Now is not the time to buy. . . . simple. . . the market is overinflated. . . . those talking about Sneijder should remember we have enough CMs, besides Sneijder is simply overweight, depressed and very unprofessional and hasnt featured for Madrid since January. . . . they are begging him to leave, meaning he is a liability. . . . he will just become another Deco.

We already have 3 strikers, enough CMs and DMs, we have bought cover for Ashley and left-wing is fully stocked. . . . perhaps a right-winger is the only thing missing, but Anelka grew into the role last season and especially in the last 3 matches of the season, he was dribbling players for fun. . . . Joe Cole, Kalou and Stoch can also cover that. . . . as far as I am concerned, our transfer activity is done. . . . we just need to sell Carvalho and Deco. . . . and if Terry goes, then we need to sign a new CB. . . . Steven Taylor is the most Terry-like player in the prem.
Ibime, I share your opinion 100%. . . Well except the Sneijder one. We could pretty much be done. We don't have 3 strikers. We have DD, Anelka, Pizzarro, Sheva, DiSanto and Sturridge in that order.
We may be pretty much done in transfer market. . . and I sincerely believe we can win the PL with the team we have. Except of course like I pointed out earlier, Bruce said there will be one more signing.

This one wey Joe Cole turn to Rosicky over-night nawa oooo.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here by nateevs(op): 11:10am On Jul 16, 2009
That's because Roman has learnt that shelling out £40m, £50m for players and paying astronomical wages don't guarantee trophies.  What we need is a team. A Ronaldo, Kaka, Benzema the world neva knew of has never happened to Chelsea. Barca took a gamble on Iniesta and Messi a few years ago and it's paid off. Ask me how much it'll cost now to try to persuade barca to release Messi.

It can't always be about Superlet. Sometimes a starlet is what we need. Mind you we haven't sold any players. So by bringing in players like Madrid and City have done, we will offset the wage structure of the club. I can't subscribe to paying Tevez £170k a week, Adebayor £170k a week and Terry £280k a week. How do we sustain that? And with Players like Terry that have clauses written into their contracts that puts them at par with the highest earners at the club, it won't be long before Essien, Drogba, Anelka, Ashley Cole start asking about their worth. Where does it end.

The best approach in this City and Madrid controlled market I believe, is to sit back, watch them finish their shopping then go in smartly and pick young players that want to play for us, not ones looking  for a last pay day.

Although Bruce Buck has said there is going to be one Marquee signing this summer, which I suspect is going to be one of Aguero, Pato and Ibramhimovic - I for one will expect this signing to happen only when the ingredients are right. No over-priced fella and no over-paid fella here please.

This is new reality guys. No more paying Chelsea money. Roman is wiser now.

Real can only register 25 players - If I am right. The had 29 before they signed Benzema.
They are going to have to release some players and they will on the cheap for that matter. . .

We may not get Sneijder for 15m Euros . . . but if we do I don't expect us to get him for more £18m . . .

What do you suppose Arsenal will be like at August 31st. . . . The end of the season is when it'll become more than ever more foolish not to fire Wenger. . .

That remains a rubbish analogy given that the Citeh players CANNOT be compared to the Chelski players!! How many of them have the passion of a DD or a Terry or a Lampard to WIN?? Huh

This is not simply a case of lifting your game. . . they do not have the substance and that substance is not acquired in one or even two seasons.
I have told you that there is no comparison intended. . . Terry, DD and Lamps raise their games to win PL and CL titles not finishing in the top four. .
What I am asking City players to do is to finish in the top four and you are telling me that players like Tevez, Ade, RSC, Robinho, SWP, Lescott, Toure who have all played in CLs, won league titles, won the World Cup, even won CL don't know how to raise their games to be in top four. . ?
I think you lost money again playing your kalokalo. . . grin

What happened the second season? Injury syndrome again. . .oh I guess Sparky was a healer as well.
Need I tell you Sparky was at ManCity then . . . . Oh you didn't remember. . .

