OBANLABAMIDELE2: Hello everyone please I need your urgent opinion on this, because I got this from the embassy today Dear BAMIDELE ABRAHAM OBANLA, This is in reference to your application for a study permit. In reviewing your application, it was noted that you may be eligible for Nigeria Student Express. To get faster processing, you must supply the following documents BAMIDELE ABRAHAM OBANLA: > Proof of Financial Support: Proof of Financial Support A mybankStatement certificate showing sufficient funds for your studies for at least 6 months and 12 months of banking history. This certificate can be obtained at This must be received at this office by: 2020/12/17 > Proof of IELTS test results: You must submit a proof of: your International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Submit a language test result that shows a score of 6.0 or higher in each skill (reading, writing, speaking and listening) on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). This must be received at this office by: 2020/12/17 Please note: All documents must be in either English or French. Any documents not in English or French must be accompanied by a certified translation. To provide the requested document(s) from the Application Details page, click the “View submitted application” button at the bottom of the page and follow the instructions provided on the Documents Submitted page. We will resume the processing of your application upon receipt of the required documents or information. Should we not receive the above document(s) or information within 30 days of the date of this letter we will assume that you wish to be processed through regular channels and your file will continue being processed accordingly. So should I do my IELTS because haven't done that before. First, when did you apply? It's not compulsory, actually it's like an heads up or advert of a faster processing time than the regular 15weeks or more. I asked when did you apply to Kno if it's worth it, cause let's assume you applied 17th Oct, from that day till the deadline for submission in December is 2momths already an mind you, you may not get the visa even after spending so much for IELTS that may or may not come out nice, plus, did you see the POF style? Minimum of about 8.1 million must be in the account consistently for 6 months plus 1year Statement of Account. Do you have such? So b4 you rush go write IELTS, consider the POF too, now if you are sure you have everything intact then you may wait for regular processing cause you'll be 2months in b4 you start a new NSE application. It's still our month of PRAISE |

NairaLuck: Yes today is the day, but note that the list was slightly adjusted on 13th November. Now while we await an updated list especially if you are landing and schooling in ONTARIO, be aware that the number of Covid19 infections in the last 2weeks has surged so much that different provinces are considering returning to Stage 2 and stage 1 that means partial lock down to curb the spread especially in Ontario. I was listening to CFTR 680News Toronto ON, CFRA 580 News Ottawa ON and a member of the Teachers Union said they might shut schools till next year that means return to full online lectures.
In light of the above, we've witnessed a slight delay in sending approved final decisions and the slight adjustment on 13th Nov, you may have noticed a delay in Letter of Introduction for some approved applications.
I believe they're working on an updated list already cause if you check the page now, for Alberta it's written that all schools are eligible, for Ontario it's written that no school is allow..... Just like that, so I believe it's worked on
Maybe they're waiting for the Health Secretary to give futher directives on allowing visitors and students or waiting for a clear directive on how to contain the spread.
I think with the second wave we might have stargerd approvals to properly streamline the number of persons flying in at a particular time.
ALL THESE IS MY OPINION, I AM NOT AN OFFICER OF THE CSBP
Haven deposited the above, I urge us to remain hopeful for a new list today and BVLs and PPRs.
It's still our month of PRAISE. Honourable Justmellow, What do you think? For the Bolded |

Dameelee: Hello guys, I just got a mail from Nairobi (I sent a webform and an email last week)... They confirmed that your DLI been on the list of covid19 readiness plan is one of the criteria's for getting PPR (it wasn't a generic mail). So if your DLI isn't on the list and you are wondering why you haven't gotten any update (especially for those of us that have AIP or Med request), this is the reason. My fellow Fanshawe people lets be hopeful that we get on that list next week. Ok, thanks for this. HorlarJP: Thanks NairaLuck, I did my biometrics a week ago now and I am anxious so much already lol, I really need this , and can I ask how long does it take to get a medical request, a friend got his medical request only just after 5 days so just asking It's possible but it's very very very rare I think I only saw 2 cases like that on this platform this year, although it was AIP dropping about 7days. Like I said patience is the key, while some get approved within a month others take months. I for instance my application is 84days today but we're still waiting, although I did upfront Medical. Those very fast applications are like 3% of applicants and sometimes are not applications from Nigeria while some are from here. Every application is different |

