Do we really have too many midfielders? . . . Who are they?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here by nateevs(op): 8:33am On Jun 12, 2009
@Somze.

There is nothing to suggest we are not getting Pato. . .
Pato said he wanted to talk to CA about his future when he returns from the confederations cup. I doubt Milan will allow that to happen if there isn't a possibility of a transfer.
If we offer £30m they will grab our hands with it.

And I also do not believe we are too slow. ManU, Arsenal, Liverpool, Villa, Spurs. . .No team except City has signed anyone. . So I do not think we are slow. If you want whatever we want to do to be quicker, that's a different.

I believe we have spotted those we want to sign and we are in advanced talks with them. . We are no longer in the days of Jose, we do things quietly now.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here by nateevs(op): 10:20pm On Jun 11, 2009
Villa and Ronaldo are already Real players as far as I am concerned.

@FBS

The fact that we forked out £30m for a wasted poppycock in the past doesn't mean we should never pay big money for a player when we see one.
ManU paid £30m for Rooney 4 seasons ago. . . . 4 years ago. .
I don't object to paying £30m for a good striker especially when Pato is 19 and Aguero is 21. . . . actually that's the main reason I support it

We can get a good 10 years of top class service from the lads if they click. Milan bought Pato for £17m 3 years ago. . So paying £30m for a young talented striker who has scored 26 goals in 59 appearances in a top European team is not too much money. . .

Should I talk about Aguero. . . . ? I watch this bloke every other weekend . . . Class!

It's about balance. . . We should know just when to pay a few millions for Kakuta, £8m for Ivanovic, £3.4m for DiSanto, Sturridge for free, Ballack for free . . . and we should know just when to fork out the millions for world class when we can. . .

Hope you don't think I am talking about Euros ?
I am talking pounds mate. . . .

@Debo

By selling Drogba to finance those signings-on . . . You mean Roman can't pay for them ?
Or Roman in his right senses should not keep Drog, Aguero and Pato in the same team . . .  ?

I don't gerrit. .

Again. .  who is Adebayor?  undecided undecided
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here by nateevs(op): 8:13pm On Jun 10, 2009
While I def will not subscribe to a £40m bid for Pato. . . £30m max, £35m for Aguero will be a fair value because of the buy-out clause in his contract.
Whichever way it turns out . . we can't go wrong buying those two. . .

And I have this strange feeling we might get them both. . .

@FBS

These players have 4 legs . . . trust me!

Eto'o is old . . .
Apart from that I am worried about he number of players that are going to depart form the ACN 2010 in January.

Drogba
Essien
Mikel

All crucial players . . . If we go ahead and get Eto'o, then we lose him for a month as well. . . It's one of the reason I thought we should let Drogba go. . . . He will get a ban from UEFA and won't play for some matches in the Champions and gone a large part of the season for ACN. . Truly next season is out of the running for Drogba. .

For over a month, we will not have a natural DM in the side. We should look at other options. . . or we will suffer next year.

Eto? Hell to the no! Eto was exposed to be at least 3 years older than he says he is a couple of years ago. He claimed that the first time he met Roger Milla was at a qualifier between Cameroun and Zambia when he was young. He said Roger gave him a shirt, and he added that he was 7 years old at the time. Some journalist went and dug up the archives and found that the match between Zambia and Cameroun was in 1985, when Eto should have been no more than 4 years old. This is the main reason Barca wanna sell him. They know he's only got a few years left at the very top. It doesn't matter if he scores 50 goals a season, they are still looking for a replacement.
LMAO. . . Heard the story 2 years ago as well . . .

I am worried that we have players that too reliable and kind of untouchable that we are missing a very important part of club football in Chelsea - growing the young into superstars.
With Terry, Lampard and Drogba being unplayable. . . we are kind of stuck. They have to play always or how do we justify over £100,000 a week wages.
The unfortunate thing is that Drogba and Lamaprd are single-styled players and not adaptable. .
To achieve tactical flexibility at Chelsea, we have to bench these players. . and to bench them is to start dressing room unhappiness.

I like the threat of Drogba in front goal . . and I like the consistency of Lampard but I yearn for flexibility in the team where we can play a different style or a different 11 and look just as dangerous or even more . . . I don't know what CA has in mind but I hope he works on that. . .

Also I really wish someone is really pushing for DiSanto to get starts this season

Hold on a sec. . . .

If I am not getting my figures wrong . . .
Edin scored 26 goals this season and 30 in all competitions for Wolfsburg . .
Claudio scored 17 goals this season and 26 in all competitions . . . taking into account the 6 goals in uefa cup and bearing in mind that Edin did not play in uefa cup . . .

How exactly did you come about Claudio out-scoring Edin. . . ? Except I got my figures wrong anyway.
Also Claudio is 31, 32 next season . . . Edin is only 23 which suggests massive room for improvement.