Pedersen also had one of the worst time of his careers under Sparky, going from a potential Utd target to a Hull target. Grin Do we give Sparky credit for that as well? Huh
Hull were bidding on a prem player in the championship? I didn't know . . . Or maybe Sparky was not at Blackburn when Hull bid for Pedersen. . . Please help with the answers. . .

Maybe, but so what? Bringing out the best in one player means you can manage a CL club
I thought you asked what he did at Blackburn . . I give you examples and you say so what ? . . . . He can't get every decision right . . He only has to get most right . . If not ask why Wenger hasn't won a trophy in five years. . .

More Rubbish! Robinho would score 25 if he was at Chelsea or Utd, what did Sparky do??
Now you are contradicting yourself. . . You said a few moments ago that signing all the players don't mean shit . . . He signs a player a the player scores 25 goals you say the player would have done it regardless. . . Why did he sign the player in the first place . . Is it not to do it regardless?
Now what if RSC, Tevez and Robinho lead a front three that go on to score 14 goals each ?. . (which they will), you will say they would have done so regardless. . . . Is this not the same reason we are arguing. . . ?

listen - Sparky is an OK coach, in my view though, he is in the THIRD echelon of premiership managers.

You have the top 4 managers, then O'Neill, Moyes and Redknapp, then the next category of Hughes, Bruce and Hodgson.

He is by no means qualified for the City job and will be shown up in due time.
Look I am not a fan of Sparky's and this is my first time supporting him in public. . . I have not said Sparky is one of the best but don't day he doesn't have what it takes to finish in the top four . . . and don't say signing those players won't take them into the top four Sparky or not. . . .
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by nateevs(m): 8:07pm On Jul 13, 2009
tkb417:
and we are saying Hughes cant add the extra to those set of players to make dem finish in the top 4
simple!!!

he just doesnt have the quality. he'll probably be the first coach to be sacked cos i forsee city struggling in 10th-12th position
Tell me what exactly it is you know that tells you he can't add anything to them . . . .
What was RSC's career like in Germany before he joined BBR? . . He was rubbish. Scoring 38 goals in 8 seasons. Sparky bought him for £3.5m and brought out the best in him and he scored 22 goals in his first season.

Players like David Bentley, Pedersen had the best time of their careers when they played under Sparky. He even brought out the best in the supposedly finished Benny McCarthy and he was 2nd highest goal scorer behind Drogba in the league.

He made the most of rubbish players like Samba, Roberts, Nielsen and others.

Even when people like me thought he won't be able to use Robinho, the fella finished with 14 goals in his first season in the prem. Players like Elano and Stephen Ireland have had international call-ups while playing under Sparky . . and you are telling me he can't add more to them . . . .

Look go and catch some sleep. . .

nateev is a proper beer parlour analyst

wat did Hughes do at Blackburn?

how can someone compare Chelsea to an assembled team like citys?
it beats me
If only you will take your head out of your ass and look well you will see I did not compare Chelsea to City.

I have not said City will win the league or reach the final of the CL, I have not said they will win trophies and I have not said they will go unbeaten at home for 4 years . . . This is only when you can say I have compared City to Chelsea. .

I only used the analogy to show that players can lift their game and win games. . irrespective of the experience of the coach.
Bottom line is City will finish in top four . . Y'all are just hating on them.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by nateevs(m): 7:46pm On Jul 13, 2009
Now you both are taking the argument a bit far . .

This is not about Sparky winning the prem . . It's about finishing in the top four or not. .
and he will.

He's not gone on to sign Kaka, Ronaldinho and the likes. He's rather signed quality, and Prem proven players.
Now Debo is talking about winning  the title. . Dream on bro. . .
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by nateevs(m): 7:41pm On Jul 13, 2009
@Debo

Call them paper formations for all you like. It's just an indication of how they can line up. . and you leave them with their dressing room wahala. . .

Two major problems city had last year were defence and attack. They have sorted attack and will sort out the defence. They are buying right. Not spending like we thought they would have. . .  i.e. £100m for Kaka.
£20m here, £25m there and attracting the top prem players.

What is to say Toure won't go?. . . You watch on with all your ninny mid-fielders with chicken legs that have great affection for the medical table. You will be surprised.
