Griffon:Be a better man. Don't be insulting now because you don't understand my point. It's not my fault. Your point off bite it's just that. Yours! You think evolution is doing it the way you are accustomed to. He probably thinks evolution is bringing that style to the EPL and winning with it. However, we should ignore his own view on evolution and agree with yours? Why? Honest question. Do you think JM can formulate a winning system and then go on and dominate the world if he had a team with Iniestas and Xavis? Would he need major changes our would just get on with it? Answer honestly. |
Griffon:This is your own definition of managerial brilliance. Someone else comes along and says, guys you know what? I know another way, however I require a precise nature of resources to achieve it. He reproduces it at two different clubs, wins over a dozen trophies while at it but somehow, you think he is wrong and you are right. This is the part I really need someone to explain. Why do they think he is wrong? Because he chooses to do it the way you are not accustomed to? |
Ibime:One chance! Never seen a Presidential with so many goofs before assuming office. Has nothing of substance to say. Just political rhetoric. Some people are going to be disappointed on a level never experienced. |
donjazet:You caught that. No vex. Na play we dey play. |
lalaboi:Therein lies the problem. Who the "fudge" is he? There is more than just genuine intellectual debate to this whole saga. Hatred haf enter from backyard. Those who hired him, who were in the same room on the day he declared that City need 11 players, have gone ahead and hired him regardless. And you are asking who is to ask? YOu would have walked away at that point. Many others on here would have. But they didn't. Yet you still question why he was hired. |
donjazet:Alhaji Don Jazzy, you will like to calm down. E be like say understanding haf lost on you. If you understand the naunce of the debate, you will see I am the open one, who has no allegiance to Pep and leaning on the side of history and facts. A Manager who is proven and a serial winner in the game, is telling me he needs 11 players to actuate his style. Who am I to disagree? You on the other hand, who's never managed a footballer, is saying, NO, Pep is lying. And you are calling me the pompous and arrogant one? How? I don't make enemies on here. Let's keep it friendly and civil. |
lalaboi:1. What they are building there requires time. Never happens overnight. Case in point, La Masia. The point is to build from ground up. It doesn't matter that he's been there for 4 years. 2. The actuator is actually Pep. The fact that Pep mentins they need 11 player way before he joined renders this discuss already obsolete. Why can't we wait and see before we jump to conclusion? What is the urgent need to be right, right now? |
lalaboi:You see? This is the difference between both sides of the arguments. You ahve asked all the questions you want to hear - The comfortable ones. I didn't see you ask, what happens if he gets all he needs and then goes on to dominate? The truth is, your mind surpresses that question and makes you think it is not possible. The truth however is not that it isn't, it that you desperately don't want it to be true. I on the other hand, have asked both and my response thus: If he gets what he needs and phucks it up, then he will be forever known as an actor, spared by the brilliance of Messi. However, if the converse scenario occurs, he will be legendary as I suspect he will. I just lean on the side of facts, he has reproduced it where he has gone and been successful with it. Why should I join the train of thinking his style doesn't work in the PL when I can clearly see that Fernandinho is no Xavi? And I don't think you understand the hiring part very well. You do realise that most of those peops have been hired before they got Pep right? Now that's another fact your mind is trying to surpress. ![]() Face it Lalaboi, he was hired because of his style. |
lalaboi:I don't think I intimidate people on here. So if a post is meant to be directed to me, 'then be man, do the right thing'! . (By the way that's from Peter Russell)To the post, I knew this was coming and I knew it will come because of a fundamental lack of understanding of the concepts behind the arguments. This is it. It is futile arguing that any manager does not need money to win. Anyone caught saying that, should be imprisoned. Both managers need money. He'll even Fergie needed/needs money. The fundamental difference between Pep and JM is that people hire JM when they want to win trophies. End of. Success. End of! However only deceitful people do not admit that when Pep is hired, it goes a little further than just Success. Fact! Pep then says, you want my 'style', to achieve it, so so are the conditions. Including mentioning that, I do not care what your current stock is, I know my style inside out and your stock us incompatible with the conditions of my set up. Simple! And that's the truth. In other words, it doesn't matter if your stock cost you a billion. If you come lusting after my style, you have to chunk out and replace. Now how hard is this to understand? You lot are now coming to tell the guy to adapt. Adapt bawo? Are we all in denial of why he was hired? Did he not state his terms and conditions? And you claiming adapt and declaring he is wrong. Why should he adapt? The guy is in no denial of why he was hired. |
