In the midst of the tirade of abuse, no one is categorically and unequivocally stating he "WILL NOT" come good. Watch Airmark's posts and he's gone from "Morata is a striker that I advised not to be bought" to "Conte should light fire in his eyes" So if Morata flops, then we know what's coming. If Morata is a hit though, then we'll get the "this is what we always wanted from him". Then there's the win win situation. |

Nihilist: https://www.nairaland.com/search/jackbauersballs%20torres/0/0/0/3
I've noticed that over the past few years, you've gone from holding your own positions to agreeing with Ibime on everything, after been severely brow beaten for the better part of a decade.
I've actually posted the Jackbauersballs search history for Torres for your reading, if you choose to do so. You will find that my earliest post on this board regarding Torres(in 2012) is actually slagging him off. In fact Coogar of blessed memory calls me one of the 'Anti-Torres' crew.
What that buffoon has done is posted screenshots of a seperate conversation I was having in 2013 where I'm comparing Torres to Ba who them Ibime and Co were demanding must play, and pointing out that Ba would never improve on Torres numbers due to systemic failures - I think the 2 league goals in 10 league starts he scored that season eventually justified that argument.
The key thing that Felicia was talking about when he started this rumour, was that I was supporting Torres over Lukaku. However, aside any posts discussing Ba and Torres together(where I am even recorded calling Torres a flop), there is no single post of mine you can find regarding Torres where I am not slagging him off.
Not a single one.
Do your Research before you join sides with Felicia yet again. I am sure you will agree that I am right, eh papi? Hehehe. Agreeing with Ibime on everything. Don't be ridiculous mate. You got this all wrong. I have not joined Felicia and whatever gang you cite. Neither do I agree with Felicia on everything. To start with, I didn't disagree with Ibime all the time in the past (what you call "stood your ground" .). On very many occasions, I agreed with his POV. I stated them when I could. What I did then, was not hesitate to jump in, once I saw something I disagreed with. The argument on here dey learn.... Ibime and I argued, post after post, for 48 hours, and very constantly, calling each other names that never existed. You had to be downright nasty and vile to keep up with Felicia. I must have given like 1 year of my life to that niggah. All said, what you see now, is me still stating, the few times when I agree with Felicia but none of when I disagree. And that is by intention. This is not to be confused with agreeing all the time. What you see is that I have grown up, curbed the urge to argue online about everything I don't agree with; and most importantly, consciously preserve a decent online image because my job in real life requires me to be exemplary. Above all, I intend to be a good father to my two lovely kids and posturing an e-gangster personality (which is what is required to stand against Felicia), is completely contradictory to the image I desire my kids to see of me. So....No, Nateevs is not abandoning post and moving to the other side (whatever that means). It is by design. And I am just as opinionated. I just now have the power to know when and when not to respond. However, if after all, you still understand this as me as agreeing with Felicia all the time, then it is what it is Papi! |

The guys are trying to say that there may be some sort of confusion on your part, with the terms HomeGrown/Association Trained players and English players. And they are right. Because technically, we do not need English players for any reason other than the HG/AT quota. Except according to the ruling, you don't have to be English to be HG/AT. You just need to have either been with your parent club for 3 straight seasons, before your 21st birthday to be HG; or have played for 3 straight seasons in the English league before your 21st birthday, to be AT. |

Bimffo: Morata played how many minutes with a man down?
Apart from the goal which was useless anyways, what did Lukaku do?
He even had a clearer chance to score than Morata and still missed.
If he had scored his initial chance, United could have gotten the equalizer. Ain't saying United didn't play anything, but Lukaku was not better than Morata who is yet to begin any competitive match for Chelsea.
And which one is setting myself to be burnt?
Its just a damn Forum. You see why I prayed and fasted against all desires - spiritual and otherwise - to bring Lukaku here. Because this is what our season would have been reduced to. Sebi Lukaku did his job. He sha scored. Whether playing Lukaku upfront helped the team to be formidable as a collective unit is a secondary topic. So we will be subjected to the distasteful, disjointed play as long as Lukaku did his job. He sha scored Bimfo. What is your problem? |

airmark: Lukaku wasn't my choice for chelse and no excuse for that miss. That ball fell to his weaker foot unlike morata that ballooned the ball to manchester with his right foot against arsenal.
Manchester have themselves to blame for missing begging chances. One of the reasons some of us never wanted morata. He is master of misses.

