Nihilstjnr: My observations:
1. to me Callum Hudson odoi experiment is done. Send him out on loan. if you maybe want to risk stalling his career, keep him around as 3rd choice, but that guy ain't ready for the massive task we have ahead.
2. it's too late to get rid with only few days to end of the wibsow, but next summer we must cut our losses and get rid of the ambassador of the sunken place to our club. Send Pedro with him back to the dimension from whence they came and then burn down the sunken place embassy building. We need no more envoys from that side.
3. Better go and sign Butland tommorow. Stoke chopped 3 from Leeds today, and that boy won't want that group of imbeciles to ruin his career from him. Send Caballero down the same black hole as those other Spanish speaking muthafuckas and promote Jamal Blackman to 2nd Choice keeper(if he's not already on loan)
4. we can't play Luiz and Rudiger in a back 4. Both are prone to lapses in concentration. Either keep Azpi there as a Sammer style shortback, or do some intensive work of Christensen.
5. Moses has now been ejected from the only position where he could hide on the pitch. Black hole please.
6. Go and wake Palace chairman early momo tommorow and slap his face with a check for 60-70m. Leave with Wilfried Zaha in a nylon bag
7. Emerson and Zappacosta might be the way inn a back 4. Even though they're not the best defenders, their speed will give them a decent chance at getting into position for a recovery. Dribble Alonso, and you're gone no problem. it's not until we see the Dusan Tadics of this world dribbling Alonso to the ground from a standing position like Ivanovic before we know there's a problem.
Oh he speaks Spanish too? Seems like someone put a Harrods facade over a Spanish Kantangwa and gave Marina a year's worth of store credit.
I still feel he has a future up front sha.
8. We need Kante back. nuff said.
9. We need hazard back. nuff said.
10. This was just a meaningless friendly like Audi cup or ICC. I don't care about losing today. No points were collected, so no fücks will be given in exchange. A lot of sense. I don't agree with the Odoi point though. He's 17. No one is expecting him to be ready. The other point I want to add to yours is this. From what I saw today, Jorginho's defensive game is similar to Fabregas', jogging back casually, with no sense of hurry and not preempting danger. I haven't watched a lot of Jorginho, so I have no opinion of him. If this is not a fitness problem but rather his lack of defensive urgency, then it will be dangerous playing him as the deepest player in a 4-3-3. This is Mikel all over again. This might mean that Sarri needs to start considering a 4-2-3-1 very quickly, so that Kante can sit deep alongside Jorginho, or we could be going into the season with serious defensive issues; especially if he is thinking about pairing Luiz and Rudiger behind Jorginho. |

Roland17: Is there a better situation that aptly describes awon Shepke? Well, I feel nothing should be made out of what is just a friendly game from Chelsea's point of view. We have Hazard, Kante and possibly another signing to come in. Plus most of the players are still struggling for fitness. So I don't think anyone should lose sleep over this. I do agree that some of our colleagues should take the "Sarri-Ball" thing with caution and see what happens. I am not convinced still that we have the midfield for his style of football but we'll see what happens. I still believe we should have kept Conte and signed better players but we move forward and see what Sarri has to offer after 6 to 8 games into the season. |

FBS: ^^ I want to believe Rohr is just experimenting though question is why at this stage? Either that or he appears not to know what he is doing at all. Iwobi playing deep? Mikel upfront? Victor Moses taking free kicks and set pieces, someone who could barely cross to save his life. Maybe 1 good cross whole season? No wing play, Ighalo totally lost. Brian Idowu?? Goodness! don't get me started! No formation, direction or purpose. Doesn't even look like a training session. I wasted 2 hours watching those id.iot.s yesterday instead of sleeping.
Anyways, maybe we will perform well when the stakes are higher and with a fine jersey. I thought we had a lot of possession play and penetration was good many times. We could be a lot more cohesive at this point and sharper in attack but it is what it is if we have to play Mikel and Moses. Perhaps a better idea would be Musa, Iheancho and Ighalo in a front 3. I see the tactical benefit to Iwobi deep and Mikel further forward. Iwobi's recovery play is much swifter than Mikel's, during defense. And Iwobi showed that a few times. Again, this is to the detriment of the attack but hey. I think it depends on individual's pre-assessment of how good we are in the first place. A lot of people are thinking "this is our year" and expectations are through the roof. Perhaps it good to enter the competition being humble. |

raumdeuter: Name any manager who has 5 Africans not naturalized in their lineup as a start
In the entire Alex Ferguson career, how many non naturalized Africans did he buy? Not played together buy in total Just like Nihilist opined earlier, I believe this point should end this discussion. I wonder why the number 5 though. Why not 6 or 7? |