donjazet:The bane of contention comes down to this. Regurgitated baseless opinion, being masked as fact, now settling into the consciousness of the ordinary football follower. One will think that you were in the boardroom. Meanwhile, Nihilist posts a snippet from an article stating that Pep said in the past, that City needs 11 new players. However, your task will be easier if you chose to ignore this. And I understand. Afterall, having an opinion is easy. Having an informed opinion on the other hand. . . . . I state again. I have no love for the guy but he is damn good at what he does. You want him to do it the way YOU THINK is best. My question is who are you to say so? You have not managed a footballer for one day and you are here criticising a fella who has won over a dozen trophies. His employers are not complaining. Perhaps they are even waiting patiently to give him his own tools, you don't know. But you are taking Phensic and Alabukun for Headache that doesn't consign you. Weh done Sir! |
Nihilist:We've been through this. It is not public record. Only tabloids carried this news. No reputable article records this. If anything, reputable houses reported that "Everton are yet to receive a bid" in a best case scenario. In fact, many others state Chelsea were not even interested. |
donjazet:The problem is not Pep. The problem is everyone else that believes he should be what they think. Why is it hard to appreciate that he will not bend? It's a matter of opinion. He thinks you should not compromise your ideals to fit the popular mantra, you think not. What makes you right and him not? He's won over 15 years trophies doing it his way. Where's the problem? People should stop the overflogged topic of "This is how Pep should do it". "He needs to find a system that works" News Flash! He doesn't. Because he has proven it. Even before he came, we all knew what he was about? So why everyone dey shout from roof-top to be heard? Free the guy abeg. And kindly let me correct a notion. Pep doesn't need £100m to build a squad. This is a misguided intepretation of Pep's requirement of players. His ideology is not hinged on the total amount spent but the fundamental technical capbility of each player. Even if that player costs £5m. In essence, this means that a Mangala may have cost £35m and be very fit for a Jose system, does not mean he is fit for Pep's. This thing is not hard. |
Finally Nihilist steps in to bring balance. The argument has just been so lopsided, it's become very boring. All men arguing from tunnel vision. No one actually attempting to research why he is failing. Almost like there is a secret wish for him to fail. Suddenly, a few quotes are posted and everyone takes several steps back. Thanks. I have no love for the guy but mehn. . . It's like a situation where people are so desperate, they will hang on to any fibre of events, as long as it can be used to prove that tiki taka does not work. What's hilarious about the whole saga is that this fella might have wholesale changes in the summer, have a rejuvenation, and completely walk the PL. What then will be the new argument? Argument with caution. That's the smart way. Nihilist:But why should he? You posted an excerpt showing the agreement he had with his employers. 10 new players and doing it my way. Perhaps along the line, the discussion went as far as, "Gentlemen, if we don't get those players, we could struggle" and the gentlemen responded saying, "Okay, we believe in you, we are building for the future, just hang in there, we will back you up in the summer" If anything, Chelsea has shown everyone this season, that finishing 10th means phuckall. With the right manager in place, and the right "SYSTEM" to back it up, you can win the league the season after. So why should he? |
CFCman:You get time. If he was truly after the fact, why hasn't he googled it in that time frame? Me I cannot be explaining things to people in 2017, when pretty much anything can be looked up online, if in doubt. |
logica:Then you don't understand the fundamental principle behind revenge porn. |
Bunch of confused phucks. The nude poster with Tunnel vision, some how lives in a world where his Father is excused from the act but the nude owner isn't. So stupid, he cannot see that he just committed a crime by distributing nudes online. People like Flirty Karen on the other end, are only in this for the hits and likes. They like you to think they are shaming hoes destroying someone's home. But somehow oblivious to the fact, that after the very public distribution of otherwise private matters, a woman (the nude poster's Mum) is destroyed by the event. Probably goes into depression or commits a grievous crime as a result of the hurt from the public embarrassment. Home destroyed. The question is who exactly is destroying homes? Then there's the girl who likes us to think she is 'caught up' in the wrong crowd. Yeah right. Birds of a feather they say. . |
