But because it's nigerians it is barbaric, that's all i can read on your sanctimonious and self righteous comments. Man! Get off your moral high horse and see things from the hungry folk point of view, just because your life is comfortable doesn't mean other is. It's funny how folk like you claim to care for animals but wouldn't mind eating chicken, fish point and kill, suya, and goat meat, isi ewu, pepper soup , or kill moquitoes, rats, scorpions, ants. one wonders. Baroba: Game hunting in UK has time and season, and the hunting is limited to small game animals such as rabbits and birds like pheasants and quails that are in abundance.. I dont see people hunting badgers, even fox hunting ( a well known elite sport) has been banned.. We have no culture of preservation in Nigeria, is always kill kill kill, a whale beaches, its butchered, a dolphin misses its way, its butchered, Pangolins ( a nocturnal animal that is protected by WWF, are sold in Epe market like candies). Harmless pythons are slaughtered.. Where do we stop? must we kill everything that breathes.. Some of the European hunters travel to the safari to hunt ( am not in support) but the actually pay good money which keeps the safari going and in some cases only kill old animals that are no longer productive or competing with younger animals for food.. I bet you most Nigerians here have never seen a hippo, a dolphin or a manatee, these three animals have been butchered in the last 10 months in Nigeria. We can do better as a people that's all am saying.. Your point is very clearMy argument is that the people who killed the hippotamus killed it for food. If there is a law against killing hippotamus in Kebbi State then they have committed an offence. Note that the animal was killed for food ( not illegal) unlike the attached pictures of animals killed for entertainment

Nairaland General › Re: Hippopotamus Caught In Kebbi Waters, Butchered (Photos) by napoleon77(m): 3:19pm On Feb 25, 2017 |
ephi123: Game hunting is not the same as killing a hippopotamus. Plus you can be jailed if you do so illegally. https://www.gov.uk/hunting/overview
Secondly, hippos are not seen regularly.
Thirdly, the same UK you are referring to has structures in place to protect various species. So explain to me what game hunting is? Picture below is of Prince Harry after killing a buffalo. So its right for animals to be killed by people from the Western World for fun but wrong if Nigerians kill animals for food?
an average black man thinks only of food. less than two days from now all will be forgotten. No history and nothing educating for our children.
Kill and share mentality has eaten deep into us.
we share everything. contract money, electoral money, development levy, name it.
Game hunting is very popular here in the UK especially amongst the aristocrats so your assertion is clearly wrong and even racist.
What history is needed from seeing an animal? Especially if the animal is seen regularly? White people kill animals for fun and they call it game hunting, they even travel to Africa to kill lions etc but you are making a comment about "kill and share mentality"
At least the animal was killed for food, in the Western world they kill animals for fun and call it game hunting. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: This Is An Indian Company You Shouldn't Work For In Nigeria Because Of Racism by napoleon77(m): 1:10pm On Feb 25, 2017 |
sbabs1: People have been saying Indian and Lebanese companies are never a great place to work and over time I had rebuked such argument because I assumed averagely some workers just want a quick fixes as far as work is concerned. Last Monday Feb 20th, I checked into one of our Branches in Adeola Odeku in Victoria Island Lagos, on my way back and I saw this gathering of young people in a protest mood just in front one of one of the tallest buildings on that street. They all held placards with the inscriptions such as, Say no to Racism, We are Tire of this Discrimination, We want Union, #HRMustGo. As a lover of the HR Profession, the latter attracted me and to satisfy my curiosity I moved closer to them to ask few questions and from my 30 Minutes interaction with them, I gathered the following about MitsubishiLift Nigeria Limited - the company. 1. MitsubishiLift Nigeria is a Lebanese company where Nigerians don’t go on annual leave or you go and never retirn. 2. Unionism is a total ban and the consequence is termination. 3. Bonds are signed that even at your spare time you cannot do any other work . 4. MitsubishiLift Nigeria claims that Nigerian Laws supports most of their short comings, hence they don’t care. 5. MitsubishiLift Nigeria Limited, don’t pay or remit tax to government despite being deducted from staff salary. They have their way with #LIRS. 6. In MitsubishiLift Nigeria Limited, You can’t go outside the office to eat. Meaning no break time. 7. No medical care provision for staff not even HMO as stated in the NHIS laws. 8. Nigerians are the mouth piece of most unprofessional practices in multinational Companies including Mitsubishi Lift one Man name Chris has sold Nigerians in Nigeria. 9. Racial discrimination is not about majority, it can also be about few powerful privilege ones who has seen the loopholes and again the negligence on the part of government is a major advantage to Multinational, hence they make use of that lapses to enslave people. This is for real in Mitsubishi Lift Nigeria Limited as the management calls the staff Junior gorillas, Monkeys etc. 10. At Mitsubishi, on a monthly basis your salary is deducted without proper explanation. Dear Nairalanders I take responsibility for this post because i experienced this protest live and below pictures says it all. However, having identified the above, I think there should be some solutions if you work in an environment, where similar culture is in practice. One of the solution is to protest and write to Nigerian Labour Congress or any area branch Trade unions just like this people did last week in Lagos. I think another issue is to shout it out loud on social media so that people know the kind of companies they shouldn’t go to be interviewed when they recruiting. Aside, other organisation shouldn't even patronize the service of vendors who cant treat people well.
In conclusion, You may want to share your opinion if you work or once worked in similar company. Or you have insights on how to solve any of the unprofessional labour practice and let Nairalanders gain insights. Please share your thoughts below. Cheers (Racism: This Is An Indian Company You Must Not Work For In Nigeria)Is the company an Indian or Lebanese company? |

