Depends on the light in the room Hehehehe. You don't yap poppycock eh? Like Welbeck is better than Sturridge. You want us to open up the story of muscles?. . . Just to name a few. Id.iot like you. I talk about tactical flexibility and you are asking if I think I need a DM against Kitchen FC. Why am I recognizing it as flexibility if I am thinking we need one? |

coogar: end of august ke? were you not 15 points good in your 1st five games last season and topping the league with a ridiculous number of goals. by may, chelsea were 9 points below the weakest united team ever. you can win all your first 10 games. . . .we don't care. . . .it is what happens in may that i care about. And that's why I say, "the teams that have come to compete", not win it. Meanwhile, it's interesting that we are playing without a DM. Tactical flexibility. |

is this your blueprint next season? it's looking ominous o this young manager won't last 12 months. Abeg go siddon. Those players played 30mins on Sunday. The first 11 played for 60mins and the plan was to play the 2nd 11 for 60mins today and the 1st 11 for 30mins. AVB's trying loads of things out. Na you sabi. This is Chelsea man. Don't get too comfortable. By end of August we will know which teams came to compete and the pretenders. |

BlueDiva: Nateevs, who are those that have stood out for us? So far those that stand out Ivanovic, Terry, Mikel, McEachran, Sturridge, Benayoun, Zhirkov and Anelka. Lampard until today's game really has been struggling. Many others will come through but we seriously need to beef up in midfield with better ball holding players. |

Zhirkov misses a sitter. Malouda running at goal - one on one situation and a defender catches up with him from about 20 yards behind him. It felt like he was walking. |

Josh's first game in central midfield in a shirt first team shirt and albeit against a weak side, we already see why this boy should not be playing in DM. Top talent this boy.
Also you cannot question the desire, hunger, commitment and the willingness to perform of Danny. |

In the games I've seen so far, Yuri was played on the left of Central midfield. He's been very decent. I like his intelligence on and off the ball. I really believe he will not be sold. He seems to have picked up on his pace. IMO very useful player. I am very sure AVB cannot warm up to the playing style of Mikel, Malouda and Drogba because they all very slow on the ball.
Benayoun has been the most creative player we've had in the team over the last two games. Whenever he's played, it's been on the right of central midfield. I very much believe he will be a big part of the season. He looks sharp, quick and intelligent on the ball. Possibly our best player so far in the pre-season. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by nateevs(m): 3:32am On Jul 24, 2011 |
mykali: well, if AVB wants to continue with the players we already have, so be it. i just hope he don't end up getting the boot after the first season due to the fact that he couldn't 'strengthen' the squad. i like the idea that Drogba signed an extension though, his experience will surely be needed. i also do hope Torres finds his form this time around. i got this feeling that he's the reason why we never really put interest in signing any more strikers/forwards. I saw highlights of the game with the Malaysian XI. Torres missed a lot of opportunities there, but there is hope. and hope is not a bad thing.
@switch let the season begin before you continue with your display of idiocy, will ya? Torres won't fit totally and I mean totally into AVB's playing pattern because he requires players with high work rate unlike Carllotti's where there was slow build-up and less emphasis on retrieving the ball within a specified time. Drogba though good at scoring is also luke warm at running after lost play. Anelka is somewhat tactically indisciplined and Kalou will hardly pass as a striker. AVB will therefore need to open up to the idea of signing a striker that can play in the manner he wants. A young hungry striker who is good enough to give the oldies a run for their money and also has the energy to put in the required work rate. The alternative though is if AVB eventually decides to absolve the central striker of any serious defensive duties. I am confident however that we will sign a decent midfielder very soon. One of Pastore and Modric. |

BlueDiva: Calling him a misfit is a little harsh. My point is we shouldn"t be signing fringe players. The club has tall ambitions and IMO the likes of Romeu wouldnt contribute anything extraordinary.
If we must buy, we should buy tested players. Every other rookie should rise from our ranks. I quite understand that all fans have individual opinions about who should and shouldn't be signed. We must however trust that the manager know what he is doing until at least when we can prove otherwise. Also the fact that a player has signed from a team where he isn't a first team player does not mean he cannot go on to be great. You never know, Romeu may just go and become one of the best talents we ever signed. AVB wants to play in a particular way. I have an idea of how he wants to play, I have seen few clips of Romeu and I can understand exactly why he chose him. Let's see how the season unfolds. |

Meanwhile, i"m not sure why we"re signing rookies when we are busy selling out ours. The so called Romeu is a Barca misfit. Why do you think he is a misfit? |
