully performed.”

Recall that NairaFame reported that the monarch also took to his social media handles to express his joy and welcomed his Olori home.

“Shilekunola, Moronke, Naomi; the greatest Arsenal you can apply on this highly revered throne with many rules and regulations in the midst of undiluted tradition, heritage and culture is the “Fear of God In You”, Ooni wrote on his IG page.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Sulyman Abdulkareem, on Friday said that the university produced 103 first class students in 2017/2018 academic session.

Abdulkareem announced the figure in Ilorin at a press conference to mark the beginning of the 34th convocation ceremonies of the university.

According to him, the university will graduate a total of 12,108 students at the convocation to take place on Tuesday.

He said that 10, 330 would be awarded first degrees and diplomas, while 1, 778 would be awarded higher degrees and postgraduate diplomas.

The vice-chancellor said that 2,553 students would graduate with second class (upper division), 5,750, second class (lower division), and 1,660, third class, while 36 would graduate with a pass.

He said that seven law students from the university made first class grade in the Nigerian Law School, Abuja.

Abdulkareem hailed the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for supporting the university’s efforts in capacity building.

“The university, through the Centre for International Education’s facilitation, attracted over N16 million as TETFund grants to sponsor staff members to different parts of the world for international conferences,” he said.

He added that the university was noted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board as the Nigerian university with the highest number of international student enrollment, with about 318 foreign students from 15 countries.

The vice-chancellor said that the university had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Nigerian Army on the invention and development of polymer composite for strategic and protective defence.

He disclosed that the university invented a bullet-proof gadget which had been tested and accepted by the Nigerian Army.

Bishop Raph G.U Innocent of the Headstone tabernacle, has been confirmed to be one of the casualties of the 18-seater bus that plunged into a river along (Akala Olu) Okogbe-Mbiama Axis, East-West Road Of Ahoada West LGA, Rivers State, on Tuesday.

Seven unconscious passengers were rescued after the driver lost control, while the bus skidded off a flooded bridge before plunging into the river.

According to the conductor who survived, the bus was travelling from Port Harcourt to Yenagoa when the incident happened. He said there were about 20 passengers, excluding children, in the bus. Local divers have continued searching for victims.

EXCESSIVE AND ILLICIT BANK CHARGES! Senate urges CBN to suspend ATM card maintenance charges

The Senate has passed a resolution calling on the Central Bank of Nigeria to suspend the ATM card maintenance charges being deducted from customers.

The Senate made this known via a tweet @SPNigeria.

This resolution came as part of a motion on the illicit and excessive bank charges on customers accounts, sponsored by Senator Olugbenga Ashafa (Lagos East, APC).

The Senate also called on commercial banks operating in the country to configure their machines to dispense up to N40,000 per withdrawal pending the outcome of the investigation by the Senate committees tasked with investigating the excessive and illicit bank charges.

Speaking on the Motion, the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki said: “This is a motion that affects the lives of every Nigerian — irrespective of what part of the country you come from or whatever political affiliation you might have. This is why we are here: to always defend and protect the interests of the Nigerian people.”

The Senate President stated that the Senate must work to ensure that the Senate’s resolutions on the excessive bank charges goes beyond the debate stage, so that whatever action the Upper Legislative Chamber takes, would come into effect.

“This Senate has done this many times before; when there was a hike in the mobile telecommunication data charges, we intervened and put an end to that. When there were discrepancies and increases in electricity prices, we also took action. We have done this on a number of similar cases. Therefore, on this, I want us to take effective resolutions,” Saraki said.

Other Senators who contributed to the debate, called on banks to review their charges.

“The common man is also a victim,” said Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, “Banks declare profits and you wonder where these profits are coming from — it’s from the sweat of the common man. Let us come up with a law that puts banks on their toes.”

“It won’t be out of place to institute a committee that will call on the CBN to tell us what these charges are about. The Senate by fiat should abolish charges if they can’t be verified,” said Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah.

