Will this policy factor Nigerians outside Nigeria using Binance? If not, is it IP based? How exactly will they work around that?

The issue is not the location of the users, the users can be anywhere even in Mars, the issue is the data of the user, anything that has to do with a Nigerian ID, whether passport, driver's license, NIN, voters card etc, cannot be used on the website, so automatically they ban all users from that country because they can't do KYC for that country's citizens....

Companies have paid countries huge fines because of this issue....

if he goes after them how, are their companies working from Nigeria. Lol, I remember when they thought they could get twitter to come to Nigeria. People still used VPN. This post is causing panic and it's fake. There is nothing Nigerian government can do about crypto. If dem block am, we use VPN. Case closed

There's what you call citizens data rights and country's policy with it, once a country places a policy to certain platforms, they will be unable to any or certain data of the citizens from that particular country....

The company will be forced to ban all users from that country, even the USA does it....

Facebook had to pay fine in billions or so to the EU because of this same issue, I think Binance also did the same to the USA....

Goes after them in what way? How exactly? By banning their websites or what exactly?

Countries do it even the USA, they don't place a ban on the website, they place a policy and the crypto platform will have to ban all Nigerians by themselves....

Only neophytes will repatriate their funds to Naira out of fear.
In fact, a person can hold and spend crypto without touching the Naira.

The experienced people understand that those making the policy are crypto illiterate.
That explains their policy summersault.

Not even the tech savyy and surveillance Chinese state could stop its citizens from holding crypto.

I'm only suspecting that's what they plan doing...

Buhari outright banned crypto. Did that stop anything?

Crypto is way bigger than Nigeria. Las las Binance might close their Nigerian offices, but there's too much money at stake for them to ban Nigerian users.

I'm no in the support of the ban...

I'm just saying that's what they might do....
Politics / Re: ANALYSIS: Tinubu Must Divide Nigeria Now - Northern Elites by NairalandForumo: 5:32pm On Feb 21
chopnaira:
If Nigeria can divide, that would mean Tinubu is doing the Lord's work.

Make everybody pack up and go to their region with immediate effect.

Only those in inter tribal marriages would be allowed to stay in a region not theirs.

Oga, that's not the way it works, if the country breaks up, you only document those not from your region, as long as they are from west Africa, they have a right to stay in your region, except you don't want to be part of ECOWAS.

Same way a Nigerian can stay in Ghana, Togo and so is the same way. You will only be documented....

lol. How will he do that grin

If he goes after the major crypto companies, the companies will have no choice than to stop all transactions and ban all Nigerian users, give them a short time to withdraw their funds, and they might have no choice than to repatriate their funds back to naira.

Politics / Re: Why Economic Practice Will Continue To Get Worse. Dollar To Get Up To N2500 by NairalandForumo: 5:19pm On Feb 21
allthingsgood:
Nigeria's economy is only going to get worse

No matter the policy of the government, nothing will work

The only way for Nigeria to come out of economic crisis for for Nigerians to repent and retrace our foot steps.

Tinubu is not the problem of Nigeria. The problem of Nigeria is Nigerians!

The level of our greed and wickedness is in direct proportion to the decline of the economy.

Our pastors, imams, prophets are all fake and have completely lost all touch with morality.

Take the dollar for instance. The only reason dollar can never go down is because Nigerians are buying it in bulk and keeping it under the bed, in hopes that naira will continue to fall and they get richer. But the same nigerian will come online to criticize Tinubu for not bringing dollar down.

Is it cost of food items? Farmers are now hoarding food items waiting for the price to rise even more so that they will get richer. Yet the same people will cry that the economy is collapsing.

Everybody wants Tinubu to do magic, but we still want to remain greedy, irresponsible and unpatriotic.

Suffer never starts!

Well, after writing all these, I don't think you know the problem of Nigeria, the same Nigerians will travel abroad and add value to the country there and they are not looking for dollars to buy and keep over there even in countries that don't spend dollars, Nigerians don't hoard food too over there...

So your points are pointless, it tells you the government is doing the wrong things that is making the citizens do what they are doing.

Who will want to hoard dollar if the naira is steady and makes gains against the dollar from time to time....

Who will want to keep food that will probably spoil if kept too long or there is surplus production from other farmers that makes the price competitive for buyers...

You guys just come out and type rubbish to defend the nonsense governments you people vote into office....

U all have been talking about this "they expect us to protest" since the days of Mohbad, I see WhatsApp TVs owned by lgb0s typing for ages now that lgb0s should avoid protest because u all think some people are expecting u to protest.

Mr Macaroni has relaeased many skits in Nigeria since after end SARS, falz has released albums since after end sars, none of them is on any run, you people lie effortlessly....

Politics / Re: Crazy Forex Demand; Nigeria Spent $13.77b As Imports From China by NairalandForumo: 6:45pm On Feb 20
femisplash:
According to United Nations COMTRADE database on international trade, Nigeria imports from China was $13.77billion during 2022. If this is not scary, what else could?, even scarier is the fact that, Nigeria's export for only the month of December, 2023 stood at $252.5million compared to the pale figures of $89.83m China spent on imports from Nigeria in the same month, more than 50% of this amount was spent on Nigeria's petroleum gas. We often sound like a broken record when we say Nigeria is an import-dependent country but how dangerously are we killing the economy with our mindless demands for foreign goods at the detriment of the local industry. A nation grappling with forex crisis would further plunge when its people scramble for scarce FX in their excessive desires for all things import and as we speak, the scrambling is increasing on a daily. As citizens, we created the mess by ourselves, when it blew up in our faces, we then charasteristically push the blames on the government.

Oga, why do we have a government if the citizens will do everything the government is supposed to do?

And yet all over Yoruba land, Chinaza and DJ switch are the only ones who caused damage through end SARS ?

Firstly I'm not a pastor and I'm not here to defend all pastors because I know there are false pastors, however I feel you people attacking all pastors is not right and they have no constitutional duty to you and nobody was forced to drop tithes and offerings to them.

Secondly even if you want to attack only fake pastors I still feel that is like fighting the symptoms instead of the cause...

If you travel to some other countries doing better than Nigeria presently, you will find out that some things people go to church for prayer here they don't go for such over there and why?

Because they have better governance by people in power, so if you channel your energy to the people in power, then you might have
lesser fake pastors to deal with...
