Emperoh: Not an issue. It took SAF 4 years to win his first trophy. The 'WE' you refer to is actually SAF. It'll be interesting to see if successors have that much drive. It takes firing a manager who failed to live up to expectation for all that to go down the drain. You wait till the British media begin the say things like "David Moyes, a few people are saying on social media that If that was Fergie's United, they would have come back into the game . . . . Do you agree?" |
coogar: £16m? that's bebe's transfer fees if we sell him today. That's why I said 'willing to pay' rather than 'afford to pay' |
Jose Mourinho reportedly has a £16m release clause in his contract. Will United be willing to pay that? |
dayokanu: Add Thomas Schaf to that listYes! Forgot him. Corrected. |
'Long serving managers' talk is a myth. To put things in perspective, Jose is currently the longest serving manager in the whole of the La Liga. Yet Jose is supposed to be the restless guy. Welcome to the real world guys. Only Fergie, Wenger and Moyes have held a single job down in a top flight European club for more than 5 years. |
StarBoard: Forgive my intransigence monsieur.Go my friend. . and sin no more ![]() |
El Guapo: [color=#0066ff]Read through the Lines, I said at Chelsea - Manure operate by their Outdated Policies which I dont give a heck about.I hope you know this is not by any deliberate strategy at play. Instability in choices of managers has more to do with this than the players being moved on due to sub-par performances. |
StarBoard: More like nateevs fearing the worst that their dream of having Jose back at the bThat means you don't know my stance on Jose coming back to Chelsea. Read my last post about Jose on the Chelsea thread. |
coogar: jose would come to us if offered the job! This is hard for me to accept. Jose will not work under Fergie. Unless Fergie walks away entirely. |
coogar: fergie is upstairs as a director, nothing has changed. i wouldn't mind ole solksjaer. anyone but david moyes is fine by me. the shoe is a big one to fill so i am thinking a high-profile manager.There-in lies the problem. The fact that Fergie's staying on in some capacity. Ideally, Fergie will not open eye and watch things go awry. Therefore his technical input is likely to go beyond "advisory" which means only a yes-man can take the role. Anything else and there will be clash of ideas. This is where you will face a phase Chelsea has gone through - getting players on your (manager) side when they know most of the ideas don't come from you. Hence my statement - most important decision in 20 years. If you ask me, I think Fergie should just walk away completely. |
United faced with the most important decision in 20 years. Get this wrong and . . . . |
na you tell us say Rafa na knockout phase champion. how come he got beat every time?Which kain argument be dis? He won his last game 6-1. What else did you want him to do? Are you saying Rafa took us out of the UCL? |
Goallllllllll |
dayokanu: To show the fantastic attempt the dud made.Show me a top class striker that has never happened to, then you have a point. Else, you are just being playful as usual. |
In the finals. |
dayokanu: Almost a goalWhat's the point of this? |
4llerbuntu: a beg so this one way luiz bend self name assist for lampard? na wah . dem suppose look into the definition of assist oAbi o. |
It just doesn't make sense not playing Luiz in DM. With ability like that, you nurture the dude. I can't wait to see what he could mature into over a season playing that role. |
DAvid Luizzzzzzzzzzzz! |
The same Mourinho that Sheva was bought over his head. That got the likes of Sidwell, BenHaim, Boulharouz against his wishes and was making noise to the media about class A and class B eggs and Omelette. No one tells Abramovic what to do. Not even JM. Especially as we've been down this road before. JM may not be a yes man but all the tussle for power at Chelsea will render him powerless. This is why I think, amongst many other things, JM will not come. If JM does comes, it will be the same thing over. We'll win the league first year, he'll fall out with some of his players and the media in the second year and eventually RA in his third. And we are back to exactly where we now. |
sephia: Can we? A draw at best.I believe we can. Our boys know how to bring on the game at the business end of the season. Spurs know how to hide at this stage of the season. Including a possible Europa league final, there are only 6 more games left. There's no need to rotate. Play MaZaCar for the last five (perhaps six) games with optional Moses here and there. Luiz-Lamps in midfield and Terry/Cahill at CB. We should be fine. Beat United and beat Spurs in succession, top four is secure that day. |
nitlad: Just like someone said earlier on this thread ( I think yourself or Nateevs), these are very winnable matches, just depends on which Chelsea turns up.I said so. And I am glad the good Chelsea turned up. As things stand, we only need 9 points from the last four games. As long as we beat Spurs, top four is guaranteed by the Everton game. |
coogar: why should players who have had 3 months rest in the summer be tired in the autumn? tired after 5-10 league games in comparison to the tiredness after 20-25 league games in february?I honestly did not know how to respond to him. His point seems like players are machines who can go on forever. And that the energy levels they have in the first five games of the season should be the exact same they have towards the end and wait for this . . . . irrespective of a break. How do I respond to that? |
The decision for the penalty was shocking. What do the extra dummies behind the goal do? |
Goal! |
dayokanu: So why was Dortmund running rings round Citeh , Madrid and Ajax in the Fall was that in anticipation of the coming Winter break or was that as a result of the summer break everyone took?If you ask me that question then you've not understood my previous response. You are too eager to make your point. |
OMO IBO: you mean a 14 month old 55inch samsung LED, Series 8, full HD-3D TV could be faulty?Yeah yeah! ![]() You sha want to tell us about ya teefee. ![]() |
Ramires in his worst position ever. Playing on the right. |
dayokanu: If its consequential Then Dortmund would have been beating everyone before the so called Winter breakYou and I know that is just a bad response. Breaks are not the only ingredients required to win a competition. This is why my argument is not saying Dortmund may be in the finals because of the break. It will be hard to prove. Just like it is hard and perhaps futile proving that it doesn't help. |
What's Ramires' role in this game. I can't to seem to find him. He's been absent. |
Goal. |
So in short, the winter break is inconsequential. |
