Dr. Reuben Abati, writing in The Guardian on November 25, 2005 on Alamieyeseigha

"Alamieyeseigha has shown himself to be a dishonourable fellow, unfit to rule, unfit to sit among men and women of honour and integrity, unfit to preach to the people that he leads about ideals and values."

Dr Reuben Abati, on Alamieyeseigha's pardon March 16th, 2013

"Nigerians Reaction To Alamieyeseigha's Pardon Is ‘Sophisticated Ignorance."

Goddex: Folks here often look the other way when realities are presented.
Council of state include:

1) All former Heads of State
2) President and Vice-President
3) Ministers
4) Senate President and Speaker House of Reps
5) All governors

All these people cannot be blindfolded by GEJ alone.
For them to have approved this Obviously means, they have
got more information at their disposal that we do not have.
Since you did not look the other way....kindly furnish us with the names of all the people present at the council of state meeting that took this decision

PoliticsRe: State Pardon For VIP Ex-convicts - A Worthy Step Or Not? by najoke: 11:01am On Mar 13, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: Mischievous moderators at work again. How many threads about state pardon will make front page? At the last count, about three threads, have made front page on three consecutive days. How many more do we expect?
Smh!

Personally, I dont like the decision to pardon certain political actors, but those who took the decision have their reasons.

The Council of State consists of the president, vice president, senate president, speaker of the house of reps, all the former president/head of state, past chief justices of the federation, the 36 state governors (including ACN, APGA and CPC governors). If certain persons were not satisfied with the decisions by the Council of State, they could atleast have staged a walk out or did something to register their dis-satisfaction.

But if all of them emerged from the meeting smiling, it is safe to assume they deliberated on all the issues and took the RIGHT decisions.

It smacks of mischief and opportunitics politicking to reduce a body as large as the Council of State to one man- the president.

Anyway, I will not dissipate time and energy discussing intangible issues such as granting of state pardon. For me, the pertinent issues are tangible things that impact on my life and the life of other Nigerians. Things like stable power, infrastructures, job creation, etc

PoliticsRe: Fashola Blames Okada For Damoche’s Murder by najoke: 8:26pm On Mar 02, 2013
Ejiné: I'm going to tell you why I maintain he's an idiiot.

For starters, it was really funny he side-stepped the more pressing issues to focus on the minor.

He foolishly refused to ask himself why LASU is swarming with cultists in the first place.
He failed to ask himself why the school authorities have completely failed to tackle cultism in that school.
This Fashola failed to ask himself nothing was done about the boy in question when almost everyone who knew him knew he was an Airlord.
He refused to tackle the weak security apparatus in that school, and only chose to focus on OKADA?
Instead of asking himself WHY the cultist was even still a part of the school anyway, he was more focused on WHAT his killers were driving when they killed him, or HOW they escaped?

He was more interested in making them see reason with his decision to ban the okada, than about the state of cultism in LASU.

If your wife cheats on you and falls pregnant for another man, would you be asking about why the condom was of such inferior quality or would you be asking yourself why she cheated and why you even ended up with such a person in the first place?
#SMH and walks out the of thread#

PoliticsRe: Fashola Blames Okada For Damoche’s Murder by najoke: 7:20pm On Mar 02, 2013
@Ejine

here is the article.

Commercial motorcycle transportation, popularly known as okada, is once again in the eye of the storm following the brutal murder of singer and student, Damino Damoche, last Thursday in Lagos by gunmen on Okada.
Before Damoche’s murder, okada activities had been restricted inthe state, and now, the state governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, is using the Damoche murder as an opportunity to campaign against Okada riding.
Condemning the gruesome killing of the singer precipitate student, Fashola urged residents to see reason for restriction of commercial Okada operators in the state. He said that the recent murder and previous ones buttressed the state government’s objectives of taming crime through the new road traffic law which restricts the activities of commercial motorcycle popularly called Okada.
“Most dastardly acts are perpetrated with the use of okada so residents have to be security conscious and on their guard all the time. On Thursday, Damino Damoche was shot at the entrance gate of LASU. Those who perpetrated the evil act used Okada.
“Just one month ago, a medical doctor was killed by some armed men who were riding Okada. The doctor would have been of benefit to those in need of medical services. “Some people may be saying that the ban on Okada has rendered them useless.
Is this a suitable business, a business that has led to the death of many who could contribute effectively to the development of the country especially Lagos State?” Lamenting further, he said, “Those who perpetrate these evil acts aren’t spirits.
We (Lagos residents) are the ones offering them shelter when they come to the state.” “Anyone you suspect doesn’t live in your neighbourhood, report such people to the nearest police station, the chairman of their Community Development Area, CDA, and landlords should ensure that they don’t rent their house to criminals.”

Please point me to where fashola made an idiotic statement or said anything that made you say he is idiot.....PLS!!!

I blame Wole Soyinka for Damoche's murder.

And guess what? As crazy as mine sounds, it is actually closer to the truth than Fashola's wink

PoliticsRe: Lagos Was Party To National Good Governance Tour Agreement by najoke: 12:54pm On Mar 01, 2013
take dat: Jerry Gana embarked on something similar to this arrangement, but nothing fruitful came out of it. Frank Nweke Jnr. also did the same with no result! As long as we cannot say the tour is a balanced and qualitative "INDEPENDENT" assessment, so shall Maku's NGGT also come and go! Even if we accept that LASG and ACN governors initially welcomed the arrangement, but if it was later discovered to be a well coordinated campaign tool for the ruling party to promote the interest of their foot soldiers(PDP governors), we shouldn't blame the opposition governors for reneging on an agreement that is not legally binding on them!

taharqa: Come on keep that yr mouth SHUT there. I hate HYPOCRISM. Who told you that Maku is accessing State Govts and not inspecting Federal Govts; majority of d Projects seen are Federal projects. Moreova, dis tour was a joint unanimous decision by d Federal and State Govts (rep by d Govs forum); but sm Govs cos of need to scoring cheap political points are backing out at d middle of d programme they all agreed on. Imagine Fashola that almost ALWAYS engage on Media tour of his projects, and uses a lot of Media propaganda, now saying that 'Govts do not hv to go on tour to show their projects'. Imagine that!... Anyways, d Tour would go on; how wud I hv known of the very many oda tins d FG was doing in Edo State than I presentd on my recent thread here (how wud I hv known that d notorious Esan Waterworks that hv bn a terrible project since b4 independence, has bn virtuali completed).