just a little advise to new applicants from October and maybe late September
Kindly exercise long patience The PPRs you witnessed this week and last 2weeks were applications from March to August and some August and September are yet to receive an update.
It's good to anticipate but with Canada, the only way to avoid slipping into depression is taking your mind off your application going about your normal duties, engage yourselves and redirect your mind else where. The green light to most successful applications is MEDICAL REQUEST. Even when you receive such, sometimes they still delay a lil bit before final approval, nor Let IRCC rush your application go give you NEGATIVE.
Patience is the key, Standard processing time is now 15weeks so put your mind to rest. You may only start sending emails to the different offices on your status after the standard processing time. Again, Nor Let IRCC rush your application go give you NEGATIVE.
Constant checking won't in anyway influence the decision, once submitted, the others is between GOD, the VO and the DOCs you provided, and SOP, however KEEP HOPE ALIVE
We will all get there IT IS STILL OUR MONTH OF PRAISE
Another set of BVL and PPR will rain from 15th to 18th |

Iceman2020: Schools being on the list is not a criteria as we have seen lots guys got approval despite the fact that their schools are not on the list.
All the same fingers crossed. I don't think so, since the evention of Readiness plan, everyone who has received got their schools in the readiness list either before or on the updated list. If your school is on the list and you haven't gotten a reply, it either your application is still within the processing time and some concerns are been examined or you just applied in late Sept or October. just wait for your final decision. I stand to be corrected |

AyoitsMub: Of course there is an option to self sponsor. You have to show financial proof for all the expenses during the total length of your proposed study. In addition, he has to show a valid proof of steady income which might require alot of DATED authentic, verifiable documentations. Think twice before doing it |

I have previously been to Canada and I didn’t overstay. Do you think this can sway the VO into thinking my traveling down isn’t genuine as my family ties to Nigeria is bleak. I am not married and have no kids, I currently do work as an IT systems administrator in a fintech company (past 3 years) and I am going for a diploma in electronics engineering at Northern Alberta Institute of technology (NAIT)... Applied on the 7th of September and still yet to get any feedback from IRCC, Any advise for me would be awesome. Thanks Nice profile, having a valid visit visa which you stuck to the terms and returned when due is an advantage. However, other factors include POF Documentation and WELL PATTERNED AND COMPREHENSIVE SOP, even though they have a valid status still work on ties to home country There's a guide to a good SOP about 3 or 4 pages back. All the best. |

owenizes: hello all, my younger brother has been in Canada for since 2009 and has never visited home. I applied twice 2014 for a student visa and was denied. Though he didn't have his PRV the period i applied. Now he has his PRV, what are my chances? Hello, before the gurus come, from wat I know, having a sibling in Canada ( both PR/Citizen) doesn't in anyway influence your visa outcome. In most cases, having a sibling somehow raises suspicion on your true intent, whether study or immigration. You may get refusal based on time to Canada and maybe compelled to remain in Canada due to its incentives. Having a sibling who's a PR/Citizen only adds points in EE. On your refusals, kindly order for GCMS note to know exactly what you need to tackle, and know that the difficulty level of getting a SP in 2014 and now isn't the same. So double up and present your application well. Lastly, kindly read through this thread to get all the hacks you may need. |

