diggz: Well shyttee happens....but Barkley really impressed me. The attack looks promising with him around however they should have gotten a goal or 2 but it is what it is....
The defence was majorly our undoing....they single-handedly dashed Bournemouth the game.
I don't know if it's just me who thinks caballero should be starting our games.....we didn't concede much with him keeping. No it's not just you. I asked in our last game if it was just me seeing Caballero making some crucial saves. I have the same view. |

The whole club is now in a sunken place.
Arsenal sign Auba and Mhkitaryan in January, tie Ozil down to a long-term improved contract. We send our second most prolific player out on loan, sign a 30-yr-old Arsenal reject for £18m and another player from half-way round the world, who's been injured for more than he himself can remember. |

Surely, we need decent additions in the attacking third. Complete mystery to me. Unless thee is something the football world knows about him that is not apparent to us. |

A few posts back, I was saying why we should be careful with all this Conte out gist. The Chelsea Manager job is no longer lucrative.
We are now being linked heavily with the Crouches and Carrolls of the PL. Even by our Januiary stop-gap standards over the years, this is a new low. |

airmark: Diplomacy is important while handling issues regarding the staffs you manage in any organisation, when required. The way he answered that question could be done in a better way. Players who are key to your success are not to be pampered, but at the same time, not to be painted as inconsequential. Unhappy players would send him back to italy. Soft work.
“This is not important. I’m the coach, I decide. It’s not important if one player is happy or not''.
That's like saying it's not important if your staffs are happy or not, yet you want the best from them. It's either conte has made up his mind to leave chelsea anytime and he cares no more or he's just ignorant. We know the cheque book coaches qualified to do this and put their hands in the till and won't be looking for injured players to upgrade their teams.
Why was conte defending morata amidst criticisms? Is it not to make him happy by encouraging him and building his confidence? I expect him to criticise him openly so that we will know his job is not to make players happy. I am sure Conte understands the A-Z of diplomacy. Sometimes, too much diplomacy is just as harmful as the lack of it. As you quite rightly pointed out in your post that follows, Conte managed the Costa situation very well and has done so with Luiz and Morata so far. There must be a reason he has done this to Hazard. This is why I said "sometimes, at the right time". I agree with him 100%. Considering the cicumstances surrounding Hazard and all the Real Madrid antics, I would not have wanted him deflecting in the face of that question, all in the name of diplomacy. |

airmark: He is a crazy coach, i'm not sure he is that good in man-management. It depends on what you believe man-management is. I think it is important sometimes, at the right time, to take a hard line on all players, including Hazard and make them know that it's his way or the highway. No one is buying Hazard for now, so he needs to keep his mind on his career and become something first. |

pamcode: Guys is it possible for a Player to be Left handed and still have his preferred foot to be right? cc Nihilist,Airmark,Ibime and any one else. I have a few examples. I know this guy who is naturally left-handed and left-footed, he broke his left hand nastily and couldn't write with it for 6 months. He started using his right hand and got used to it ever since. Although, he can still write with his left. I have a friend who is left-handed but right-footed when playing football. My little daughter is left-handed but kicks with her right when I throw her a football. Yes. It is posible. |