“The Senate must take a serious stand on this issue. Nigerians are really suffering. The banking system is not encouraging. I had an issue, took it to the bank and was refunded but how many Nigerians can do this? The issue needs to be addressed,” stated Senator Kabiru Gaya.

“For me, this is a major step that we are taking. This is because I introduced the first ATM machine that came into Nigeria over 25 years ago,” the Senate President, Dr. Saraki told his colleagues, “Now, after 25 years, we should have grown out of these excessive charges and moved on. So, I believe that this something that we must address to create an environment that protects all Nigerians, because these kind of charges in this economy affects everyone.”

The Senate further directed its Committees on Banking, Insurance & other Financial Institutions and Finance to conduct an investigation into the propriety of ATM card maintenance charges in comparison with international best practices and report back to the Senate.

The Senate also directed the aforementioned committees to invited the Governor of the CBN to appear before it to explain why the official charges as approved by the CBN are skewed in favour of the banking institutions as against the ordinary customers of the banks.

Finally, the Senate called on the Consumer Protection Council to look into the various complaints of excess and unnecessary charges by Nigerian Banks.

A female Twitter user, identified as Mpilo Khodi, has narrated how an unidentified pastor told her to open her legs so he can anoint her vagina.

The South African lady said the pastor told her that the holy oil needs to be inside her private parts to heal her from all her relationship troubles and he has to be the one to apply the oil.

The Twitter user said when she refused the pastor, he got angry saying she will never be healed because she asks too many questions.

“Making it clear that I will not do it, they threaten me with death, saying if I spread bad things about them I will die,” she said.

Khodi further said when she reported the case to her colleague who introduced her to the church, the lady said it’s normal, that her pastor sleeps with them to “put holiness in them”.

Khodi made these claims in a lengthy twitter thread while responding to an ongoing court case of a Nigerian Pastor, Tim Omotosho, charged with human trafficking and sexual assault in South Africa.

Using hashtag #Omotoso, many women are speaking out against fake pastors who rape vulnerable female members of their churches under the guise of performing deliverance.

An 11-year-old secondary school pupil has died after been chased by his teachers.

Isaac Sunday Okon, a pupil at the Government Secondary School, located along Atekong Drive, State Housing Estate, Calabar, Cross River State, was electrocuted by a naked electric wire, during the closing period of the school.

Isaac’s mom, Happiness, who is a trader, said

“Isaac is the only son of the family. Their father died since 2011. I am the only one struggling to take care of them.” his mom, Happiness Sunday Okon, said, in tears.

An eyewitness named Paul, who is also a student of the school said the incident happened when they were asked to pick up dirt littered around the school compound before going home.

“We were asked to come out and pick up pieces of papers and dirt littered around the school compound. The teachers were flogging us and it triggered fear and everyone was running.

Unknown to the boy, there was a high tension wire resting on the ground at the far end of the school. He mistakenly stepped on it and got roasted.

“We that saw him started shouting and calling the teachers to at least call the PHEDC, but everyone said they don’t have airtime – if they’d called on time for the NEPA people to switch off their light, the boy wouldn’t have died.

Everyone was afraid to touch him, even the teachers that inadvertently caused the death. It was later, a group of people came and used wood to remove him and he was already dead.”

The Police have arrested 16 suspected kidnappers, whose ages range from 16 to 45 at Ankpa in Kogi, who specializes in killing innocent people and harvesting their vital organs.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Acting DCP Jimoh Moshood, who announced the arrest on Friday in Abuja, named the suspects as Yakubu Hamidu (gang leader), Abdullahi Ibrahim, Shaibu Adamu and Ubile Attah.

The others are Julius Hassan, Shehu Haliru, Abdullahi Tijjani, Sale Adama, Musa Abdullahi, Yakubu Yahaya, Adama Shagari, Isaac Alfa, Baba Isah, Idoko Benjamin, Akwu Audu and Abdullahi Zakari.

He said one of the suspects, Ubile Attah masterminded the kidnap and murder of a Police Inspector, Abdul Alfa on Nov. 28, 2017 and snatched his rifle.

