olabode89: Again.. Concerning Neymar you also do not understand the business of football. There is little or no risk in the Neymar signing from a financial perspective. Dude is a money making machine, he is extremely marketable especially in Latin America and Asia. Hehe. Figures mate, figures! Given that statistically, a whole league sells about 5m to 6m shirts per season, how can you justify that? The clubs with the highest selling number of shirts are probably Barcelona, Bayern, United, Madrid and Chelsea. I bet no one of them sells more than 2m shirts per season. Given that most of these shirts sell between £35 and £80 and at an average £50 per shirts, the highest earners make an estimated £100m per season from combined team shirt sales. This is Real Madrid level sales. Even if Neymar makes up for a whopping 70% shirt sales in a 1.5m (grossly overstated sales number) for PSG; at £50 per shirt, he would make no more that £75m per season. The catch though is that about 70-80% of those sales go to Adidas/Nike, leaving PSG with a paltry £15m/year from Neymar's estimated shirt sales. Look at the figures mate! Double the figures if you like, triple the sales if you want, how can Neymar ever pay back €222m transfer fee over, let alone the reported £200m salary over 5 years? Neymar will need to be pusing PSG shirt sales to about 5m shirts a year to stand any chance of ever repaying his transfer fee. To put things in perspective, the whole of the Premier league sells no more than 5m shirts. How do you make such declaration with a straight face? |

Nihilist: With Rudiger and Bakayoko in the squas, we should be looking for a way to switch to a back 4 abeg.
Having an extra man in defence is useless when we battle teams with solid midfield.
We saw that too many times last season - spurs, city, and Manyoo for example.
The wingbacks can't even go anywhere because when they bomb up, they leave opposition wingers waiting in space.
Just look at what the likes of Ribery and Rafinha were doing today when Moses and Alonso went up field. With Rudiger and Bakayoko in the squad, we should be looking to entrench the 3-4-3. Increased mobility and pressing is what we will notice as improvements. That's a pre-season game and very little should be made of it. Bayern will be doing the same. And they will not be wrong. Insert Rudiger, Bakayoko, Morata, Hazard, Pedro and Sandro (assumption) into that lineup and Bayern know they are up a against a proper solid team. Rumour has it that Conte is looking at 3 more players. I will be watching the Pre-season with pop-corn in a relaxed mode. Almost nothing of what we see now will be relevant by August 31st. |

afrodoc2: You are facing a team that will hug possession and you field a midfield of Kante and lazy Fabregas? That was where the kasala started bursting. Anyway it is just pre-season but if Conte tries that Fab-Kante combo in UCL against the likes of Bayern, Barca e.t.c they will use Shekpe's nose to blow horn. This is a moot point really. There is a reason why ninjahs were beefing Conte last season for playing Matic ahead of Fab, despite never having been a fan of Matic's all along. Conte can smell this from a mile away. If Bakayoko was fit, he will be playing. End of! |

bigkesh: Sergi Roberto bawo
3-4-3 don't need utility players abeg,we need specialists
If he is coming as a CM,he will be 4th choice and Baker can do that And we all know he won't be great at RWB
Buy guys with defined roles No Bigkesh. You are not sure of that. The ability to be a utility player is what led to the discovery of Moses at RWB. He is actually an average Winger and RB. The ability to be a utility player is what led to the discovery of Alonso at LWB. He is actually an average Winger and LB. No we don't need specialist players in a 3-4-3. What we need, are players with intelligence that can transfer their abilities to fill a role and own it. That's what happened with Azpili, Moses and Alonso. Who could have predicted in 2016, that after one full season and 33 apps, no single Chelsea fan will be calling for an upgrade on David Luiz? But he is not even a specialist CB. The underlying factor is the individual player's football intelligence and Sergi has bags of that. |

Nihilist: Next thing you'll hear is Play X, Play Y like Conte is holding pad in a gamecentre.
If you look out of place in a game with nothing riding on it, teams who are desperate for points will eat you alive in serious competition.
Arsenal have had chances to score at least 2 now. This is not particular to Chelsea youth. Plus you can't just pluck a bunch of young players who've played in different parts of the world under different systems and chuck them in a 3-4-3 and expect them to dazzle. That's not how youth football works. Even the senior players looked a little disjointed, the first time they played a 3-4-3. Criticism is good but it needs to be within context. |
