BTW I checked now for criteria for medical tourism and it’s the same thing as what you took to the embassy. So whatever the problem is obviously that’s not it.

Was this in Lagos or Abuja?

Hello everyone. I had my interview recently and I was denied. The VO assumed we didn’t have enough funds to cover the trip as DH transferred the money to my account. ( I used my salary account statement which showed my then salary of 186k. I say then because it is now slightly above 200k.)

1. I transferred the money back to DH’s account as I want to carry his statement in addition to mine this time around. We will also be liquidating our fixed deposit and investment accounts to show we can cover the expenses. Would this put us in a better position?

2. My father in law has also offered to give me his boa statement and his dom acct statement as neither I nor DH have any. Is it wise to take up this offer or will it spoil my chances?

v
As per my own experience last week, I think it’s not just the funds you have in your account presently that matters. Hubby really didn’t have what will cover 50% of bills in his account as at print out but we took along other documents that showed that by end of the month what will enter his account will more than cover. Also took along Cooperative statement and pension statements. So when the boys asked for statement of account we handed over everything. He only looked at payslips and the other documents, but flipped through 3 pages of bank statement.

Maybe it also helped that we were in Europe twice last year I don’t know.

I also declared am going there to have a baby and he only asked for doctor’s correspondence.

My family and I went to the embassy on Friday. After waiting for a long time with my dd throwing a massive tantrum, we were lead to the VO.

VO: Good Afternoon
Dh and I: Good Afternoon.
VO: Please pass your passport.
After flipping through the 4 passport we passed, he asked; I can see you are going to Texas
Dh: Yes, to Houston.
VO: What are you going to do there?
Dh: my wife to have a baby and the rest of us for vacation.
VO: How are you all related?
Dh: This is my wife and my dd.
VO: I can see you have travel a bit, which countries have you been to?
Dh: This year, Uk....
I interjected to correct him its last year 2017.
Dh continued, Last year Uk, paris, Amsterdam and ....
VO: that's ok. How long have you worked for your company?
Dh: About ten years.. sorry about 9.
VO: do you know anyone in Houston?
Dh: yes, my brother in law.
VO: ok.
he continued typing. can i have your Doctor's correspondence
I passed it along.
he flipped through it
VO: Can i have your statement of accounts?
This is where i was a bit afraid because we had limited funds in my Dh account. So we passed along his statement from office stating his salary increase, his payslips of 1 year, pension statement, cooperative statement and his statement of account. The Vo flipped through each document, paid particular attention to payslips and only went through 3 random pages of the statemet of accounts.
he passed all the documents back to us.
VO: you will have to pick up your passports at DHL and he passed the white paper to us.
DH and I: Thanks. Have a good day.
VO: you too.

That was all that was passed. I was so happy.

Thanks NL fam for all the tips and information. We were over prepared.

On to looking for flights for next months

Sorry for all typos and mistakes grin

Kindly help me pls. I am a ftm, I was here few months ago but my husband changed his mind that I must give birth outside the country New York precisely. I have not started processing anything including visa and I will be due in March, 2018.I hope it's not too late to start now on my own, kindly advice me where to start from. Please ignore all my errors as right now, I am confused.
If you go through this thread very well you can do it yourself. By the way you need to apply ASAP. Your Edd is very close.
Important info is the type of visa, contact address and where you will stay. You can put your bof together before the interview.

Hello I have been stalking this page for years now. Please I need advice, am currently about 21 weeks pregnant and I want to have my baby in USA. I intend to travel with my mum and my 2 year. My husband will be sponsoring the trip. My question is should we all apply together or should we apply as a family first and have my mom apply later. What’s our chances if we all apply together. Thanks