“Yakubu Hamidu, Gang Leader (Vigilante Commander of Ankpa), a native of Ankpa and the vigilante leader in the community along with his vigilante guards are the hit-men responsible for the killings of several victims and removing their organs and sell them to personalities within and outside the State for rituals,” Moshood said.

Moshood added that Shaibu Adamu a.k.a AYE MARINA, without known profession or any known means of livelihood, was suspected also to have built and own mansions and four filling stations in Ankpa, and another four at Onyangede in Benue State, with the proceeds of the crime.

“The suspects further confessed to the killings and removal of body parts of the following victims James, Christopher, Mohammed, Small Case (Real name unknwon), Omu and Inspector Abdul Alfa,” he added.

THEIR MOM JUST HAD A BABY! Randy man sleeps with twin stepdaughters, impregnates one.

The Police in Abia State have arrested a man, one Cyril Ogolo, for allegedly having sexual relations with his twin stepdaughters and impregnating one.

Ogolo’s wife, who is the mother of the 17-year-old twin girls, was recently delivered of a baby. However, one of the twin girl is also three-month pregnant for her stepfather, who is an indigene of Opobo, in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area of Rivers State.

NairaFame gathered that Ogolo is a spiritualist/herbalist based in Aba, Abia State.

According to TheNation, the mother of the twins left the biological father of the twins, Mr. Maduabuchi, in 2010. Since then, she and the twins had been living with Ogolo.

It was further gathered that the twins just finished their secondary final examination.

Sources close to the family, who would not want to be named, said that the father of the girls, Mr. Maduabuchi, died and was buried last year after efforts to bring back home his wife failed.

According to one of the sources, the twins had resisted Ogolo’s several attempts to sleep with them. He, however, was able to have his way when efforts made by the girls to draw the attention of their mother to the actions of their randy father failed to yield fruit.

It was said that the matter was reported to the Azuka Police Station off Ikot Ekpene-Aba Expressway when the twins absconded their house to take refuge at a friend’s house in Uyo because they could not face their mum’s wrath.

The case was transferred to the Aba Area Command where the matter is being investigated.

According to the police source, Ogolo had petitioned one of the Pentecostal Churches where the wife worships, accusing them of aborting the baby one of the twins was carrying.

The source however said that upon the strength of the petition by Ogolo, they subjected the twins to medical test only to discover that one of them is carrying three months pregnancy for the stepfather.

The source stated that Ogolo when questioned by the investigating officer, confessed sleeping with the girls and being responsible for the child one of them is carrying.

The source added that Ogolo would be charged to court as soon as investigation into the matter was concluded.

The Police in Osun State have busted and dismantled a fraudsters’ shrine at Oke-Woru, Gbaemu, Osogbo.

The Police said one Oyegbile Durojaye was arrested in connection to the dreaded 419 shrine.

The Commissioner of Police in Osun State, Mr Fimihan Adeoye, said the shrine was being used for organised crime by fraudsters.

Durojaye confessed that the shrine was set up by a gang of nine fraudsters, who met inside a police cell in Lagos, to dupe people on the pretext of helping them overcome their problems.

According to him:

“We usually bring our victims from Lagos and finish the deal here in the shrine in Osogbo. We are using this whole building and no one enters here that would not be scared.

But it is a mere costume. We have some women among us whose role was to act as witches. We have special rooms decorated in a scary way and we have one elderly man among us whose role was to act as spirit.

My role is to bring our victims to Osogbo from Lagos and present such person to the witches and the spirit in the dead of the night. Then, the witches and the spirit would tell such person to make his demands and pay.”

Police detectives are on the trail of other members of the gang.

A Chief Magistrate’s Court in Minna has ordered the remand in prison custody of a 32-year-old farmer after he pleaded guilty to a charge of rape.

Rilwanu Salisu is being tried over the rape of a 78-year-old woman., contrary to section 282 of the penal code law.

According to the police, Salisu injured and damaged the elderly woman’s private parts.

According to the Police Prosecutor, Mr Daniel Ikwoche, the victim’s son, Mukhtar Garba, reported the matter at the Nasko Police Station on Sept. 14.

