How my wife died – IBB

Former President Ibrahim Babangida on Sunday narrated how his wife, Maryam, died in a United States of America hospital.

Babangida, popularly called IBB by many, said that he was at her bedside at the University of California Los Angele‘s Jonson Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Los Angeles, United States, where he said she died at the age of 61.

“She died beside her husband, General Babangida who has been at her bedside in the US hospital till her death. Mrs. Babangida‘s condition worsened months ago
How he must have held a cheque of a billion dollars of stolen money thinking it could pay (or even bribe) for her life. Thieve(IBB), na you go follow soon.

OH PLEASE!!! Those of us who sat on the sidelines while the politicians plowed and pillaged are just as guilty and as heartless as they are. I am sorry, there is no justification for that whatsoever.

And I am with the crowd that says it is time we wake up, start by RIDICULING THESE POLITICIANS BOTH IN LIFE AND IN DEATH! Stand for the truth all the time. No need to SUDDENLY START making up LIES because the woman is dead. She sat by and enjoyed the loot her husband stole while millions of lives that dependend on it went to waste.
Kobojunkie,

Perfectly said. I have always mentioned this line in my local discussions. The moment we start ignoring these thieves in Nigeria and call them names (and not worship them) and refer to the children as children of thieves, then they may start realising that the looting might not just be worth it.

Princek12:
At least if Maryam is publicly criticized and ridiculed after her death, the likes of Ibrahim Babangida, Baba Iyabo and Co, and the other thieves will have a feel of what people will say about them when they die!
That's if they have ears to listen to the real poeple.

Sagamite:
My friend, don't be silly. Not everybody lacks moral compass like you.

I have enough confidence in my brain, ability and competence to achieve honestly the financial prowess I would be content with (which is not billions, greed).

I don't have the average Nigerian mentality you have. I have a German efficiency and high quality mentality.

So speak for yourself when you are talking about being in power. I will be the best Nigeria ever had if that happened.

At least I know now why you refuse to judge.
Saga, I feel your swaga.

Angeleyz, you just nailed it. What you sow, you must surely reap. At least husband might realise now that there is something more powerfull than him. So it will be for all the blood suckers in Nigeria, one after the other they will all go to where they deserve to be.

This is beginning to appear as a smoke screen, please I am not invoking more conspiracy theories, however something is not just clear here.

@lagosboy

You are starting to sound like a typical violent muslim . . .

- why are you bothering about the analysis of how he prepared the bomb. . .

- I do not care how he prepared the bomb . . .

- Stop trying to derail the thread with useless and idiotic analysis of what you think might have happened. . .

- WHAT DOES IT MATTER HOW IT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE . . .

- WHAT DOES IT MATTER WHETHER HE PREPARED IT IN THE TOILET OR THE KITCHEN OR THE LIVINGROOM. . .

THE BOTTOMLINE IS THAT IT IS REPORTED THAT HE HAS CONFESSED TO BEING A TERRORIST . . .

Stop making silly excuses that sound like you are trying to explain how the chicken crossed the road . . . we do not care and do not want to know . . . The bottom line is that people could have lost their lives and their loved ones merely based on the action of this Real Muslim (that was doing exactly as Allah instructed) . . .

I was initially starting to think that you would for the first time actually choose to completely condemn what happened without trying to explain it away . . . yet it seems you are hell bent on explaining away the unexplainable. . . guess a leopard can't really change its spots hence why you seem to be hell bent on going on with your should have could have nonsense and useless supposed analysis of what might have happened.

Infact i am starting to suspect that you are not happy that he did not succeed . . . you are starting to sound as if you wish he had succeeded.

This your mentality and attempt at obsfucation of the facts is that reason why i said: Yoruba muslims are starting to become as dangerous as the northern muslims . . .cus the utterances that come out of your mouths sometimes on nairaland sometimes makes it difficult to differentiate the intent. .
Guy I guess you understand how these people reason. Before I left Naija, I worked in one of the banks in Nigeria and I tell you something that shocked me beyond believe. I was just newly employed and my Head of Operation, a Yoruba Muslim, ICAN qualified with an MBA. By every ramification a very well educated guy and was doing very well with the bank (I think he was a Dpty Mgr then). This guy i refer to jumped up in celebration as the news of 911 was announced before he realised he was in a banking environment, but by then the harm had been done. Obviously all of us took our distance from the guy and after about a month he asked to be re-deplyed to another branch. I can mention his name if need be. These guys are plain bastards and I still don't understand why I am the same country with them and we keep pretending to be brothers. ONE NATION my foot - break up you silly thing called Nigeria!!!

