Popi might not be wrong. We might need to boot the ball long for many parts of the game. Ideally, I would like us to out-pass them in midfield, but we have not played an opposition of this quality is many years. I don't know that we can actually do it. Have you seen their press game?

The converse side of this debate is that I don't want Maresca telling the players they can't do something or that they are not ready. Not in a final.

So I say we go for it. If it turns ugly quickly, then we are going to have to boot that ball long and get back into the game. I want to win this so bad.

You are wasting your time. Maresca’s football philosophy has always been controlling possession by inverting full backs to offer more bodies in the middle. I wonder why you think he will suddenly change today because we are playing world club cup final.

Instead of focusing on us pressing aggressively and rattle PSG defence and midfield and cut passing lanes to the width.

While this is largely true that he's played with inverted FBs, it is not true that he hasn't done anything different for other games.

For instance, at least two games in the CWC, instead of an inverting FB, he's experimented with a full-on attacking FB providing the width. This allows him to play with an unconventional RWF/LWF like Palmer, who then tucks in to do AM duties along with their WF duties where necessary.

That extra body required for midfield overload in an inverting FB is then created by what is now the less advancing no 8. He uses Enzo for this.

It's complex to explain without a tactic board, but if you've seen what I am explaining, you can see it unfold. And he has to do this, because he knows that he needs to develop solutions for when we play the likes of PSG.

Contrary to the general belief on here. I think he's actual a smart tactical manager. Inexperienced, but smart.

I bet you that if vitinha played for chelsea you would hate him even worse, all this is because you don't watch him since or before he joined psg. vitinha is lord level to you doesn't mean you come here and say he is incomparable to enzo.

Enzo has been world class even before joining chelsea, then even now playing in a different style from what he has played for much of his career he is still a boss.

The problem you have is that even you don't know exactly what technical/tactical advantages you like about Enzo over Vintinha as a CM. I don't care about AM duties. Just pure CM duties.


I am not going to trade words with you because your feelings are hurt over this Enzo matter.
