I really do understand your views about berbatov. My point is just that If we are buying in the Jan transfer window, a striker should be one that is already in the league., not one that comes to learn after drog has gone. Ifwe want to bring a striker from spain, I will say we should be careful, becos he might be learning until Drog comes back.

So with anelka and berba, they don't have to acclamatize, hence reducing the risk by about 70%. Plus they can't be complacent, they know what Drog is capable of when he comes back plus Sheva is not finished as well.

One more thing, I don't think I can bear to see Berba go to Manu, Just forget the title.

Branislav Ivanovic might be takinbg a medical with chelsea tomorrow. Looks like we beat ManU to it after all.

Another 3points earned breathing seriously on their asses. Now the transfer market is open. I am eagerly awaitng what Grant wants to do. Berbatov is up for grabs, so I think we should grab him. If we can grab him and Anelka, I don't think that will be stupid because I think Drog leaves at the end of the season. If we can't grab them both we grab Berba. Hope to see us doing better soon.

Ashley will be back next match. Carvalho as well. We hope Malouda is back soonest.

Have you seen Ballack's since he came back? he has been at the top of his game.  You wait till Lamps comes back and you won't see him again. Why? because Lamps does not complement co-midfeilders.

First half over. What's the problem I clearly see, selection it is. Yes selection. Why is Mikel not playing this Match. Why not have mikel as a holding midfielder and a player that can pass the ball far better than Essien and Sidwell put together so that we can generate some strong midfield play and then we can release Essien to burst forwards? Instead of having Sidwell kill midfield play with untimed tackles and cheap midfield play. Another option maybe a 4-4-2 to bring in Pizzarro soo that we can have crosses into the attack from our make shift SWP.

This not the best football I am seeing. What ever it is Mikel has to come in so tht we can have a Ballack-Mikel midfield and we can put passes together.

Chelsea is no longer what it used to be in 1965. When fans saw entertaining football then it was probably for the first time at the bridge because chelsea was an average club then.

Now Chelsea is bigger. You talk of clubs that are likely to win the Champions League and you talk about Chelsea. Now when you talk of clubs at such levels, certain standards are desired.

JM moved to Chelsea and transformed Chelsea from contenders to winners. We had this ore about us, even ManU was attempting to end our unbeaten run and they celecbrated when they did it. u'd think they won the premiership.

Now it is different. Teams think of adding a point to their premiership glory and they think of the bridge.

I know if we must relax the defensive play for a more fluid, expressive and expansive play, we must be willing to conceed goals. My problem is we must be prepared to score a lot but unfortunaetly we don't.

I sat down to critically analyse the problem we have at chelsea and I see more than just the Drogba problem. We lost our star striker but that's not the only problem we have. the bigger problem is all others that play behind him can't score. When we know we have such problems, then we do not open our yansh to conceed goals. If we do, we keep dropping points and before we know it we are out of the premiership race. plus we can't even play a two legged champions league tie if we are so susceptible to conceeding goals.

Secondly, Even if we have Anelka, berbatov, villa, playing at the same time and all we have is Carvalho to pass balls to them we will never make a good striker. Except we have a Drogba like striker that can play on his own.

This team was built around Didier, throwing the ball to him was the key because he could play all on his own. It did not take any special thing to pass the ball to didier, even Peter Cech could do it. So we did not need fabulous passers of the ball. Apart from Mikel,

Lamps, Essien, Maka, SWP, Sidwell, Kalou, Malouda are all bad passers of the ball. Now the play wants to change with the same players, it is impossible.  You cannot have expansive play with bad passers of the ball. It is wrong tactics with the players available.  Or is it wrong players with the tactics available.  It's one of the reasons Sheva never made it at chelsea.  He played in fron of players like KAka, Clarence ceedorf, Rui costa, Pirlo, massive passers of the ball. 

Must I go into the setup of Barca.     

In spite of all the clean sheets and wins Grant has had, I am not carried away that the strength of the opposition. both in the league and the champions league. When we meet high scoring sides, we have a problem. WE've not even played Spurs.

AG has a chance to make Chelsea a fore-runner once again, the quality of the players he brings in in January willl go a long way, not just in defining what happens this season biut what he (grant) will be for sometime to come.  If we want expansive play, Barcelona, Manu and Arsenal like play, we have to do away with almost half our squad, bitter as it seems that is what we have to do.   

Grant needs to bring in at least 5 players if chelsea is to be transformed. 1 world class stirker that can play as well. Preferably Berbatov. huntelaar and Anelka are options as well

2 Central midfielders - luka Modric, Van der Vaart, Andrei Arshavin, Diego are all options.  These players do not just play they pass and guess what they score as well.

2 wingers.  Andwele Slory, David bentley are options. They have pace like SWp and Kalou except that they score and they cross well.

When these happen we are on the way, but before then we just just have to fold our arms and watch what drama unfolds.