Nigeria is in big trouble. take a look at these
@Exlogx, you should not dispair. Those statistics does not stand up at all. First of all what is the source of the information, who were the people sampled for this statistics assuming it from a valid source. You know quite well that this cannot represent a Nigerian view, so just discard it as meaningless. However, issues dey as a result of this. Obviously not in terms of total annihilation of the Nigerian population, but I just pity Nigerians that travel. We complain of humiliation due to our fraud, drug, corrupt linked image, now with terrorism added to it, I can only imagine. Just be prepared to be stripped bare with things inserted into every part of your body all in the name of ensuring that you are not another Mutallab (sorry, I don't intend to brand the name as terrorist). Anyway we keeping watching to see how things unfold.

Where are all the conspiracy theorists (Rossike, Cyberfreak, Lagosboy and the rest)? You guys should get your theories more widely publicised than just within NL. After 9/11, we heard all sorts that never stood the test of time. Why would anyone believe that George Bush and some fellow republicans are above the rule of law and could perpetrate such havoc to the tune of 9/11 and still walk free today.

As much as we should not accept what ever the west throws at us, I do not believe that there warrant any situation where taking of lives is in line with western values. As selfish as they may be, they still respect the lives of at least their fellow citizens. So how could they plot to blow up a plane with some silly Nigerian boy in order to secure crude oil supplies from Nigeria. There are better ways of doing that. Anyway, now it has happened, let us wait and see how US is going to invade Nigeria and possibly take all the crude without even paying for them. As much as our crude oil is about the best quality, it is still of marginal quantity compared to reserves in Middle East. So I don’t understand why US will need to invade Nigeria for crude oil supplies – it does not make any sense at all.

Let Nigerians stay in Nigeria.
One spastic bomber cannot taint 150 million population.
I believe every Nigerian would prefer to be in Nigeria, but please what should we come back to be doing. To count up the numbers and seat watching the politicians and others at the corridors of power steal the money. Even if we all come back, we still cannot exist in isolation. As much as this incidence does not mean that we are doomed as a people, the fact is that most of us have been able to keep our heads up and walk tall, because at the end of all the atrocities we are associated with as a people, Terrorism was completely out of it till now. We probably have not fully appreciated the extent of this situation. May God help us.

Fire Cracker my foot!!! It does not make it any less harmfull in a highly pressurised container as in a flying airplane. Try a simple knock-out inside your room and see if Albert Einstein was crazy with his formula E=mc2. The only reason there might be survivors, had the fool succeeded would have been because the plane was not above the seas.

ROSSIKE:
Sweet T said:

Oh shut it. You know NOTHING about this case except what white folks have shown you on their television.

By the way, the London house this ''terrorist'' guy lived in was ''owned by a US company''.

I wonder if that ''US company'' has ties to the CIA.

Some of you Nigerians need to start getting THOUGHTFUL.

Anytime you see an incident like this on the news, ask yourself ''who benefits from me believing this version of events?''

The real truth could involve a conspiracy between the CIA and a few of their stooges in Nigerian corridors of power, to create this situation, in order for them to profit through perhaps an invasion, or greater US military presence and adventurism in the Gulf of Guinea, a move that would have been questioned by the public, had this likely ENGINEERED ''attempted terrorist act'' not occurred.

THINK, THINK, THINK.
@Rossike, much as I hate to say this, but I think you are a BIG goat. A very BIG nkpi (i.e. a smelly male goat).

I only blame Britain for making me part of this rubbish publicity. How can someone explain to me why I am one nation with muslims, people with a completely different ideology and mind-set to life. How on earth if not mare wickedness, was the east merged to the north to form this silly thing called Nigeria. How can we just get ourselves out of this. Some of us are here talking about how we as Nigerians cannot kill in the name of anything as we too like life. While this could be said to be true for most Southerns, can it be said of any northerner (idiots). Foul, crazy, sick, shallow minded idiots that use religion for wrecking havoc on fellow human being. At times I wonder what this world will be like if we should all be governed by Muslim/sharia ideologies. Morons, Bastards!!!

Guys, Please has there been any statement issued by any government rep on this matter. To be honest, I dont think we can deal with this issue and many of us here are failing to appreciate the magnitude of this incidence, just like many did not appreciate the effect of the economic crisis till the nation almost got crippled by its effect.

I am extremely concerned about where this will land us. I still want to wake up and someone to tell me that the whole thing was just a big joke. Wetin concern naija with fighting for Al-Queda abi Mohammed! What sort of nonsense is this. Dora, you have to deal with this o!!!
