Loser!. You think only United have a plan. Chelsea are nothing like City. AVB has stated that Sturridge, Anelka are Kalou are always going to play as wing forwards. Drogba and Torres as the only central strikers. Torres ain't looking like being able to get a goal. Drogba's going away for the ACN and in Lukaku, we have an 18-year who can learn the ropes in preparedness of the eventual retirement of Drogba and Anelka leaving next summer as he is in the last year of his contract. And being a very decent player at the age of only 18, he will qualify as home grown. Also one striker "may" be leaving the leaving the Bridge in a swap deal. 15 pts my arse. |
RSC Anderlecht and FC Chelsea reached today, Saturday, August 6, 2011, a final agreement on the transfer of striker Romelu Lukaku. Subject to the results of medical tests and handling the final details between the player and his new club will Romelu Lukaku the current 2011-2012 season from a player of Chelsea FC. "It is unfortunate that we Romelu - by RSCA discovered and trained - to let go, but the transfer is a win-win situation for the player and the club. The management is committed to finding a good replacement for the lack as soon as possible to catch," said Anderlecht manager Herman Van Holsbeeck. "We wish Romelu luck with the rest of his career." Welcome to ChelseaFC. |
Zhirkov officially left Chelsea. |
That brings us to the end of pre-season. New manager, new tactics and so far the players have react well. I'm very impressed with the new style of play especially with the pressing. With no new additions to the team yet, the players feel up for it. Top performers for the pre-season have been Danny, Mikel, Benayoun, Terry, Ivanovic, Josh. I am sure the others will zoom into fitness and top performance pretty soon enough. With Luiz still to join, Oriol, Kakuta and Piazon, it is looking to me, really good. Adding Modric may be a good thing but right now it's not a pressing need. If we can go a decent wide left player, that will be all. Roll on the season! |
Chalobah on for Lamps. Kalas on for Alex. |
Benayoun off the chain. Who needs Modric? |
With the high defence line, Cech gets to play a much more involved role. He needs to spot the danger early, run off his line and intervene. Meanwhile, Bosingwa dazzling on the right. |
Lamps throway penalty. Signs of the end. ![]() |
Penalty!. |
Goal. Malouda. |
Benayoun on for Ramires. To be fair, Ramires has played very well. |
I have my reservations about Drogba, Anleka and Malouda. It just goes all slow once they step in. |
Danny and Kalou off. Anelka and Malouda on. |
DD can still not pass. He's ruined about 4 passing build ups since he came in. |
Lamps not as sharp any more. |
2nd Half. Drogba in for Torres. |
Impressive performance by everyone. Kalou may be the only exception. Didn't seem he could beat his man on either side. |
End of first half. Looking pretty good I must confess. The cohesion, understanding and tempo has really stepped up. I like the way they use space and the pressing is very impressive. |
43mins. Mikel injured and out. |
It's slowed a bit now. |
Torres has been superb. |
Danny really in the mood today. |
Danny steals a second goal. |
Professionals not playing to the whistle. |

JT almost playing like a midfielder there. So high up, it's scary. |
Danny puts one in. I'm so loving this boy!. |
Andre Uweh:I am watching online ooo. I believe it's on Sky sports. |
Nice tempo. Mikel, Ramires and Danny are really putting in a shift. |
They scored. Very good. So let's see how AVB reacts to going down. That's one big drawback of a high defensive line there. |
That's a pen. Who pushes anyone like that in the box? |
I don't know why but I can't stand Ramires putting on a Chelsea shirt. |
