Ojukwu has been known to say it will be better that Nigeria learned lessons from the civil war so as not to repeat the same errors again. Ojukwu has been quoted in prominent newspapers and even books that Biafra was always an alternative for the Biafrans if the Nigerians continued the political isolation of Biafrans and made it impossible for them to be equal Nigerians.