Secondly I don't see aw Torres does more work for the team than Edin. . . 50 goals in 2 seasons and we say the days of the goal poacher is gone . . ? We'll be pissing in our pants if we had a Torres . . .

I believe it's about getting the balance right. . If you are playing a Dzeko then you are playing like a Pato and Lampard behind him and you also have pacy wingers with good crossing abilities. . It'll be suicidal to play like a Drogba and Dzeko at the same . . it's like taking 2 players out of the first line of defense. . .

Everytime you have player with a goal threat in him, you have confidence of winning. . .

Edin, I think will do well here. . . . I really believe so.

CHELSEA STATEMENT ON KAKA
Posted on: Wed 03 Jun 2009

Chelsea Football Club has issued the following statement in response to reports that we have made a world record transfer offer for Kaka.

'We have never made an offer to AC Milan for Kaka and therefore not one at this extraordinary level. As a consequence we have not discussed a salary with the player either. Any reports to the contrary are totally untrue.'

Thank God . . . .

We are signing Pato not Kaka. . . . . at least I hope . .

Loving what ?
I have been fasting and praying this deal doesn't go through . .

I am actually looking for fellow Chelsea fans to fast alongside me . . .
Spend £73m on a player and when you win . . you bought the success.
Don't win and you get all the abuses and curses in the world . . .

Even if we wanted to recoup the money back from merchandise . . . We'll  need to sell 1.45million shirts . . .
I am actually trying to believe Sky Sports have got their facts twisted. . .

RA is still on course to make Chelsea self sufficient . . . .

Bros please let me drool over Dzeko. . . I just think with the right set-up he will score goals. . . He has an eye for goals . . .
His touch, technique and awareness cannot be overstated. . . .
While I can't take any abilities away from Grafite . . . Dzeko has 10 assists along with his 26 goals . .
He has scored 12 goals in 17 appearances for the Bosnian National team and is currently the highest goal scorer in the World cup qualifiers - Euro Zone, with 7 goals and without Grafite . . .

I don't believe in only going after the obviously talented youngsters . . .but also, sometimes, the less obvious that turn out to be world stars and I really think Dzeko is one of those . . .

That said . . I will go and bring Pato from Heathrow myself. . . . If I hear the word sign . . .
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here by nateevs(op): 1:36pm On Jun 03, 2009
Ok after waiting for long for Edin Dzeko's announcement. . he came out with nothing except this at a press conference. . .

" I would like to stay in wolfsburg for one more year, I have got a new agreement and its my decision to stay or not. I have not talked about going to Italy - Milan or Juventus, it was only England - The premiership".

Fingers crossed . . .

Who won't be excited by the signing of Pato . . . ?
Like I said earlier, I will rather spend £20m on Pato than 60 odd million on Kaka. .

The secret of Milan might work . . . My question is do we have to keep the ageing . .
I don't see the need building another multi million pound lab . . . employ people to have it running - more wages, just so we can keep 9 players that are already over 30 . . .
This is the premiership, all the focus should be on signing on exciting talent like Pato, Sturridge and the next Kakas and Drogba . . While we slowly ease out the ageing. . .
I am not asking for a massive clear-out, but gently easing them out like fergie does. . .

This route will only ensure that our million pound players never go away . . What will then be the need for the Academy?

FBS:
I like the guy and he already has EPL experience but how exactly does he fit in?
Whatever happened to our youngstershuh
He is good, if he turns out exceptional it won't be a matter of how he will fit in but who won't play when he does.
He is young, talented built by and for the premiership and comes for free. . .
He could be worth £40m in the future if things go well. . .

Hope he sorts out his arrogance though. . . He won't get to the top with that attitude of his. . .

Kaka's move to Real on hold as Chelsea put in 80m Euro bid . . .
Real won't do that much . .
Real offering 65 + one of Sneijder, Robben, Drenthe, Pepe, Gago . . .

Unbelievable! All because of one player. . . This is madness.

I will take Sneijder, Robben and Drenthe in a flash. . .

Maybe we should cut a deal with them to let them buy Kaka for 65m and we get Sneijder or Robben for £10m . .

I never wanted him here - not becos of lack of ability but for the sheer amount of money expended to achieve that. .
It's stupid to bid 80m Euros for a single player. . Some will make a reason in shirt sales . .
How about making the Kaka?

I'll rather put in £20m bid for Pato, £30m for Aguero  Eden Hazard, Gorcuff any two of these brilliant and upcoming players and I'ld still have change from the Kaka money. . .

Not to even talk about £150,000 a week for 4 years . . when we could buy 2 good youngsters on a £50,000 a week wage and still have change . .

Plus you can't sell Kaka to anyone after a season with us for more than £15m. . .