sosy25: I seem to be hearing this name Remo Omokri everyday. I learnt he was part of the Jonathan administration, how come he seems to make so much noise now?
I have not heard him criticize the large scale stealing that took place under the Jonathan administration.
I did not see any tweet when the Andrew Yakubu $9.8 million and £74,000 was liberated.
I am waiting for the day that Nigerians would be objective. Has a court found any member of the last govt guilty of large scale stealing? Or is the last govt still in charge of the courts? I guess the Chief of Army Staffs vast estate in Dubai was acquired from his salary and the SGFs scary grass cutting contract is justified. If Nigerians should be objective then call a spade a spade. There has been allegations of corruption in the present and past govts. But no convictions. And for the records, Reno has always been talking. Nothing wrong in criticising govt, or are people not free to criticise govt again? |

A subsidiary of NNPC just concluded underground recruitment and do you think this question in this context would mean what you said....when they didnt publish the vacancy. Your can't use the exception as the rule. The main reason why the question is asked is to be sure which of their recruitment channels is providing the best value. And YES Nigerian recruiters actually want to know which of their channels provides the best value. rychard: 101% wrong...
HR professionals go through hell trying to recruit the right fit for their company, now, they go through various means to find the fit, the idea is to use the most effective method to reach the best candidate. At the end of the process, they spool the number of people that got the job or where the right fit or shortlisted and the method they got through..
This informs them and help them concentrate on these channels in subsequent recruitmemt. I strongly agree with you. Note that internal referrals is also a recruitment channel |

So because a man has 2 MSc degrees he cant be an MC even if he likes the job and maybe he even makes good money from it.
It takes lots of time and money to gain 2 MSc degrees. It clearly means he had both!!
The fact that someone chooses to have 2 MSc degrees does not mean that the society must give him a big job. |

Lee was 87 when his party PAP had their worst loss in parliamentary elections. Until then, he was the Minister-mentor. After the loss, he stepped down for the younger generation to continue. This is a man who is credited with lifting Singapore from Third World to First World status in a generation. The same Singapore Mugabe goes to treat cough was a described as a squalid land. Today Singapore is described by The World Bank as the best place to start a business, by The Economist as the second safest city, by Transparency International as the 7th least country and lots more.
Honestly, tell me what a 93 old man offer in this century?
.....and yes, it sucks to be a black man. When I see a developed black nation, then I will eat my vomit. Nigeria for example cannot provide her citizens with constant power supply after 56 years of independence, yet Singapore had hers (against her will) in 1965. S.Korea had a lower GDP per capita than us during the '60s.
If you like the status-quo, your prerogative. Let's not deviate. This is not a comparison between the 1st and 3rd world. If you have evidence that it had been confirmed that Zimbabwean elections were not free and fair then that is a separate issue and it will be nice to show evidence. Even Hillary asked for a recount in the US election (elections are hardly free and fair anywhere, depending on where you stand) Do not misinterpret my stand!