Hatred has consumed you. According to your last post, Lukaku ballooned the chance because the chance fell on his weaker foot. But you just posted a gif (the second one), with a missed chance by Morata; except the chance fell on his weaker foot and you didn't see it. airmark: There is nothing like fluid system when you are playing against 11 players defending deeply against your team, to grind out result. Costa had to bully martins indi to score, against a stubborn stoke. When chelsea played against barca in 2012, fluid system got them to nowhere against a defensive chelsea. Their striker was nowhere to be found.
Hazard was successfully marked out by herrera and the team went to sleep. Do you think morata would have freed hazard from herrera's shackles with his weak ball protection? So, saying no one can be marked out in conte's system is invalid.
Teams dont even need to double up on morata, he is there for the taking. Again, using single events/wrong examples to back up a point. That Chelsea parked the bus on the night and Barca failed to score, is not enough empirical evidence to state boldly, that there is no such thing as fluid system. If that game is played 10 times over, Barca will probably win 8 times. So where is your analysis coming from, let alone being boldly proclaimed? You are claiming that Morata will not step up in the event of Hazard being marked out in a game, because he (Morata), has weak ball protection. In the same post, you reminding us about Costa's abilities but conveniently leaving out the fact that Costa was playing in the same game that Hazard was being man-marked and marked out. Strangely enough, it seemed Costa's ball-holding/rentention skills could not bail out Hazard either. So is ball-holding/lack of it, the problem? No it is not. (As long as it is a stick with which to beat Morata, it become accepted). You are clearly contradicting yourself. And that's why I stated previously, that you don't understand the fundamental principles of a fluid system. I am now adding to that, the fact that you don't understand the fundamental principle of ball-holding. Simply put. In a fluid system, man-marking Hazard does not even start in the first place because others are running into the channels and using their "first touch" football skills to create unseen spaces behind defenders - basically touching and moving - hereby increasing goal-scoring chances. You cannot hold down/man-mark one player, because no one is "holding the ball" for more than 2 seconds. Opposition teams are able to mark out the star guy, because the others are busy "ball-holding" and creating no real harm. Jose Mourinho knows this. And that's why he employed this. You need to understand the underlying principle, if not, you keep contradicting yourself. |

Nihilstjnr: Did you see what Morata did unmarked this Sunday?
Main Man went for the ball with that Liu Kang Dragon kick and balloned the ball through the window of Raheem Sterling's old council flat in Stonebridge... So Morata has done the unseen right? Like Messi never ballooned a chance unmarked? What is the real point here? In another argument, I am sure you will be arguing that Morata did not expect that the last Arsenal defender wouldn't touch that ball. I am surprised no one has talked about this as a possibility. The shock is not that he ballooned the chance. For me, the shock was that the ball reached him. No one in that position would have thought it. I cannot help but wonder what the consistent criticism of Morata is about, without a decent sample of empirical/visual evidence of him being crap, in a Chelsea shirt. Can someone please help with coming up with a new way of saying "Why the phuck can we not give him a chance......a decent run at the very least, before we start slaughtering him?" Jeez! |

raumdeuter: Its on record nihilist never wanted Conte too and felt he will fail
nihilist wanted Lukaku, airmark wanted Belloti, so unless Chelsea bought the 3 then someone will be disgruntled either way I just freed Nihilist because I have little time for "I told you so" comments. Few games into last season, I was the first to explain the concept of the 3-4-3 and how I thought it was a brilliant system and how it enabled us score goals. Nihilist went on record saying that the goals were through luck and also stated that he wanted Conte out. It is easy to travel the wide road. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by nateevs(m): 4:42pm On Aug 08, 2017 |
airmark: Nobody said other players should not score. Hazard did last season and we benefited. Now shifting the burden to other players is the bigger gamble. Like you said if the striker is marked out, hazard and co can step in. What happens if hazard and co are marked out? Hazard delivered when costa had injuries in 2014/15 season. What we re saying is, strikers should be able to score more goals, cos the competition is tougher than before. If an injured hazard returns and is expected to up his goal tally, morata a 70m man should drop his, right?
We dont need a midfielder as striker, we are not real madrid with ronaldo. Even zidane benched him for benzema. To strike, means to hit, not to pamper. You are the one who is being rigid in your analysis. You are trying to criticise the alternate viewpoint without full grasp of the underlying principles. This is it. Because the whole concept of this is that in a fluid system, no one gets marked out. And that's where your analysis falls down. Marking-out only happens when you play a system that is heavily reliant on a single outlet. In a fluid system, marking-out becomes redundant upon initiation because everyone utilises everyone else's attributes to be equally dangerous. That's the whole point. |

Nihilstjnr: First Touch is Better than Goals...Verbatim Alhaji, you will like to tone down the agenda. There's no need to bend it all the way to your end, so you can climb. There are a billion things to take from that post but you are summarising everything into your agenda. However you like to twist it, the objective is goals. Lots of them. The difference between us is how we intend to achieve them. You want to go down the line of finding one guy who does it all, at the expense of a collective goal-scoring system. I want to go down the line of a collective goal-scoring system, at the expense of one guy who does it all alone. Simples! Why do I want this? Well.....I want to prevent a situation where things fall apart, when the one guy who does it all, is unavailable. In it's place, I want a system that works for goals, even when the main guy is unavailable. There's no need to make it look like we are trying to sacrifice goals for first touch. We are saying, without first touch, one guy may score a lot but collectively, less. We are saying..... with first touch, we want to score more goals, but collectively! It's as simple as ABC. Unless, as you have rightly admitted, there is an agenda. |