One thing this Study Visa Journey has taught me is PATIENCE
My little advice for TRV hopefuls & Future Applicants
1) I will encourage every applicant to fulfil all righteousness when crafting their Canada study application
Remember "No Two Application is the Same" (there are many factors attached to this statement such as - different academic backgrounds, work experience, Marital Status, the Visa Officers reviewing your application & lots more)
2) Avoid any form of assumption that a Visa Officer won't need this or that, do your due diligence.
3) Show Career/Academic/Logical Progression most especially your Degree/Work Experience should be resonating with the Program you are going for
also,
Show Progression in the qualification of Program you are going for e.g - B.SC grad (2.1) going for a Masters - B.SC grad (2.2) & HND grad going for a PGD/PG. Cert/ Post Baccalaureate Diploma
If you have a 2.1 and you want to go for a PG. Cert, endeavor to show cogent reasons in a convincing manner in your SOP why you are going for a PG. Cert instead of a Masters Degree
4)- Assume yourself as a VISA OFFICER, assess your documents, read ur SOP to urself and point out your errors. - Also regarding ur SOP, avoid any form of Plagiarism to the bearest minimum. - Show Originality when writing your SOP, - Be 100% Patriotic - don't say unpleasant things about Nigeria on your SOP, how you can upgrade your career and also help in the improvement of the Nigerian Economy after studying in Canada is very Paramount, talk about it in your SOP. - Avoid Grammatical Errors in your SOP - Subheadings Will make your SOP readable, don't write your SOP in Composition/Essay Manner - Any thing you mention in your SOP, make sure you have a document that confirms it.
5) Read Success Stories of Applicants that have gotten Approval in the Past, most especially from 2018 till date, you might just see an applicant with your exact kind of profile that got approval which u can learn one ot two things from.
6) Also, if you are on the verge of starting or submitting your application, endeavor to ask questions in the forum on things u are not clear of. There are many things you gonna learn here that an agent don't know about or won't even tell you.
If you are an Applicant going for Masters/PH.D, this thread is a training ground for you to learn how to do research before the real research, so don't feel bad if someone tell you to start reading from Page 1, u gonna gain a lot.
7) Take your time and read this Thread Explicitly. I never had an iota of experience on Canada Study Visa application. Reading this thread in my leisure period for a year helped me tremendously and this made my application strictly DIY (do-it-yourself)
Finally, after Submitting your application, Talk to God to take Control/Charge of your Study Visa Processing, cos in every situation (good or bad) God will still be God.
As we all know the motto of this forum "it will end in Praises (in frankrobbn's Voice)"
I'm wishing all applicants awaiting a decision from IRCC a FAVORABLE ONE
Remain Blessed Honorable Sir's & Ma's!!!! Amen. Thanks bro |

Jesusrules24: PPR just dropped guys!
I am super elated!
Thanks so much to everyone on this platform that has been a source of inspiration and motivation: from those of you who shared your success stories, refusals to those who always answered questions.
I started following this thread last year and because of all the information here, I never needed an agent and was never confused about the whole process.
Below is my timeline. I hope it inspires someone.
First time applicant. Applied: March 29th 2020, online. Biometric request: March 30th AIP: August 6th Biometrics: August 25th (Covid hence the delay in biometrics) Upfront medical: August 25th Medical Request: August 27th
I sent a webform with my upfront medical done a day before the request. (I was going to travel to Abuja for Biometrics and I didn't want to travel twice, hence I did my upfront medical on the day of my biometrics. Lucky me, medical request came the next day)
September, October.... silence.
Then I saw a suggestion here about sending webforms to China and Nairobi.
I sent my webforms November 3rd at 12midnight to Beijing and Nairobi.
3 hours later, I got BVL. November 4th (just now) PPR dropped! I applied alone. I used my husband and kids as hometies.
School: Centennial College. Course: International Business Management (postgraduate) My first degree is English, 2.1 but I run my own business, so in my SOP, I talked a lot about my business and how I chose the course to help me improve my business skills, so I can grow my business when I return.
Document Submitted: 3 page sop Statement of result/certificate Admission letter Police clearance First semester school fees receipt My business CAC documents 2 photos of my business My personal bank statement, business bank statement and hubby's bank statement. (I wrote that we were both going to split the cost of my studies and living expenses)
God indeed answers prayers. Thank God for his mercies. But you also need to get all the right documents.
Avoid lying in your application because their records are forever and your memory might fail. I was denied US visa in the past and I stated it.
I also have an active EE profile.
If you are just starting this Canada journey, read from the beginning of the thread and you would get all the info you need and you can save that agency fee.
I waited 8months to get the approval.
I hope this my long love letter helps someone.
Don't give up on the Canadian dream, even if you have been denied before.
Do it for your generation. Congratulations ❣️ |
