safarigirl:
I'm writing this article strictly out of necessity. Not only is this based on the experiences of others, but also on personal experience

I want to start by posting a known fact. It's not by force to have a child, neither is it necessary to send your child to a higher institution, ESPECIALLY a girl child

See ehn, make una forget anything, the truth and the koko of the matter, forgetting all these yeye posts on NL is that most girls go into the University WITH ONLY their PARENTS as their source of finances. There is no money bag somewhere that provides money for us. Na only us waka come

There is a popular saying that when you're in 100 level, money comes in steady, as you progress it becomes less frequent and reduces in amount, by the time you're in your final year, if you even see 1k alert from your family, na to shoki reach ATM.

Many students especially those in government institutions can testify to this fact.....but I digress. It has come to my knowledge that most parents do not pay as much attention to their daughters in higher institution as they do their sons, because the female child is perceived as the 'understanding' one, who is supposed to 'persevere' because she's a 'nurturer'....that is by far the biggest load of BS ever peddled by the male folk (yes, na boys cause am angry)

All those bad belle brothers wey dey like shorten their sisters' monthly allowance on top tales of one (imaginary) boyfriend that is sending her regular money, just know that your village people have already pounded the yam that they'll use and lick soup ontop your head angry.

If not for the fear of God that some girls have, obatala knows that the amount of runs girls that would've been in this country for don reach to rival the entire Cape Verde's population. Not every girl has a business she's doing in school and we all can't combine business with schooling. Why then should parents transfer their burden to one small boy that made the error of toasting their daughter? Boy wey still dey collect money from house go come dey feed your daughter for school on your behalf, unto wetin?

Even if there is a boyfriend, is it his job to provide food, clothes and hair product from your daughter? If he provides all of that, what is her consideration in such a contract? And by consideration, I mean, her sacrifice. You want your daughter to leave school and immediately marry, but you allow her look unkempt while in school and starve thinking she has a guy that does it all, like say the guy follow una conceive.

Please, if you have a daughter in school, do well as a parent to see to her needs, even the petty ones, don't wait for memos from your child before you know your job. The tertiary instituion is hard enough, but peer pressure is a b*tch and not every child is understanding and persevering. Shame on a child is shame on his/her parents too, so nothing like 'shebi na she get herself?'...na una get her

I'm sorry I wasn't able to pass across my message in what some may term a 'civil' manner, but some things gats come in pidgin for the message to make sense smiley.

I'm not hitting at parents who try their best, I'm hitting at those who don't try at all and expect 'understanding'. Thanks for reading

PoliticsFg's Annual Budget Is N20tn, Not N4.3tn-reps by Napoleone(op): 6:06am On Mar 02, 2015
The House of Representatives said on Sunday that the Federal Government’s yearly expenditure was “over N20tn,” contrary to the N4.6tn (2014) or N4.3tn (2015) disclosed to Nigerians as the country’s annual public budget.

Its Public Accounts Committee, which made the disclosure in Abuja, noted that, an ongoing examination of the finances of government and its 601 agencies showed that the N4.3tn given as the total spending budget for this year was a “far cry” from the reality.

The Chairman of the committee, Mr. Adeola Solomon-Olamilekan, who spoke on the issue, explained that, unknown to Nigerians, the N4.3tn, for example, did not include the expenditure of many “statutory and extra-ministerial departments” of government.

He added that his committee found out that these other agencies not captured in the regular budget, generated and spent their money as it pleased them without seeking the approval of the National Assembly.

The lawmaker put the budget of these other bodies at over N16tn.

Solomon-Olamilekan explained further, “The N4.9tn, N4.6tn or N4.3tn, as the case may be, is the budget that the whole Nigerians are listening to but in the true sense of it, the budget of other statutory and extra-ministerial departments put together is about N16tn.

“So, the total overall budget year in year out is over N20tn, which the executive arm operates, but nobody is asking questions as to the implementation of all these budgets.

“Nobody is bringing information on the implementation of all these budgets; and this is one area Nigerians need to start asking questions in order to move this country forward.”

Solomon-Olamilekan stated that though the Fiscal Responsibility Act, 2007, made adequate provisions on how these bodies should be held accountable, the law was observed in breach.

He cited the “stifling” of the Office of the Auditor-General of the Federation as one of the ways to shield government agencies from opening their books to scrutiny.

Solomon-Olamilekan said this was done by starving the office of funds “over the years” to a point where it no longer had the financial power to effectively audit the accounts of the implementation agencies of government and its extra-ministerial departments.

For instance, he revealed how the government cut the capital budget of the AGF’ office from N1.9bn to a “meagre” N100m in 2015.

The lawmaker said his committee was at a loss on how the AGF’s office would audit the accounts of 601 agencies with N100m and the country’s 144 foreign missions.

The PAC chairman added, “How can we imagine that the capital budget of the office of AGF for the year 2015 was reduced from N1.9bn to N100?

“Can you also imagine an office of the AGF that has 144 foreign missions to audit and as we speak, between 1999 to date, that office has not audited up to 30 of these foreign missions while three quarter of these foreign missions are also revenue generating agencies?

“So, there is nobody to audit the revenue generated and the expenditure they incur.

“The office of the AGF has been short-changed and the budget has been reduced to nothing. As such, the government of the day is having a field day to carry out whatever its wants to do because they know they have an office that is not functioning.”

The PAC has also been saddled with the responsibility of retrieving the full report on the audit investigation into the $20bn reportedly ‘missing’ from the accounts of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation from the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

The House had, in plenary on Wednesday last week, given the minister seven days to submit the full report to the lawmakers.

RomanceI Fell For Her Trick!!! by Napoleone(op):
I came back from school and the first thing I did was to land in my mummy's shop. I saw this pretty and charming girl attending to customers and I greeted her cool. She responded and I later introduced myself wink. Some minutes later, I just discovered that she was staring at me and anytime I look at her side, she looked away. She later told me she wants to invite me to her birthday and I told her we shall see.
The following day, she told me she wanted to tell me something and I asked her to proceed. She then told me about the way her boyfriend who lives in another state asked her to come and meet him so they could have sex or it would be over between them. She asked me what I think she should do because she's confused. I just told her she's in the best position to make up her mind, but something I know is that no matter how much a guy loves a lady, once pre-marital sex comes into play it deteriorates and I don't do girlfriends because hardly can people in relationships do without sex. That same day, she collected my number innocently.
Mehn! I just noticed that she was calling me morning, afternoon and night shocked. Chei! I don enter am undecided. I began to get suspicious. It got to a stage she told me someone told her she loves me and she wants me to be close to the person. O boy, me told her everybody is my friend chap chap. Before I knew what was happening, she added me on facebook and asked if I won't get angry if she told me something and I said no. She said, on her way home that day, a guy stopped her but she didn't answer and the guy actually followed her home( In my mind, I asked myself "how does that prevent GEJ from returning to Otuoke?" )
OMG! I just discovered that she started dressing provocatively wink. She told me to close my eyes because she has a surprise for me...Haaa! me no answer o!! She has been staring at me since then. Omo na to stay off mummy's shop o. The question that has been ringing in my mind is this; is this the new way some girls now give greenlight? huh