Roman will be financing the Stadium from his pocket. This is one of the few avenues club owners are left with (FFP restrictions), should they desire to inject cash directly to the club. Roman has not been able to directly inject money into the club for many years now. This is his chance. Half a billion will not make him broke; especially as he is injecting it into a fixed asset. The club could easily increase turnover through the gates by as much as 30%; sign lucrative deals with naming rights etc. All this increases propensity for profit-making. This is the line I expect a football-loving, Chelsea-loving man like Roman to tow. Not selling players to achieve it. Roman who is not afraid to fire Jose a second time, mid-season, for below-par performance, does not strike me as the same man who starts flogging players to raise money. Meanwhile I see DonJazzy wants to sell Hazard and buy Lukaku. Weh done Sir! Please share some of what you are having. |
donjazet:Seriously? We are not talking of a name like John or Steve. Bamidele Alli. And you are in doubt for a second? |
Havilah93:Somebody with a name Ademola Lookman. YOu are asking if he is a Nigerian. ![]() What other part of the world can a human be christened with such? ![]() |
Ademolaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa |
It's going to be another Pep week. ![]() |
Good game. 3pts. Perhaps we can start another run. 17 more games. |
Gooooalllll |
Alonso almost registered a hattrick. Ibime for just faint. |
chic2pimp:I know. Got a few mates with Arsenal season tickets and it's just ridiculous. For Chelsea, I know it depends on the stands. Anything between £600 and £1500. But I don't expect those price levels to stay the same upon moving into the new stadium. Just glad we now have 17000 more opportunities to get one. Waiting list long die. Hopefully we don't have cartels doing deals with the club, mopping up the lot and selling to rich Asians tourists. |
Season ticket loading. Finally. Very good news. First saw it last week. Impressive. Every time I see it, it looks like a gigantic heat sink. |
Griffon:This will tally with my opinion on the Ake matter. It didn't make sense to me that his loan would have been cut short 6 months into it, if he wasn't coming in to play. This is also revealing information as some of us have been made to look like idiots supporting Alonso. I think he deserves some commendation for his efforts, giving he has been playing through a muscular discomfort. It's difficult to strap your muscle and play. |
Why would Chelsea truncate the possibility of Ake becoming a much better player at the end of season; possibly saving on transfer fees (considering that we posted a huge financial loss in the last year, we need all the money we can get), just for the sake of creating competition? My take on the situation is this. If Chelsea already know that Ake won't play, then they won't bring Ake back. The decision-makers can see, that the positives gained from Ake staying back at Bournemouth, is more than we can achieve from him being a competition at Chelsea. (It will be a different argument if it was end of the season). For this reason, I believe he is actually coming back to play. If it was only about competition, we have Kennedy. Or we could bring back Rahman for that purpose (depending on the terms of his loan). But to recall Ake six months into his loan, when he is a guaranteed starter for his team in the PL? I think Ake is coming back to surprise many. But I may be wrong. |
Ibime:I believe MvG is going back on loan. |
How did they get this done? That's some proper spy sh1t. Cloning from another planet. Close enough to cause a stir in market but just enough to avoid getting sued. I suppose. |
Ibime:All true. Emphasised by the fact that Azpilicueta before the Spurs game, had the most touches in the PL. Many don't realise how important Azpilicueta is to the set up especially on the right. Zouma cannot play in this formation. |
donjazet:Your analysis is coming across again as isolated from the true state of things. A Kante/Matic midfield is not better a Wanyama/Dembele one. In fact, some quarters will argue that theirs is more creative. If you ask me, I think we can swap mid-fields and not lose quality. At par is what I would call both. However, that their midfield was able to have an upper hand was primarily because Rose and Walker pinned back our wing backs. This allowed them to dominate the mid-field. Not because Dembele and Wanyama single-handedly pinned back our midfield. So once again, it was won and lost by the wing backs. In fact, if we had Rose and Walker running down the flanks and they had Moses and Alonso, then they would have been so occupied, that Kante and Matic would have asserted themselves on the game. IT's just that simple. You are just being so condescending thinking they are not that good. But the reality is that they are. I say again, they have the best defence in the league. How do you think that came about? |

we all have our opinions. You being pompous and arrogant in defense of your opinion is what marvels me. I don't know what makes you think your opinion is superior to mine if not sheer arrogance and a bloated ego.