Ikwoche quoted the complainant as alleging that the accused person, a resident of Kwada village in Magama Local Government Area, entered into the room of his mother, while she was asleep, and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.

He further quoted the complainant as saying that the victim sustained injuries in her private part and was bleeding.

When the charge was read to the accused person, he pleaded guilty and begged the court for leniency.

However, the presiding chief magistrate, Nasiru Muazu, declined to take the plea of the accused person because his court lacked jurisdiction to entertain the matter.

Muazu directed the Police to forward a duplicate copy of the case file to the State Director of Public Prosecution for legal advice.

He, thereafter, ordered the accused person to be remanded in prison custody pending the outcome of the advice, and adjourned the case to Oct. 25, for further mention.

ONE WAS CAUGHT RED-HANDED! Lagos State University sacks two professor, others for sexual harassment

The Governing Council of the Lagos State University has approved the dismissal of three lecturers for sexual harassment and misconduct.

The council took the decision at its 119th statutory Meeting held on Thursday, 4 October 2018, as recommended by the Joint Council/Senate (Academic) Disciplinary Committee.

Those dismissed are Dr. Odubunmi Ayoola Sunkanmi, Associate Professor, Department of Economics; Dr. Ogunwande Isiaka Ajani, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry and Dr. Gbeleyi Emmanuel Orilade, Lecturer II, Department of Anatomy, Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM), Ikeja, Lagos.

It was gathered that the two other lecturers, whose offences were not disclosed, escaped sack as council directed the university management to issue him warning letter and the fifth lecturers got an advisory letter.

Dr. Odubunmi, was arrested by LASU security operatives with the help of a nongovernmental organisation. His arrest took place three days to his professorial interview.

Odubunmi was said to have invited a female student to his office, on Saturday, to rewrite an examination, locked the door and began to romance her before the bubble burst.

Unknown to Dr. Odubunmi, the female student was fitted with a secret camera and was monitored by the non-governmental organisation and LASU security operatives in another office close to his.

According to a source, the student, who was disturbed by the persistent pressure from the lecturer, had approached the NGO to seek intervention.

The NGO was said to have notified the university management, which in turn promised to ‘play along’ towards catching the lecturer red-handed.

The same allegation applied to Dr. Ogunwande. For Dr. Gbeleyi, he was alleged to have injected female students, sedated them in the laboratory before having sexual intercourse with them.

The acting Coordinator, Center for Information Press and Public Relations (CIPPR), Mr. Adeola Adekoyam confirmed that the Governing Council has approved the dismissal of the three lecturers at its meeting on Thursday.

Adekoya, who could not give details of the decisions by the Prof. Adebayo Ninalowo-led Governing Council, said that his department was expecting the decision extract of the meeting.

His words:

“Yes, the Governing Council took the decision on Thursday. The council division is yet to furnish my office with details. I don’t have an idea whether it is sack, dismissal or termination of appointment.”

On the three ASUU LASU exco case, Adekoya said the case is still on-going, adding “it is not a case they (committee) have to hurry about. Maybe in the next quarter, the council will meet on their case”.

The driver of a tanker died on Friday after his tanker collided with a truck loaded with crates of alcoholic beverages.

Source gathered that three others were injured in the accident which occurred near Odogbolu junction along the Ijebu Ode/Benin Expressway.

It was further learnt that the deceased, whose identity has not been ascertained, had driven his vehicle against the traffic.

He was said to be travelling outside Ijebu Ode.

The accident was said to have led to gridlock on this axis, as vehicular traffic on the lane was diverted to the incoming lane.

The Public Relations officer of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, said firefighters were on the ground in case of any fire outbreak.

He said,

“Four people were involved in the accident. The tanker driver was the
only person in the vehicle and he was the only one who died. Three others were in the truck carrying crates of alcoholic beverages, they were injured.

“The tanker driver caused the accident. He drove against the traffic, and in the process the tanker collided with an oncoming truck laden with crates of alcoholic beverages.
